Chapter 142

Dream Came True

Date : Day 29 of Grimleaf 1024 Aethellgard Concord Year.

Hyoren watched Ina and the two Fox-clan beastkin women leave the reception room. Their footsteps gradually faded deeper into the manor.

The domestic matters were settled. And now it was time for practicality. Planning for tomorrow's dungeon diving.

He looked toward Jackey, who was still leaning near the wall beside the window like he had forgotten the meeting was not over yet. The Cat-clan beastkin's gaze was fixed on something outside—probably the garden, or possibly nothing at all. His posture was relaxed in a way that suggested he had already mentally checked out of the proceedings.

"Jackey. Let's discuss our plan for tomorrow."

Jackey straightened immediately. The transformation was almost comical—one moment he was slouching against the wall with the boneless ease of someone who had forgotten they were supposed to be paying attention, and the next he was upright and alert as if the words had physically jolted him.

"Sorry, Big Bro!"

He quickly walked over and dropped himself onto the sofa. The furniture groaned softly under his weight. His large frame settled into the cushions with the kind of casual comfort that seemed to be his default state.

Hyoren nodded once, then turned toward Elise.

"We are settled on gear and necessities, right, Elise?"

Elise looked up thoughtfully. Her emerald eyes shifted slightly as she began mentally cataloging their supplies. She started counting with her fingers one by one.

"Camping gear, tents, tarp, sleeping bags. Water orb. Portable stoves. Ward stones. All perfect."

She relaxed deeper into the sofa.

"We only need to stock supplies. But I already asked Ina to buy them together with the groceries. Preserved meat, vegetables, flour, bread, and other necessities. We already settled."

Hyoren smiled faintly.

"We still have enough potions. And I could use healing magic to some extent."

He gave a satisfied nod.

"Good."

Then he looked toward Jackey.

"What about yours, Jackey?"

Jackey tapped the storage pouch attached to his belt proudly. The bag itself was small—no larger than a standard coin purse—but the space magic runes inscribed on it allowed the pouch to contain far more than its size suggested.

"Mine also good!"

He grinned.

"I got my own tents, sleeping bag, and tarp. No cooking tools or supplies though, because I always bought preserved meat. HAHAHA!"

The laugh that followed was characteristic—loud and booming and completely unapologetic about its volume.

Hyoren nodded.

"Gear check next. I know Elise already. So I need to know yours, Jackey."

Jackey quickly took two axes from his storage bag. The weapons emerged from the void with practiced ease.

The axes were different sizes and designs, each clearly serving a different purpose.

One of the axes was bigger than the other. The bigger one was Black with a red-streak on the metal. The red lines glowing softly. The illumination was subtle but unmistakable—definitely got runic inscription.

He lifted it up.

"This is my primary weapon. Bloody-Axe. I got it from dungeon treasure chest. It got simple runic inscription effect. The more i whack same enemy, the higher the damage i do!"

He lift it up even higher.

"Leave whacking to me Big Bro! WOHOO!"

Hyoren and Elise chuckled softly.

Hyoren then asked what about the other.

Jackey put down the Bloody-Axe. The weapon settled against table with a soft thump. And picked the smaller one beside it. It was mostly white. With weird shapes that seemed designed for a specific purpose rather than general use. Hyoren recognized it as a Tomahawk. An axe which could be used for throwing.

Jackey lifted it up. The motion was more controlled than his previous demonstration.

"This is the Flying-Kite Axe. This was custom made i order from my hometown blacksmith. The weight, balance and shape make it easier to throw. And it got the space-time runes 'Return'. After being thrown, I could will it to come back to my hand."

He then gestured at his body.

"About armor. I prefer to not wear bulky armor because it will hinder my movement. Even naked is better than wearing stuffy leather armor. My current one is just Yellow Wolf fur armor. It didn't provide much protection. I don't need it."

He posed exaggerately.

"Evade! Evade! HAHAHA."

Hyoren chuckled quietly.

Jackey's fighting style was practically that of a berserker. No wonder he earned the title Whirlwind Axe. Hyoren could easily imagine him charging half-naked into battle, dual axes in hands, smashing enemies apart like a violent storm.

