I will begin posting chapters of Volume 2 of the Queen's Mage, Fault Line, Sunday, October 11!! I am so excited to continue Allandra and Serali's story.

Also, shout out to Persiflage, who accurately predicted the Daravan-Marielle romance!! Guess I wasn't subtle...

Here is my updated synopsis for this Volume:

Peace was never going to mean safety.

Months after becoming Avalusia’s Royal Mage, Serali is beginning to carve out a place in a kingdom that once knew her only as the daughter of its enemy. But the armistice with Lyehira remains fragile, old wounds have not healed, and every new threat makes trust harder to defend.

Her relationship with Queen Allandra has only deepened; but loving each other in private is far simpler than navigating what that love means when Serali’s position becomes a matter of public scrutiny. Allandra wants to protect her. Serali needs the freedom to choose her own risks. And as pressure closes around them, both must learn where protection ends and control begins.

At the same time Myrae's Northern Wall is still wrong.

For Cour Engineer Lady Marielle, the pattern is impossible to ignore. Defensive arrays are breaking in ways they should not, and the deeper she and Serali look, the less accidental the damage appears. Meanwhile, fear of Lyehira is spreading through Myrae. Rumors become headlines. Headlines become accusations. And as old grief hardens into suspicion, the line between protecting Avalusia and deciding who belongs within it grows dangerously thin.

With the wall weakening, the Crown under pressure, and an unseen hand turning every crisis toward the same conclusion, Serali, Allandra, Marielle, and Daravan must decide how much trust can bear before it breaks, and uncover who is exploiting Avalusia’s fractures before those fractures become impossible to contain.

Because a fault line is rarely created by the final break.

It is where the pressure has been building all along.

Here is a map that I have made of all the Fae Kingdoms in the world of The Queen's Mage. Not everything is labeled yet, since I wanted to leave myself room to make some changes.

Besides Avalusia and Lyehira, there are five other Fae Kingdoms; Aurenne (mentioned in Vol. 1 as a close ally of Avalusia), Vardheim, Kaishara, Rothmark and Cryathene. Each has their own culture, and their own races of fae (eg. Water Fae, Ice Fae, etc.). We will start to learn a little bit about them in Vol. 2, and more as the series progresses.
