Chapter 49: Chapter 49 - fifth floor

We wait for mission to start i look around observing others their loot in hadn armor and weapons they are excellent quality.

I look at nyx and start a conversation "if this is a death game we can kill them and gat rich by looting them"

She smiled ask "are you planning to loot them even before the mission starts"

I nodded "yes one must be prepared for anything before hand"

She nodded at that and look around the hall too.

Then suddenly a notification appeared i opened it.

it’s say all the participants are meet the requirement.

Then the mission started.

[Welcome to the 5th floor. Mission starting]

[Objective: Find five flags on the island and survive until the end]

[Time limit: 24 hours]

[All the teams with 5 flags have the opportunity to ascend to the next floor]

Then my vision went black and I got teleported into a different place. Before I got teleported I held Nyx’s hand, and her presence is the only thing that anchors me to the world.

Then after a few moments of darkness we finally teleported into a different place. I still held Nyx’s hand and looked at her. She too was holding my hand and smiled. Then I let her hand go.

I looked around the new place. This is a forest, and it seems we have to go and find those flags fast before others go to them.

I looked at Nyx, and she said, "We don’t have time to talk. Let’s go, and while we are going make a plan."

I nodded and used my mana to augment myself and pushed myself into action.

Nyx didn’t fall behind. She too got the pace and went toward the forest.

She asked, "What’s the plan? Do you have one?"

I replied, "Yes, I have one. The plan is go and grab the five flags from the forest or rob them, then we find a place to stay until the end of the mission."

She nodded and asked, "Do you know how we can get flags?"

I shook my head and said, "No, but don’t get separated. Let’s stay together and do this mission."

She nodded as we passed another massive tree.

Then we heard a loud scream from the side that made shivers run down us.

I immediately said, "No matter what, our main objective is to get those flags, so ignore the monsters."

Then we arrived at a location that looks like a monster den, and I saw a lone flag in the middle of the den.

My eyes lit up. When I tried to go and get it, Nyx immediately stopped me. "Don’t. Can’t you see the monster who guards it? We can’t afford to provoke that monster."

I nodded and thought of a way, but nothing came. But we can’t waste time here on a single flag.

So I looked at Nyx and said, "I’ll go there covered in darkness. If I get caught, you distract it and buy me time."

She nodded and looked at the sleeping monster.

I too looked at that monster and took step by step toward it slowly. I covered myself in darkness and took light steps as possible, making as little sound as possible.

I got closer to the flag little by little, making sure that massive monster didn’t wake up.

Nyx looked from the side with a worried expression.

And I finally came to the flag and got it, but at that moment I saw another group came for the flag. They have four people.

And as soon as they saw me take the flag, their eyes darkened, and the one who leads them extended a hand at me and demanded, "Give me the flag or die."

He too was careful to be silent. I know if I try I can take them down. They are the same as me, new to the fifth floor, so they have similar or lower attributes than me.

But if I do that the monster is going to get awakened.

My expression darkened even more than theirs. I looked at the leader figure and said, "And what if I refuse?"

He directly looked at me and said, "Then you die."

I grinned and said, "Okay then. Let’s die together."

I made a fireball and threw it at the monster’s face and looked at them provocatively and used all my strength and ran toward Nyx’s direction.

The leader cursed in a high-pitched voice, "You psychopath!"

Then the monster’s attention went to them because the sound and fireball came from their direction.

I looked at Nyx, grinned, and said, "First flag is secured. Let’s go."

She looked at me speechlessly, smiled, and turned away and ran in the direction I’m running.

We can hear those guys screaming. I just smiled at that. "That’s the victory sound, Nyx. Do you hear that?"

She looked at me. "You are so cruel."

I grinned at that and said, "Thank you for the compliment."

Then we moved toward a completely new direction and saw another team of players, but we just ignored them completely. We only need flags now.

They saw us as well, but they didn’t think we had a flag, so they just ignored us as well.

Nyx and I went to the side of a massive cave. I looked at her and said, "This cave must have a flag. Let’s go."

She nodded. "Hm. It seems so, but if we see any other team let’s check them if they have a flag."

I nodded as well. Then we entered the cave and used darkness element on our eyes to look clearly inside the cave, and we moved fast into the cave, and Nyx screamed.

I looked in the direction of her and saw she was practically jumping from the floor. There’s a big spider on the floor.

I just smiled at that and found her cute at that moment, but she looked at me and screamed, "Hey, what are you looking at? Kill that thing fast!"

I chuckled. I want to tease her more, but we don’t have time. We are in a rush.

So I used my fire to burn that spider into a crisp.

I looked at the notification, and my eyes twitched. "What kind of small spider is this? If this is a small one, the big one..."

I stopped at that. I can imagine if this is a small one then there must be a big one inside, and it must be massive.

Nyx looked at me and asked, "What do you mean, small?"

I told her, "Now I got the killing notification saying that it’s a small spider, so think about how much bigger they are on the inside. How about we go for another flag? It’s faster. We can’t deal with all of those spiders."

She understood that I don’t mean we can’t because we are weak. It’s because she is afraid of them. She didn’t get offended or say stuff like "don’t look down on me" bullshit. She is a logical person, so she nodded and said, "Okay. Let’s go for another flag. It’s really a waste of time."

I nodded, and we turned back and exited the cave and sprinted toward another direction.

We kept a steady pace so we don’t lose all the stamina at once and don’t get tired.

We faced a situation: two teams fighting for a flag. They are in heavy fighting.

I stopped Nyx from moving, took out the bow, looked at Nyx, and said, "Let’s wait until they kill each other and let’s kill the last one."

"After all, when they are fighting, if we interrupt it’s not polite. Let’s wait until they finish. After all, I’m a very polite person." I grinned at her.

She just smiled at that. "Yeah, yeah. You are the most polite person I know. So polite you can come to me and rob me while keeping a polite smile on."

I looked at her with surprise, and a genuine smile appeared on my face. "Oh, thank you for the compliment, Nyx."

Nyx doubled down. "Oh, you’re welcome, Asher."

Then we looked at them practically killing each other.

And healers heal them, tankers tank the damage, and mages give support in the back.

I looked at them, looked at Nyx, and said, "Look at their teamwork. It’s pretty good, isn’t it?"

She nodded. "Hm. That’s true, but it’s a waste. They meet their end today."

I nodded and watched them like a hunter examining prey for the hunt.

They went through an intense battle with the other team and won after many injuries.

I grinned, aimed at them with the bow, and waited. A tall man with black hair went to a dead body, kicked it in frustration, and searched for the flag.

I aimed at his head and shot an arrow through his head.