"Jackey, you truly are unbelievable."

A faint smile remained on Hyoren's face.

"But I trust your strength. I already felt it during our duel beforehand."

Jackey immediately pointed toward Hyoren with a smug grin plastered across his face.

"But you are stronger, Big Bro! HAHAHA!"

Hyoren shook his head in mild exasperation

"We simply had a bad matchup, I suppose. Your build focused on short burst combat. Mine is endurance-focused."

He tapped his chin thoughtfully for a moment.

"Okay. Our party composition will be like this."

He looked toward Jackey first.

"Jackey. You are our primary damage dealer."

A small smile formed on his face.

"Simple. Whack things up."

Jackey immediately gave thumbs up.

"Whack things up! My favorite phrase! Easy enough, Big Bro!"

Hyoren then gestured toward Elise.

"Elise will be our ranged support and scout. Her Mapping skill combined with Silent Step and Tracking will be extremely important for navigating the dungeon safely."

Elise nodded calmly, already accustomed to that role.

Hyoren then gestured toward himself.

"And I am the primary tank. My secondary role will be mage support."

He thought briefly.

"I could debuff enemies. And I could patch injuries using Healing Light. I'm afraid I cannot heal major wounds yet, but smaller injuries should not be a problem."

Jackey nodded enthusiastically.

"Balanced party. That's good!"

He leaned back into the sofa. His large frame settled against the cushions.

"When I still worked as hired mercenary, many parties had weird combinations! Imagine running a party with four mages! No tank! No Healer! It gave me lot of headache!"

Then he paused.

"Though I never actually got headache before."

Jackey scratched his cheek.

"Big Sis said my brain is too small for that."

Then he laughed loudly. The sound was immediate and unrestrained.

"HAHAHAHA!"

Hyoren and Elise chuckled before exchanging glances. The look they shared was brief but meaningful.

Neither of them said anything. But both were already certain. Dungeon diving with Jackey around would never become boring.

***

Hyoren opened his storage pouch and took out his guild card.

"Okay. We need to understand each other's strength before we dive into the dungeon properly."

He looked between Elise and Jackey.

"Let's check each other's status. I will go first."

Hyoren poured aethell into the guild card. The magic flowed from his core through his fingertips.

The back side of the card immediately lit up with pale blue light. Lines of information slowly appeared one after another, displaying the private details of his status:

"You almost level up, Hyoren."

Hyoren nodded.

"It seems so."

He looked back toward the skill list again, his eyes scanning through the rows of abilities.

"And now that I look at it again... my skill list really is all over the place huh. Spear skill. Throwing skill. Magic skill. Sword and shield skill."

He scratched his cheek awkwardly.

"It's almost like I'm jack of all trades. Even my status growth is nearly balanced across the board."

Jackey crossed his arms confidently.

"No, Big Bro. Jack of all trades is good!"

He pointed dramatically toward Hyoren.

"That means you could handle anything thrown at you! And that's exactly why you are so strong!"

Elise nodded in agreement.

"Jackey is right."

Her silver hair shifted lightly as she leaned back against the sofa. The strands caught the fading afternoon light.

"And you only recently switched roles anyway. Eventually you'll naturally specialize more toward sword, shield, and magic."

Hyoren nodded slowly.

"That is true, I guess."

He then looked toward Elise.

"Okay then. Elise. Show your status, please."

Elise took out her guild card afterward. Her movements were practiced. She poured aethell into it, causing pale light to spread across the surface before turning the status toward them.

Jackey let out a loud whistle. His tabby cat tails spiraled excitedly behind him.

"Wow. Elise is strong!"

Meanwhile, Hyoren looked genuinely shocked instead. His dark eyes widened slightly as he stared at the status.

He already knew Elise had been training Mapping.

But there were suddenly two completely new skills he did not know she possessed. And both Silent Step and Tracking had also increased by one level compared to what he remembered.

"Elise. What happened?"

He looked back toward her status card again. .

"Why are there suddenly two new skills instead of one? The Mapping? And your Silent Step and Tracking also leveled up..."

