Chapter 341 - 251: Join the Great Soul Ascension
Chapter 341: Chapter 251: Join the Great Soul Ascension
Not answering directly usually means the answer is yes.
A bunch of Cultists are building a human-brain network.
Zog felt that the Five-Color Dragons didn’t even deserve to be the poster boys for evil.
"And these vessels, were they willing?"
The Priest still avoided a direct answer, saying only, "Everything is a necessary sacrifice for the great cause. They are glorious, and their sacrifice has value."
Zog wanted to rake his claws across that rotten, masked face, but physical attacks were probably useless in the Consciousness Space.
’Deciding someone’s fate for them, then calling their sacrifice valuable.’
’It was like claiming vegetarianism saves the planet.’
"Then why are you creating Tieflings?"
Zog still couldn’t understand why they had caused such a huge incident with the Magic Vision Devices. All they seemed to accomplish was making everyone hate them and creating a lot more Tieflings.
’It didn’t seem to have anything to do with uploading consciousness.’
"Tieflings are the most suitable candidates to become the core, and their current numbers are insufficient."
The Priest replied calmly, his voice devoid of emotion. He sounded nothing like the man who had just been seething with resentment over the crimes of the Deities.
’Even though they were doing pretty much the same thing.’
’A textbook case of double standards.’
"Alright, thanks for your honesty," Zog said with a shrug. He had nothing more to discuss with this Cult Priest. "But I’m not interested in joining."
"This isn’t about what you want."
The Priest suddenly let out a cold laugh.
"Why do you think I’ve wasted so much breath explaining our goals and ideals, answering your pointless questions?"
’Stalling for time?’
Zog realized.
’But why stall?’
’Were they infiltrating his consciousness?’
"From you, we only need your creativity for building the network and your various works, not you yourself. To put it simply, we don’t want you. We want your memories and a consciousness stripped of all emotion."
As the Priest spoke, the entire space began to crack and crumble.
"Even if you’re a walking catastrophe, an Ancient Red Dragon, it makes no difference in the Consciousness Space."
The Priest’s laughter grew increasingly maniacal.
"Soon, I will have all of your memories, all of your creativity! And then, I will become one of the greatest Priests among the Soul Ascenders..."
"Wait, you said you would get them?" Zog suddenly caught the key point.
"Of course. All of your memories will become a part of me."
Hearing the Priest’s answer, Zog started to laugh.
"Let me tell you a little secret: I have a very good memory."
"What?"
"I mean, I remember everything I’ve ever seen, heard, or smelled. It’s actually caused me a lot of trouble. Countless memories bubble up constantly. I nearly went insane once. It took me a long time to learn how to control them, to only search for a memory when I need it."
As Zog spoke, the purple-robed Priest’s body began to twitch uncontrollably, flickering and disintegrating. The smugness in his eyes was gone, replaced by terror and utter confusion.
Incomprehensible, complex, chaotic, and indescribably bizarre memories flooded into his brain like a tidal wave.
"It’s morbin time what the dog doin Ohio final boss they did surgery on a grape skibidi toilet gyatt rizzler is this loss are you winning son bing chilling this is fine doge to the moon this one’s a real heavyweight 6 never gonna give you up..."
The memories weren’t just concepts; they were images, sounds, sensations, and smells, all layered one on top of the other.
The Priest couldn’t understand why such memories existed, containing a sea of useless and insane information.
"AHHH—"
He let out a final, desperate roar.
Finally, the Priest gave up trying to understand.
He had gone mad.
Looking at the Priest’s miserable state, Zog couldn’t help but remark, "The internet really does ruin people."
