The Plant Master Becomes A Mute Sub-Beast: Farming And Laying Eggs
Chapter 242: Communication Bracelets
Star Iron was mixed with ordinary iron ore, and the quantity was not much.
The Aegis tribe dug through all four mineral mines but only found about two tons of Star Iron ore.
Star Iron heated with ordinary fire would not melt, smashed with a hammer would not break, chopped into small pieces would not cut. Therefore, every testing time Sane could only test with each huge chunk.
The first time he used excessive Divine Energy, the entire kiln collapsed, the Star Iron also evaporating along with it. The second time Sane used too little, the Star Iron did not even get warm. The third time, the fourth time,... the twelfth time Sane finally succeeded in smelting a piece of Star Iron the size of a pinky nail.
But having success as a foundation, the remaining Star Iron was also easier to smelt.
Two tons of ore yielded nine hundred and seventy-two kilograms of pure Star Iron. This thing was too precious, moreover impossible to forge without Divine Energy Warriors, Kaelen then stored all of them into the spatial bag, waiting to return to Crimson before firing up the kiln.
He took a small piece of Star Iron, the couple personally occupied a blacksmith workshop to craft a few magical artifacts.
Star Iron after smelting had a jet-black color mixed with a slight silver glint; during the melting process, adding some magic-containing materials such as magic stones, thousand-year-old ancient tree wood, Magical plants, and magical beast bones, its bright color became white like silver metal. Moreover, the characteristic of Star Iron was extremely ductile when hot, hard when cold.
Kaelen first made a set of jewelry shaping tools for himself using Star Iron, then the couple, one heating the Star Iron, one shaping it beautifully. After shaping, arrays were carved, cinnabar mixed with gold ink coated filling the grooves of the arrays.
Just six communication magical artifacts and ten defensive magical artifacts cost them an entire month. Both of their Divine Energy was exhausted, but the benefits gained were also not small. Their mental power going through highly concentrated tempering had become much more condensed, nearly approaching the breakthrough threshold.
After finishing forging the magical artifacts, the two did not have time to test them, only putting them into the spatial bag then tumbling onto the floor of the blacksmith workshop snoring loudly. Everyone helplessly carried the couple home for them to sleep soundly.
This sleep lasted three days and three nights, finally on the morning of the fourth day the couple woke up. The first thing after waking up was sweeping clean two roasted goats, two roasted wild boars, along with a table full of food.
"Burp~" Kaelen lay on his back on the chair, burping loudly once. His two hands hung loosely, his whole body relaxed, saying contentedly: "Finally came back to life..."
On the other side Sane was a bit more elegant, wiping his own mouth then helping his mate wipe his mouth.
After eating and drinking they rested for a bit then led each other to bathe and change clothes. They holed up in the blacksmith workshop for a whole month without time to rest and bathe, then slept for three days and three nights; at this moment their whole bodies emitted a sour smell, even a hundred meters away one could still smell it.
After they bathed completely, their whole bodies stepping out refreshed, the two Sages were already waiting. They were impatient to know what these two children had researched.
Kaelen took the sixteen magical artifacts from his space out for the two to admire. The six communication magical artifacts were made in the form of bracelets, bent into flat hollowed-out bracelets, the pattern being the image of the Lac Bird and Fire. The array carving lines all skillfully hugged each pattern, making the magical artifact look both beautiful and solemn.
The ten defensive magical artifacts were all identical, being necklaces with connecting pendants, in the form of a lotus leaf wrapping a fully bloomed eight-petaled lotus flower; in the middle of the lotus flower and the lotus leaf was a hollow section to place a magic stone.
Solomon and Valmot each picked up a piece to examine; besides admiring the craftsmanship, there was also curiosity:
"This bird species looks so strange, I have never seen it before."
"This flower looks strange too... Ah, no, in my youth I once saw it in the Illusion Forest, the smell is very fragrant and it is as red as blood, above it even reflecting a seven-colored light. But the magical beasts around that flower swamp are extremely ferocious, we only looked but did not dare to get close. I haven’t been there for a long time, don’t know if this flower is still there."
Kaelen patiently answered: "This is the Lac Bird, it is the Guardian Divine Bird of our tribe. And this flower is a lotus flower, considered the symbol of Crimson." He was extremely interested in the red lotus flower Valmot mentioned: "Do you still remember the way there? Can you describe it? I really want to see it with my own eyes."
Valmot nodded: "I remember, anyway that place is quite near the mist area. Later returning I will redraw the path for you. But that is the path in my memory more than six hundred years ago, how it has changed I am not sure."