Elise smiled proudly. Her pointed ears twitched lightly.

"I don't want to be the one who becomes complacent, Hyoren."

Her voice softened slightly afterward.

"Fight with Hifoppe taught me that I'm still weak."

She looked directly at him. Her emerald eyes met his dark ones.

"And you are not the only one who want to become stronger to protect others. I also want to become stronger to protect my loved ones too."

For a brief moment, her gaze drifted toward the window. Silver hair swayed softly with the movement. The strands caught what little light remained from pale silver Luna’s light.

"When you trained with Ronald to become a tank... and when you learned magic with Oria..."

She looked back at him.

"Not only did I try to learn Mapping, I also trained myself for other skill."

Elise tapped her guild card lightly with one finger.

"Silent Step and Tracking leveled up while I was training Mapping. Seems all those walking around and trying to build three-dimensional mental maps triggered them too."

Then her expression turned more serious.

"About Poison Mastery..."

She inhaled slowly.

"I was thinking about how I could contribute more during battle."

Her eyes lowered slightly toward the glowing guild card. The light from the status display illuminated her features.

"During Alpha Wolf fight... during Hifoppe fight... I was mostly useless. My arrows didn't deal enough damage. In the end, I left the hard fight to you."

Her fingers tightened slightly around the card.

"I can contribute easily against weak monsters. But against powerful enemy... I was... useless"

She paused briefly.

"That's why I asked Ina what kind of skill could improve my combat ability more."

A faint smile appeared afterward. The expression was small but genuine.

"She recommended Poison Mastery. I trained it by reading books Ina gave me, and also with Oria's help."

Elise brushed her silver hair behind her ear.

"She was knowledgeable about plants, so she taught me poisonous plants. And poison itself is also part of Alchemy."

A faint proud smile appeared on her face.

"I spent the last few weeks training by concocting various poisons."

Elise tapped the card again.

"With this skill, I could concoct poisons and lace them onto my arrows. Not only damaging poison. Neurotoxins too. Paralysis. Debuffs. Weakening effects. I won't be useless anymore."

Hyoren looked genuinely moved by her words.

"Elise... I never once thought you were useless."

His voice was quiet but firm.

"We always fought together. And we always won together."

Then he smiled faintly.

"But... perhaps we really are similar."

He looked down toward his own guild card.

"We both want to become stronger."

Then he looked back at her.

"So let's become stronger together."

Jackey suddenly stood up from the sofa dramatically.

"Don't leave me alone!"

He pointed at both of them loudly.

"I want to get stronger too!!!"

Hyoren and Elise both chuckled at the outburst.

"Of course we won't leave you alone, Jackey."

Elise covered her mouth lightly while laughing.

"Fufufu."

Hyoren also nodded.

"Yes. We will all become stronger together, Elise, Jackey."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"The Freedom Party will become stronger!"

Jackey thrust his fist into the air.

"FREEDOM PARTY! WOHOO!"

The excitement lasted for a while before Hyoren finally brought the conversation back toward the main topic.

He had already checked Jackey's status briefly back when the Cat-clan Beastkin joined the party.

But Elise still had not seen it yet.

"Okay, Jackey. Enough of that. Now show us your status."

Jackey finally sat down again on the sofa.

"Okay, Big Bro. Wait a bit."

He reached toward the storage pouch on his belt and took out his guild card.

Then he poured aethell into it. Pale blue light spread across the card before the status slowly revealed itself:

Level : 12

Hyoren nodded slowly while reading through the status. Jackey was strong. Very strong. The numbers and skills spoke for themselves.

Elise also looked satisfied after checking the card.

"Jackey is strong, yes."

Her emerald eyes scanned the skill list once more.

"This combination of multiple combat skills. Melee and ranged combat both."

She nodded lightly afterward.

"He will be a huge boon for us. In the end, we truly lacked a pure damage dealer."

Jackey immediately flexed both of his arms proudly.

"Whacking enemies? Leave it to me!"

Hyoren chuckled quietly at the loud declaration.

Then he noticed the outside window had already darkened completely. The change had been gradual. Luna's silver light was gone.

