The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend

Chapter 1003 - Wind Against Light, A Fatal Clash

  • Next Chapter

The Light God King watched wave after wave of his units drown beneath the skeleton sea’s bone tide. Entire districts of buildings crumbled under its advance.

Naturally, he was livid. This was his home turf, the place where his core race lived. It was a paradise built with an astronomical amount of resources. Now it was being torn apart before his eyes, and every loss cut him to the bone.

His core race fought hard, though. As the skeleton sea pushed forward, nearly every Microcosm Light Mage Lord worked together to raise walls of light. These barriers dramatically slowed the skeleton sea’s advance.

Han Wu’s elite units seized the opportunity and launched targeted strikes against the Light Mage Lords. Every fallen unit meant one fewer barrier and allowed the skeleton sea to advance faster.

The Light God King surveyed the battlefield below. His gaze first landed on his two Subcosm Light Mage Emperors. They were locked in combat with the Pride Dark Tyrannosprite King and the Wrath War Tyrannosprite King. Neither side could break the deadlock.

He also spotted two zones of absolute devastation within his divine realm. Steely and the Supreme Power were at the center of each one, demonstrating exactly what absolute domination looked like. Even Light Mages stacked with dozens of Divine Skills were as fragile as paper under those two. They were crushed without resistance.

In Steely’s and the Supreme Power’s eyes, the Light Mages were nothing more than ants to be swept aside by the dozens.

Han Wu’s other Microcosm units fought just as hard. They picked off Light Mage Lords one by one and pushed the skeleton sea forward.

Han Wu’s Slaughter Jurisdiction reacted violently to the relentless slaughter. Its development rate climbed rapidly. At the same time, the deaths of countless Light Mage released enormous amounts of Death Energy. Han Wu absorbed it all, and a new Death Microcosm formed within his consciousness.

Watching his core units die en masse, the Light God King realized that if he didn’t eliminate Han Wu’s troublesome elite units soon, the skeleton sea would become unstoppable, and his core race would be devastated.

As such, he decided to spare no expense to destroy Han Wu’s elite units.

Rows of Microcosm projections appeared around the Light God King. Arranged together, they formed a glittering river of stars. He reached into the river and plucked out a single Microcosm. Infused with the power of his Light Jurisdiction, the Microcosm transformed into a Spear of Victory and locked onto Han Wu’s core unit, Dark Locust.

Dark Locust was a Microcosm fighter. The instant he was locked on, he could feel the terrifying power and speed contained within the Spear of Victory. He knew there was no dodging it.

Before the spear could hit him, Dark Locust chose to Self-Detonate. The explosion devastated everything around him, but failed to shatter the Spear of Victory. A single Microcosm-forged spear was that resilient.

Whether Dark Locust had Self-Detonated willingly or been forced into it, it made no difference to the Light God King. He counted it as a kill. Without hesitation, he forged dozens more Spears of Victory from individual Microcosms and launched them at Han Wu’s remaining Microcosm units.

Every spear flew as fast as a streak of light. Only a handful of Han Wu’s units managed to dodge or block the attacks. Sword God Akanzor and Bow God Bart were among the survivors. The rest had been pierced clean through. Then the Microcosms within each spear detonated on impact and blew their bodies apart.

Han Wu’s forces suffered devastating losses in an instant. By the time he realized what was happening, it was already too late. Numerous of his elite Microcosm units had been wiped out by the Spears of Victory.

Even though their souls were inscribed on Revival Stones, reviving them still required time. They wouldn’t be able to fight for Han Wu again anytime soon.

“Damn it!” Han Wu cursed. He hadn’t expected the Light God King to have such a trump card.

Each attack had cost the Light God King a Microcosm, but the exchange had been more than worthwhile. He had eliminated dozens of Han Wu’s Microcosm fighters. Strictly speaking, he had come out ahead.

Pleased with the results, the Light God King turned his attention to Steely and the Supreme Power. They had already pushed deep into his divine realm.

Recognizing their strength, he drew out twenty Microcosms at once, divided them into two groups, and forged each group into a Spear of Victory.

A ten-Microcosm Spear of Victory possessed unimaginable power. It traveled faster than light, and neither Steely nor the Supreme Power had any chance to dodge. The moment they realized they were locked on, all they could do was brace for impact.

The Supreme Power gathered all its energy and hastily formed a barrier to block the incoming spear. Even so, a ten-Microcosm Spear of Victory was too powerful. It punched through the barrier and buried itself in the Supreme Power’s frame. The ten Microcosms within detonated simultaneously, blasting away nearly half its frame.

Although its combat power plummeted, V was still at the controls. Drawing on his deep understanding of the Supreme Power’s design, his data analysis, and the Alchemy Ring’s effects, he prevented the Supreme Power from being destroyed. It immediately started absorbing metal elements from the surrounding area and repaired itself at a visible pace.

Steely fared much better. His comprehension of the sword had reached an incredibly deep level, and his instincts were razor-sharp. The instant he sensed the powerful attack locking onto him, his muscles reacted on pure instinct. He activated the Obsidrum Warmaster bloodline at maximum speed, and all of his Obsidrum condensed into a massive blade. He then swung it directly at the incoming Spear of Victory.

A full-powered Obsidrum Judgment collided against a ten-Microcosm Spear of Victory in midair, and the two forces ground violently against each other. The recoil was tremendous.

Steely gripped the massive blade with all one hundred of his arms and held firm until he completed the strike. The blade shattered, and cracks split open across every one of Steely’s hundred arms. The Spear of Victory shattered as well. Steely had won.

For the Light God King, this was only a minor setback.

For Steely, it was a feat that defied the heavens. A surge of pride and the insight gained from that collision triggered a sudden epiphany. The power of wind gathered around him of its own accord. It came in wisps and threads before rapidly swelling into a world-ending storm.

Han Wu sensed the change, and his eyes went wide. In that single clash, Steely had comprehended the Hurricane Jurisdiction’s embryo. It propelled his strength forward by a massive leap. Steely had officially reached the Subcosm rank!