Kaelen nodded: "Just roughly is fine."
He placed an empty magic stone onto two bracelets, transmitted a sliver of his mental power into them, handed one to Sane, telling him to run a bit far away before activating it. He himself activated the remaining one, waiting silently.
A moment later the magic stone on the bracelet blinked a green light, he transmitted his Magical Energy into it, from the bracelet suddenly emitting Sane’s clear voice:
[Hello, hello? Baby can you hear my voice?]
"I hear it? Do you hear my voice clearly? Where are you right now?"
[I hear it, very clearly. I am halfway up a mountain about half a day’s journey from the tribe. Do you need me to go further?]
"That is good enough, come back. Oh right, on the way conveniently pick a few oranges for me, lately drinking little water my mouth is a bit dry."
[Got it!]
Sane did not disconnect, but walked back while talking; every whistling wind sound mixed with bird songs along with people greeting each other was captured clearly. Until he arrived home, the Magical Energy inside the empty magic stone was still very abundant. Considering the consumption rate, Kaelen calculated mentally one magic stone could maintain for three days.
If wanting to contact the children, he only needed to prepare a large amount of magic stones filled with his and Sane’s mental power and Magical Energy and it would do.
The two old men had been petrified for a long time, sitting quietly without moving at all. Not until Sane returned did they hurriedly pounce to grab the communication bracelets, each monopolizing one. The mechanism of transmitting Divine Energy and Martial power was the same, therefore just a person on this side transmitting martial power into it and they could converse.
That night the two old men sat at two ends of the tribe opening the communication bracelets gossiping with each other all night; by morning their spirits were still as buoyant as if the people staying up all night arguing noisily were not them.
Kaelen made six communication bracelets; he gave one to Sane, kept one for himself, the two Sages one each, one kept to contact the children and the people in the tribe, and one sent to the Martial God Shrine for the Temple Master. It was said the two Temple Master brothers fought each other to compete for it, in the end the Temple Master won. The Holy Son returned bitterly, gathered all the financial resources in the Holy Son’s Shrine, throwing it to Aegis demanding to exchange for a communication bracelet.
For the sake of the overly abundant resources, Kaelen and Sane stayed up all night again to craft one urgently, even specially custom-designing it into a White Tiger bracelet matching the Holy Son’s species. It was said, the Holy Son receiving the bracelet was endlessly joyous, immediately putting it on and wandering before the Temple Master’s eyes twenty times, until the Temple Master could not bear it anymore and kicked him far away did he finally stop.
That matter Kaelen only heard of but did not witness with his own eyes, how many parts true how many parts false he could not verify.
Ten defensive necklaces, Kaelen kept six separately for his children, the remaining four he gave each Sage one each, the remaining two the two of them kept for themselves.
Defensive magical artifacts were consumable items; every time opening a defense was a lotus petal dissipating, until all eight petals were lost the necklace would just be an ordinary decorative item. In case of encountering a sneak attack from a Demigod or Saint stage powerhouse, all eight lotus petals would fully bloom, blocking a fatal strike, after that completely shattering.
This was already considered an extremely strong defensive magical artifact. In combat or fleeing, just blocking this one fatal strike was recovering a portion of a chance of survival or turning the tables; truly a treasure sought but unattainable.
As for how to send these items back to the children, Sane had already finished thinking. He discussed with the two Chiefs of the Aegis tribe, dispatching one thousand people through the teleportation array to the Northern continent, then going together to Crimson in the Southern continent to learn and exchange experiences, shortly called ’studying abroad’.
The duration was six months to a year, not counting travel time.
The two Chiefs naturally approved immediately, hurriedly going to gather bright personnel for this ’studying abroad’ trip.
And this time, Sage Solomon also participated in the trip.
"Firstly, I am someone who clearly understands the teleportation array; I go on this trip wanting to establish an anchor right at Crimson, so you brats can return whenever you like. Secondly, my old self wants to take advantage of still being healthy, to travel and visit all over the beastman continent, recording what I see and hear for future generations."
His reasoning was extremely eloquent; the two Chiefs and the Aegis tribe members could not stop him, having to accept it. Valmot patted his old friend’s shoulder:
"Old man, go see the world in my stead, don’t forget to contact me frequently!"
"Of course old man, later when I successfully create an anchor at Crimson you also go there with me..."
Everything was settled just like that. The third month of spring, the Aegis tribe’s ’studying abroad’ group including Sage Solomon departed for the Northern continent, opening the first diplomatic path connecting the continent halves together.