A wave of cooking aroma drifted into the reception room from deeper inside the manor. The smell seemed to wrap around them like an invitation.

Ina, Lena, and Vina were definitely in the middle of preparing dinner.

"Okay then..."

Hyoren stood from the sofa.

"We should already be prepared enough for tomorrow."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Let's eat dinner."

Jackey stood before Hyoren even fully finished speaking and immediately bolted toward the dining room.

"WOHOO! Dinner! It smells delicious!"

Hyoren and Elise exchanged glances before smiling softly. Their expressions were full with satisfaction. The dungeon matter was settled now.

Their party composition. Their preparations. Their supplies. Everything was ready for tomorrow's dungeon dive.

And now, it was finally time for dinner.

***

Hyoren and Elise slowly walked into the dining room afterward. Their footsteps echoed against the wooden floor. The aroma of cooking had grown stronger here, wrapping around them like an invitation that was impossible to refuse.

Jackey was already sitting excitedly on one of the chairs near the heavy oak table. The table itself was massive enough to comfortably seat ten to twelve people.

Meanwhile, inside the kitchen area, three women moved busily between the counters and stove. Ina, Lena, and Vina. The sound of sizzling oil, chopping vegetables, and clattering plates filled the manor with lively atmosphere. The kitchen seemed to pulse with activity. Steam rose from multiple pots. The scent of roasting meat mingled with herbs and spices in a way that made Hyoren's stomach growled.

Elise decided to help almost immediately and quietly walked into the kitchen. Her silver hair swayed as she moved. She tied her hair back with practiced efficiency before joining the others at the counter.

Hyoren instead sat down at the head of the table and simply watched the sight in front of him with warm expression.

To think my dream came true this quickly… The sight of Elise and Ina cooking together.

Of course Lena and Vina were there too. But seeing his two lovers naturally working side by side inside the kitchen still filled him with strange satisfaction. The way they moved around each other—passing ingredients, adjusting heat levels, tasting from wooden spoons—seemed almost choreographed. It felt domestic. Peaceful. Like home.

Not long after, the food began arriving one by one onto the dining table. Each dish emerged from the kitchen with its own accompaniment of steam and aroma.

Elise and Ina eventually sat beside Hyoren on his left and right. Elise settled into her chair with the grace that seemed characteristic of her every motion. Ina practically bounced into her seat, her cat ears twitching with obvious excitement.

Meanwhile Lena and Vina continued serving the dishes.

A roasted rabbit coated in honey glaze. The meat glistened under the dining room lights. Mossback squirrel karaage, the pieces were golden and crispy. Fried noodles, the strands glistened with sauce and vegetables. And a large bowl of vegetable soup that still released visible steam into the air.

Hyoren looked at the spread with genuine surprise.

"Wow. Is this a feast?"

Ina giggled happily. Her cat tail swished nonstop behind her chair.

“Of course it's a feast. We celebrating tonight, right?”

Elise lightly touched Hyoren’s arm.

“Tonight we celebrate our home.”

Her emerald eyes softened slightly.

“And two new people joined our family.”

Jackey immediately started tapping the table excitedly.

“Celebration! WOHOO!”

After Lena and Vina finished serving the final dishes, the two fox beastkin women hesitated near the side of the table instead of sitting down. Clearly, they still thought servants should eat separately.

Lena even looked ready to refuse before Hyoren spoke first.

"You two are family in this house too."

He gestured toward the empty chairs.

"So please sit. We eat together."

Ina nodded enthusiastically in agreement.

“That’s right, Lena. Eat together with us!”

Elise also nodded lightly. A small smile appeared on her lips.

“The more the merrier. Fufu.”

Lena and Vina finally sat down as well. The motion was hesitant at first—but once they were seated, their shoulders seemed to relax slightly. Now the large dining table was more than half occupied. It no longer felt empty.

Hyoren looked around the table quietly for a moment. The warm lights. The food. The lively atmosphere. Each detail seemed to contribute to something greater than itself.

Then he slowly raised his glass of beer.

"A celebration is never complete without cheers."

Everyone gradually looked toward him.

