The Rise of the Black Plain

Chapter 2940: The Inheritance of Minos I

Chapter 2940: The Inheritance of Minos I

The moment the throne finished giving its warning, all the beings in the Seraphim Dimension turned their attention to the message given. Even Minos' four wives, cultivating in seclusion, opened their eyes at almost the same time, for the first time in a long while receiving news about their husband.

Previously, shortly after Minos' promotion and the departure of those who had decided to go to the Upper Realm with his help, they had received messages from him about the start of preparations to give those who had been left behind the opportunity to make the same journey as him. But centuries had passed since then, and as much as the family trusted Minos, they were more focused on what they could do for themselves than on how their patriarch would help them.

But their wait seemed to have come to an end, or at least that should be the case for one of the family members, who would actually be given the opportunity to enter Minos' first inheritance.

"So, this is his method of getting us on his side again?" Abby murmured with a smile on her face as she left her cultivation site, running into her three harem sisters.

"This dispute will be about who of us goes first," Ruth said as she looked directly at Abby. "The others won't make a point of entering the dispute as long as one of us remains away from Minos. The question is, who of us should go first?"

Gloria and Segiel looked at Abby too, implying that, as the strongest, she had some preference. In terms of power, there was no way they could compete against Abby. Abby would win even if she had to fight without her abilities!

That was the difference between a Celestial and a Supreme!

Abby surprised her harem sisters. She looked up at the beautiful sky and sighed. "Not a moment goes by that I don't think of Minos. But this is not my time to join him. As the only one of us who has reached the 13th stage, it's my duty to stay and help us all make our way back to him."

They hadn't been just themselves for a long time. Their life together with Minos had stopped being about their individualities and had become about their family a long time ago. Even now, none of them could help thinking how terrible it would be for their beloved to live without one of them for eternity.

So, even though they all wanted to be by Minos' side and all understood that those who stayed behind would be sacrificing themselves, at least temporarily, they couldn't help but agree with Abby in her decision.

Unanimously, Gloria, Ruth, and Abby looked at Segiel and, without having to speak their decision, agreed on who should go first.

Segiel took a deep breath and said, "Very well. I'll go ahead." She clenched her fists in determination, missing Minos terribly, but also determined not to fail at the effort her companions were making as of now. "I'll do my best not to waste this chance and when I join him, I hope you won't be long in achieving your successes."

"Definitely."

"We're closer than you think. Don't get too comfortable when you get next to him." Abby reminded Segiel as she showed her sister one of her closed fists. "Enjoy your time alone with him before the rest of us, Segiel."

The four laughed in unison, genuinely in a good mood, even though only one of them was positioning herself to enter the Upper Realm.

After a minute, they left their smiles behind and thought better of what came next as they went to meet Jalai, Vico, and Emlyn.

"Our inheritances shouldn't be as long as Minos'," Gloria said as she considered the difference between them as they were now and her beloved husband as he had been throughout Devdar's inheritance. "Back then, Minos was only a Grandmaster when he was accepted into Devdar's inheritance. Then he went through three tests, one when he became a Sovereign, another when he became a Supreme and the last when he became a Celestial."

Segiel had already thought of this when they were told, centuries ago, that they would have to take part in inheritances to go to the Upper Realm and join Minos. She told her sisters, "I imagine our selections will be different. An inheritance is very much about its creators, so what Minos faced won't be what we'll face."

"That doesn't mean it will be quick or easy." Ruth looked at her sisters seriously, reminding them of who her husband was. "Minos will temper us using this. That's especially true for you, Segiel."

Abby and Gloria agreed as they looked at Segiel.

Abby said, "You didn't get the chance to be a Devil, like the rest of us did. He must take it especially hard with you. Only then will you be a powerful Entitled Deity at his side!"

Segiel expected nothing different and was mentally prepared for the challenges ahead. "I know. I'm confident of passing the tests he's prepared for me!"

Ruth and the others nodded, confident that Segiel wouldn't do badly.

There were certainly possibilities beyond their control and even Minos'. An inheritance would be no good if it involved only them. They knew that there would be competitors, beings who should get their places by merit, rather than an invitation. And in that case, if they weren't excellent, there could be possibilities of failure!

However, this was the best way, as they could join Minos in immortality and achieve all their desires in the Upper Realm!

With this in mind, each committed to making every effort when their time came, they soon met up with Vico, Jalai and Emlyn. These three had rushed towards them, aware that no one else could use this opportunity but them.

Until the four of them joined Minos, the rest of them wouldn't vie with each other for these chances!

"Ladies, have you decided who will go first?" Jalai asked with a smile on his face.

Although it would take at least three more new notices of the throne for him to get his chance to compete for a place in one of Minos' inheritances, he didn't think it would take long to get his chance. Given how powerful Minos was and how committed he was to creating opportunities for the family, Jalai was confident that opportunities for the family would appear quickly in the coming years.

Segiel answered his question, "I'll go first. I will prepare myself and say goodbye to everyone before the next 100 days and then follow in the footsteps of Minos' legacy. I'm counting on you to protect the family and guild in my absence."

The three agreed. Emlyn, in particular, understood their decision well. They were doing what was best for the family and not for themselves. Emlyn herself had done something like this in the past and couldn't help but agree.

Vico said after the group wished Segiel good luck. "Well, sooner or later, the rest of us will join you. For now, we'll support you from afar. But don't worry about leaving us. The Hell has become quieter since Qhava's death. And the Entitled Deities are focused on their internal disputes."

This was the truth they all knew, but even amid the best period of peace of their lives, they remained alert!

Now that they were going to start separating to go to the Upper Realm, they couldn't help but prepare for trouble!
