The Rise of the Black Plain

Chapter 2942: Facing the Strongest Being in Existence?

Chapter 2942: Facing the Strongest Being in Existence?

Minos stopped in front of his group, visualizing a battalion of high-level sea beings lined up, waiting for him in front of the command headquarters of the strongest being in existence, according to rumors in the realm.

At this moment, while his throne was running his only developing inheritance, Minos was about to meet Deity Lydis, an encounter he had been thinking of having, but had put off until later since he entered the realm.

He hadn't come alone on such an important trip. Besides some beings he himself had created on his arrival in the realm, his daughter and grandfather were there with him, but also Devdar and two of the man's followers.

"I hope His Excellency Lydis has no negative intentions, or our efforts over the last few years will be thrown away," said one of Devdar's two followers, whispering to their leader. "This meeting could have been postponed a little longer."

Devdar listened to his follower, but remained silent. He glanced sideways at Minos, aware that his most promising heir was probably one of the three most powerful in the realm, but not yet ready to beat Lydis. However, he understood Minos' move.

'If he succeeds, all the danger will have been worth it. Today we may have to face mortal combat, in the worst-case scenario, or in the best case, leave here with four new vacant thrones in Minos' domains.'

That was tempting, even for Devdar!

He had never increased his domains of influence so much at once in his more than one million years of existence as a Deity!

Where would these four thrones come from? Well, in Minos' last years in the Upper Realm, he had fought in and out of the dimension against competitors, got new alliances and subordinates, but also explored 'ownerless' parts of the realm. On this journey, he brought enthroned beings to his side, but also came into contact with possibilities of bringing empty thrones to himself.

The problem that prevented Minos from completing the accession of these thrones to his domains was the position of Lydis, who had his eye on these positions even before Minos found them.

Because of this, Minos had brought forward his meeting with the strongest man in the realm to today, in order to negotiate for these vacant thrones.

Minos knew how difficult this negotiation could be, but he went ahead nonetheless, taking the lead in his group to start the meeting.

Stopping in front of the first Lydis officer waiting for them, Minos introduced himself, showing his group and then greeting the men of the local faction in the vicinity.

Lydis' group was powerful indeed. It had several level 127 True Celestials and more than one level 128, a rarity in all of existence. In fact, the rumors about the number of level 128 beings said that there were only a dozen in the reality!

This was obviously far from the truth and with the changes taking place in Hell, even if it had been true in the past, it would probably no longer be true today, nor could it be considered in the future.

A level 128 being was the one who welcomed Minos and Devdar, greeting them both and just nodding to the others beside them. "Welcome to the Celestial Cult. His Excellency Lydis is waiting for you in the throne hall. Please accompany us there." He showed the way with one of his hands before walking side by side with Minos and Devdar.

"Devdar, you've got yourself quite an heir," said the level 128 man, walking with the two, speaking in a courteous tone. "And congratulations on your achievements. You're probably the greatest genius the realm has ever seen in its entire history, Minos."

Minos smiled at this expert's comment. "You flatter me. I just had a bit more luck than most of my opponents."

"Luck really is an undeniable variable." The green-haired man nodded in agreement, still looking at Minos. "I wonder how much of your good luck still exists. Despite your status, you're still in a vulnerable position."

The look in this expert's eyes said much that his words concealed. Devdar and Minos clearly understood, with the former becoming a little apprehensive, and the latter smiling bitterly.

"I hope there's enough left for me to complete my objectives," Minos said good-humoredly.

He didn't want to challenge Lydis. That was the truth. And, hell, he still wasn't confident about facing someone so strong.

Minos was currently at the peak of level 126 and could advance to level 127 at any time. Given his innate ability, he could become temporarily much stronger than that, which had brought him to his current position.

However, cultivation at the 13th stage was even more extreme than at the lower stages!

To give you an idea of the differences between the last steps of cultivation, a level 127 being could beat several level 126 cultivators simultaneously. But a single level 128 being could beat all the level 127 beings at the same time!

But those at level 129 were virtually immune to damage from anyone below their level.

Unless another level 129 being appears, their inherent skills and quantity would be irrelevant. Even the totality of ALL living creatures wouldn't stand a chance against a single level 129 True Celestial!

Things like types of powers, combat areas, numbers, artifacts or anything else lost all meaning in the face of reality's most challenging beings!

Minos and Devdar knew this well, which is why neither of them thought they could handle Lydis without a little luck on their side.

But Minos wasn't interested in taking Lydis' place and remained calm as he entered the palace ahead of his group.

Soon the group would reach the last door of the long corridor they passed, stopping before they could finally meet that powerful entity.

As they entered Lydis' throne room, they felt the pressure on them increase tremendously, not failing to notice that the ruler of the domain was wearing the true form of his throne as he waited for them.

Instinctively, Minos and Devdar felt the need to summon their own thrones. However, being there to talk and not fight, they both restrained their more worried instincts and tried to walk towards Lydis, even with the man testing them.

Looking at the small-bodied boy, who looked no older than 12, with long sapphire-colored hair, Minos felt the difference between him and the 'last step' on his path.

'Level 129... Really powerful! Imagine how strong the Absolutes of the Ancestral Realm era weren't?' he asked himself, feeling his anxiety rise a little.

Lydis also watched Minos, sizing up the man who had finally come to him.

"And here is the Chosen One, Heaven's Son, Heir to the Lost Will, the Chosen One of Sea and Land, Successor to the Celestial King, Minos Stuart." Lydis said in a tone impossible to distinguish whether it was mockery or reverence. "Have you come BACK to defy me and take what is rightfully yours, Minos Stuart?"

His voice resounded throughout the domain, causing the weakest to lose consciousness, while only those with strength equivalent to level 128 experts remained standing.