“To Freedom Party’s new house.”

He looked toward Lena and Vina afterward.

“To our new additions to the family. Lena and Vina.”

Then his gaze shifted toward the others.

“And to success for tomorrow’s dungeon dive.”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“Cheers.”

Then everyone answered together.

“Cheers!”

Glasses clinked against one another.

Laughter followed immediately afterward. And the feast finally began.

Hyoren picked up one of the mossback squirrel karaage pieces first and took a bite. Crunch. The sound was satisfying. His eyes widened slightly. The flavor was familiar in a way that was immediately recognizable.

"Hmm. This is familiar."

He looked toward Elise beside him.

"Definitely yours, right?"

Elise smiled smugly beside him.

"Fufu. Correct."

She tucked silver hair behind her pointed ear.

“I love squirrel karaage, so I always cook it like this.”

Hyoren nodded while chewing. The seasoning was rich and savory, while the meat itself remained juicy beneath the crispy coating.

He scooped some vegetable soup next, intending to cleanse his palate from the oily karaage. The moment he tasted it, his eyebrows lifted slightly.

“Delicious… and familiar too…”

Then he remembered. The same soup from their dungeon scouting trip several days ago.

He looked toward Ina.

“This is yours, right… Ina?”

Ina giggled happily from his left side. Her cat tails swished energetically behind her chair.

“Yes.”

She looked visibly pleased. She touched Hyoren’s arms lightly.

“I’m happy you remember, Hyoren…”

Then she pointed toward the roasted horned rabbit and fried noodles.

“Those two are Lena and Vina’s.”

Lena bowed slightly from across the table.

“Mostly it was Vina, Maste…”

She froze midway.

Because Hyoren was already staring at her silently. The message was very clear. No Master. His gaze was steady.

Lena corrected herself immediately.

“…I’m sorry. Mostly Vina’s, Hyoren. She already surpassed me in cooking long ago.”

Vina nodded energetically beside her mother.

“Yes, Hyoren! Please enjoy!”

Hyoren then tasted the roasted rabbit first.

The meat was tender beneath his teeth. The honey glaze coated the meat perfectly without becoming overwhelming. The sweetness was present but balanced. The outside was slightly crisp while the inside remained tender and juicy. The contrast was satisfying.

Then he tried the fried noodles afterward. The rich savory flavor immediately spread across his tongue.

“This is…”

For brief moment, he genuinely struggled to find proper words.

“Truly delicious.”

He looked toward Vina with honest admiration.

“This could probably be served in a restaurant already.”

Vina immediately gave double peace signs proudly. Clearly delighted by the praise.

Elise and Ina also nodded in agreement while eating.

The feast continued afterward with lively atmosphere filling the dining room. They chatted casually about food. About tomorrow’s dungeon dive. About preparations. About random stories. Even Jackey occasionally shouted nonsense loudly enough to make everyone laugh.

And slowly, naturally, the feeling of home completely enveloped the manor’s dining room.

***

Leaving the cleaning up to the Fox-clan beastkin mother and daughter, Hyoren, Elise, Ina, and Jackey slowly went upstairs afterward.

They needed proper rest. Tomorrow was dungeon diving.

Jackey waved toward them while walking backward through the hallway.

"Big Bro! Big Sis! Elise! Night!"

Then he immediately bolted toward his room before anyone could properly answer him.  His loud footsteps echoed through the corridor for several seconds.

Elise then lightly nudged Ina forward with a mischievous smile on her face.

"Now... I'll leave you two alone too."

Hyoren tilted his head slightly.

"Elise? Why leaving us?"

Elise crossed her arms behind her back casually.

"For the past five days, I already monopolized you, Hyoren."

Then she glanced toward Ina, whose cat tail had already started swishing faster behind her.

"And tomorrow she also can't follow us into the dungeon."

A teasing smile formed on Elise's lips.

"So give Ina enough love tonight, okay?"

She winked lightly. One of her pointed ears twitched playfully.

"Night, Hyoren. Ina."

She waved once before turning around. Her silver hair swayed softly with her movement as she walked toward her room beside the master bedroom. Her steps remained light and steady against the wooden floor.

