The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 654: Third Goal of the Game!
The throw itself was not good.
No, screw it. Nassim wouldn’t lie to his friend here. After the game was over, he would tell Higo straight to his face that the throw was ass.
It was way too strong, flying past the center line and forcing him to run. Honestly, Nassim didn’t know where Higo got the strength from, especially after the incident earlier. It was fortunate that he had been preserving his energy in the second half, and now, the Moroccan winger had all the energy in the world to chase for the ball.
He wasn’t alone, though. No, one of Dortmund’s defenders also rushed toward his side, wanting to cut off the pass. For a moment, two players who were accelerating were about to clash, and some dudes on the stand started to cover their eyes quickly, not wanting to see another incident.
However...
Thud!
Right before they clashed, Nassim touched the ball first, rerouting it slightly to get the ball away from that defender. After that, he didn’t even slow down, avoiding the collision like a pro before chasing for the ball again.
He got rid of that defender in one sweep, and now, the Moroccan winger had all the space in the world to explore.
"FUCK! He is going for a counter! Stop him!"
"Damn! Where the hell are the defenders here?!"
"Slow him down! Slow him down!"
Dortmund’s defensive line succumbed in panic instantly. They didn’t expect Schalke, which seemed to be content with a two-goal lead, would suddenly switch gears once again, attacking them when they lowered their guard. Now, with only three defenders after so many changes that the coach had made, they ran back frantically, wanting to kill Nassim on the spot.
Of course, on Nassim’s side, it wasn’t without any difficulty. Even during his run, the Moroccan winger still took his time to glance at the penalty box, and he only found one player to be ready there. It was none other than Randy Gyamenah, as the Ghanaian striker was running widely as if he was about to go to the other flank, wanting to spread the opponent’s defensive line thinner.
Two against three.
It shouldn’t be enough for Nassim to deal with the situation in front of him right now. However, confidence flowed over him, especially when he saw Randy’s erratic off-the-ball movement that was so hard for Dortmund’s defender to follow.
’Yeah, I can do this!’
Right after that thought popped into his head, he began speeding up again, and this time, the winger even changed his direction slightly, moving diagonally into the penalty area.
This alarmed Dortmund’s defender, who wanted to kill him, but when he was about to take Nassim, the winger used a quick step-over move to make him hesitate. The slight second of pause in the defender’s state during this situation was enough for Nassim to take advantage of it, as the Morocco winger had already sent a sneaky through ball to Randy, who pounced on it like a hungry beast.
’Come on, Randy! This is your job!’
Now, it became 2v1 in Dortmund’s penalty box, with Randy having to fight against one Dortmund defender and the goalkeeper himself. However, the Ghanaian striker was far from being flustered. Even though his movement was so chaotic, like a lunatic, his brain was somehow at its calmest, taking a quick glance at the goal for a second before shooting the ball.
Thud!
It was not a powerful strike that would rip the opponent’s net. No, the boy just gently chipped the ball, going straight above the goalkeeper’s head. The way the ball was spinning so slowly in the air was like a mockery of all of Dortmund’s effort today, and once the ball finally fell on the back of the net...
"OH! RANDY! RANDY! RANDY!"
"YES! COME ON!"
"3-0, Baby! 3-0!"
Cheers exploded from every corner of the stadium, while Randy himself could be seen roaring toward the stands. Out of enthusiasm, he even kicked the corner flag, snapping it in half. The sweat glistering on his face couldn’t hide his excitement, only highlighting it more.
Soon, the rest of the players jumped on him, laughing with the same boisterous attitude.
"FUCK, YEAH! COME ON, RANDY!"
"THIS IS WHAT WE ARE WAITING FOR!"
"3-0! WE ARE DESTROYING THEM!"
Even Higo himself, even though he didn’t rush forward, couldn’t help but celebrate here. He turned to the people on the stand behind him, punching the air excitedly to show how relieved he was about this situation. It also helped when he saw the dejected look on Dortmund’s players, as if their soul had just gotten ejected from their body.
’With this, they shouldn’t create more trouble for us, right?’ He felt the corner of his lips twitching in dark amusement.
True enough, he could see Boyamba kneeling on the ground, Chris Fuhrich having his hands on his hips, and most importantly, Steffen Tigges sat on the ground lifelessly, as if he had just given up on life itself. This was probably the most satisfying part, as the striker really rubbed him the wrong way since the beginning of the second half.
Well, their reaction was quite understandable. After all, two goals might be reachable, but three? Especially when only fifteen minutes were left before the game ended? No amount of spiritual strength or any supernatural power they had would help Dortmund overcome this mountain.
Their head coach seemed to notice this problem as well. He made one last change to put another striker on the frontline, but this was just a futile effort to make them look like they died with dignity. In reality, one player would be far from enough to overcome this situation, not when their first 13 players failed to get a goal in the first 75 minutes of the game.
This was just the last desperate attempt to show their attitude, and everyone knew about it. That was why, once everyone was back to their original position again, they had this casual air in their posture, having already figured out one important thing in this game.
’That goal seals everything. Now, this game is over.’
