The Rejected Luna Rising
Chapter 6: The Alpha I serve
"Who has come?" Victor asked again, knitting his brows together.
"Jeremy Walter, Alpha Prince Andrew’s Gamma," his beta, Emmett, replied. "He demands to see you immediately."
"Bring him inside," Victor ordered as he placed his pen on the desk. His expression turned thoughtful as he tried to understand why Andrew’s Gamma would suddenly appear at his office.
"Why is Andrew’s Gamma here? Is this because of Nina? I’ve heard that Andrew isn’t an easy man to please. Does he want to learn more about me before the Alpha King gives his approval for Nina to marry me?"
Several possibilities ran through Victor’s mind as the approaching footsteps grew louder.
When the door finally opened, Victor stood up from his chair, preparing to welcome Jeremy. However, before he could say anything, Jeremy looked around the room and let out a mocking chuckle.
"So, this is your Alpha?"
Jeremy reached behind him and pulled out a pair of silver cuffs.
Before Victor or Emmett could figure out what he intended to do, Jeremy stepped swiftly locked the silver cuffs around Victor’s wrists.
"What are you doing?" Victor growled, immediately trying to pull his hands free.
His anger surged, and he shoved Jeremy away using his Alpha strength. The force sent Jeremy several steps backward, while the silver cuffs slipped from Victor’s wrists and clattered onto the floor.
They slid across the polished floor before coming to a stop beside a pair of pointed heels.
Victor’s gaze followed the cuffs, and his expression changed when he saw who was standing in the doorway.
Nina had just arrived.
"Princess?" Jeremy stared at Nina in surprise before immediately giving her a stiff bow. He then walked toward the silver handcuffs lying on the floor and picked them up with his leather-gloved hands.
"Jeremy, what are you doing here?" Nina demanded, her brows furrowing as she looked between him and Victor.
"I’m here on Prince Andrew’s orders," Jeremy replied without hesitation. "Victor Ashford is accused of attempting to murder his mate."
"What?"
The words left Nina, Victor, and Emmett almost simultaneously. All three stared at Jeremy in disbelief.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Victor shouted, his anger surging as his wolf began to surface. "This is a blatant accusation against me!"
"Didn’t you send wolves after Caroline Blackwood to kill her?" Jeremy asked with a mocking sneer.
He stepped closer to Victor, his expression turning cold. "You’d better cooperate with me, because if Prince Andrew comes here himself, you won’t survive it. And neither will your entire pack."
Nina immediately stepped forward, placing herself between Jeremy and Victor.
"Jeremy, what proof do you have?" she demanded. "Victor and I have been together for four months. How dare Andrew accuse him of something so terrible without evidence?"
Her eyes hardened as she pointedly warned the Gamma, "If you lay a hand on my man, I will personally take this matter to the Alpha King."
"Well, Princess Nina, you’re free to do that," Jeremy replied calmly. "But my hands are tied. I’m only carrying out the order given by the Alpha I serve."
Before Victor could react or use his Alpha strength against him, Jeremy stepped forward and delivered a powerful punch to his face. The blow was strong enough to send Victor stumbling backward, leaving his vision blurred for several seconds.
"Take him away!" Jeremy ordered.
The warriors who had accompanied him immediately entered the room and moved toward Victor.
A Gamma shouldn’t have possessed enough strength to overpower an Alpha so easily. Yet Jeremy wasn’t an ordinary Gamma. He served Andrew, and the Alpha Prince had a reputation for choosing only the strongest and most capable warriors to serve under him.
"How dare you raise a hand against Victor?" Nina shouted from behind them, her anger evident in her voice.
Emmett immediately rushed forward to protect his Alpha, but two of Andrew’s warriors intercepted him and restrained him before he could reach Victor.
Jeremy ignored the commotion and secured the silver cuffs around Victor’s wrists. The moment they locked into place, Victor’s strength was severely restricted, leaving him unable to fight back.
"Princess Nina, you’re welcome to come with us if you wish," Jeremy offered, his tone surprisingly calm despite the chaos in the room.
Nina clenched her fists as she watched Victor being dragged away. Her eyes remained fixed on him, filled with worry and anger.
"You’re going to regret this, Jeremy," she warned through gritted teeth. "I swear you will."
Jeremy simply bowed to Nina before dragging Victor out of the room. The warriors followed close behind, shoving Emmett aside when he tried to intervene before forcing him back.
The commotion quickly drew Angelina, Victor’s mother, from another part of the mansion. She froze when she saw her son being dragged away by several unfamiliar men.
"Who are you?" she demanded, rushing toward them. "Where are you taking my son?"
None of them answered. They continued walking as though she wasn’t even there.
"Guards!" Angelina screamed, turning toward the security personnel. "Stop them!"
Several guards immediately rushed forward, but they were no match for Andrew’s warriors. Within seconds, they were thrown aside and landed heavily on the ground.
"My son!" Angelina cried out, running after them. "Somebody save my son!"
Outside, Jeremy shoved Victor into the back seat of the waiting car. As Angelina came running toward them, Jeremy turned around and raised a gun in her direction.
"Stop your drama, Madam," he warned coldly. "This silver bullet is enough to put you to sleep forever."
Angelina stopped in her tracks, staring at the weapon in fear.
"Your son has committed a serious act of treason," Jeremy continued. "He had a hand in hurting Prince Andrew’s mate, and he will answer for it."
He lowered the gun when he noticed Nina running out of the mansion.
Jeremy quickly got into the car and shut the door behind him. "Drive."
The driver immediately started the engine, and the car sped away, leaving Nina and Angelina behind.
"Princess Nina, I beg you to do something," Angelina pleaded.
"Don’t worry. I will talk to my father," Nina stated, her jaw tightening in frustration.