Just before entering her room, Elise turned slightly once more and waved at them again with a gentle smile. Then she disappeared quietly behind the door.

Ina immediately reached for Hyoren's arm after Elise left.

"Elise is gone..."

Hyoren smiled softly.

"She truly is thoughtful..."

Ina smiled back warmly.

"Truly... She was always kind and thoughtful."

Hyoren then gently led Ina toward the master bedroom.

"Let's rest, Ina. Today was a long day."

Ina nodded quietly and allowed herself to be guided inside.

The door clicked softly behind them.

Ina separated briefly from Hyoren afterward. She opened her storage bag and took out her sleeping clothes before changing near the wardrobe. The fabric rustled softly when casual clothes were changed into more thin and comfortable night wear.

Hyoren also changed into more comfortable clothes. His sturdy tunic and trousers were removed and folded away, replaced by loose shirts and short pants more suitable for sleeping.

Then he turned around. And froze.

Ina had already finished changing.

The simple blouse and skirt from earlier were gone. In their place was thin cream-colored negligee that hugged her petite figure softly beneath the dim runic lamp light.

It was not extravagant. But intimate.

Her cat ears slowly flattened when Hyoren only stared silently at her. Even her tails stopped swishing. .

Fear flickered briefly across her face.

"Why you only standing there, Hyoren?"

Her voice became quieter.

"Is this not your liking?"

She sniffled lightly.

"You prefer well-endowed woman like Elise?"

Hyoren immediately snapped out of his daze and waved both hands quickly.

"No! Not like that, Ina!!"

He stepped closer immediately.

"You look beautiful. Truly beautiful..."

His voice remained gentle and sincere.

"The kind of beauty which is different from Elise. You two cannot be compared."

He paused briefly.

"You two are different women."

Then his expression softened completely.

"And I love both of you equally."

Ina's expression immediately brightened again. The transformation was almost instantaneous. Her sad look vanished, replaced by a mischievous smile. Her cat ears perked back up while her tails resumed swishing energetically behind her.

She stuck her tongue out playfully.

"Hehe. Thanks, Hyoren. I already know..."

Then her expression softened again afterward.

"But I still want hear it again. From you..."

She stepped closer toward him slowly.

"Again and again. Forever and ever..."

Her fingers lightly grabbed his shirt.

"So please continue loving me... okay?"

Then she looked up into his eyes.

"I love you, Hyoren..."

Hyoren sighed softly in exasperated affection before pulling Ina into his arms. Her small body fit naturally against his chest.

He gently caressed her head. His fingers moved through her hair with care. Her short brown hair felt soft between his fingers. The texture was fine and smooth. Then his hand brushed lightly against her furry ears. The appendages were warm and soft.

Ina trembled slightly. The reaction was immediate.

"Munyaa..."

Her voice became softer. The sound was barely above a whisper.

"Your hands feel good, Hyoren..."

She leaned deeper into his touch.

"Please continue touching my ears..."

Ina fidgeted slightly afterward.

"And maybe my tail too... but please… carefully..."

Her cheeks reddened faintly. The flush was visible even in the dim light.

"They are sensitive..."

Then she looked back up toward him with a vulnerable expression.

"Please love me properly tonight... I missed you... i truly missed you... five days was too long..."

Hyoren no longer hesitated. He lowered himself and kissed her gently.

Outside, the red two-story manor at the end of Wyvern Street stood peacefully beneath the night sky.

The neighboring Succubus Lust brothel remained noisy as usual. The sounds of laughter and music drifted across the gap between buildings.

But inside the manor itself, everything felt calm.

Only several sounds remained. The loud snoring from the far-left room. The soft rhythmic breathing of a silver-haired elf sleeping peacefully. The quiet rest of mother and daughter who finally had a stable home and secure future beneath a proper roof.

And from the master bedroom—the faint sounds of Cat-clan Beastkin and dark-haired man finding each other and becoming one again—could be heard.

Above the city, the three moons of Kresneger—Azure, Crimson, and Ebony—hung high within the night sky, and they became silent witnesses once more.
