Chapter 436 - 418: Visiting Relatives

"Well? Did you find it?"

Vice Commander Lin didn’t ask about her hair and cut off the others’ questions.

He was getting a headache. He’d thought it was just the color of her eyes and hair that had changed; he hadn’t expected there to be other special traits.

’Looks like I’ll have to report this to the higher-ups when we get back.’

Yun Jiao nodded. "I found it."

Instantly, everyone grew excited.

"You really found it? That’s great!"

But now, the problem was how to salvage the plane from the seabed.

They had hoisting machinery on board, but Yun Jiao could see that the chains weren’t long enough.

Yun Jiao thought for a moment. "Give me the chains."

She stood at the bow and started to sing.

Yun Jiao’s song summoned the Humpback Whales.

The massive Humpback Whales appeared just as she was about to finish her song.

The powerful, piercing calls of the Humpback Whales echoed as they quickly surrounded the ship.

Yun Jiao said, "Uncle Lin, go ahead and throw the chains down."

Vice Commander Lin snapped out of it and nodded quickly. "Right, right, right..."

After the chains were thrown into the sea, the Humpback Whales that had been circling the ship all dove down, taking the chains with them.

Yun Jiao jumped in after them.

"I’m having them go get the plane. You guys just wait here."

Once the sea was calm again, Vice Commander Lin wiped the water from his face and looked at the others, who were still staring blankly at the surface.

"When we get back, I want all of you to keep your mouths shut. Don’t go around talking about her."

"Yes, sir!"

But...

"Vice Commander Lin... is she... is she really human?"

"Isn’t she one of the legendary Merfolk?"

She’d be a perfect match if she had a tail instead of legs.

Vice Commander Lin was curious too, but he maintained a calm facade.

Yun Jiao led the Humpback Whales to the plane’s location. She took out the chains, which had hooks and clasps on either end.

She found places to attach the hooks, then wrapped the other ends around the Humpback Whales’ tails.

They had anticipated the depth, so the chains they’d prepared were very long—more than enough to be tied to the whales.

There were five chains in total, each to be pulled by one of five adult Humpback Whales.

She did one final check, and after making sure everything was secure, she swam to the front.

"Let’s go."

The Humpback Whales pulled in unison. The plane was huge, but five of them could move it.

Moreover, Yun Jiao was underneath, helping to guide it and prevent any mishaps.

This took much longer than her initial descent.

It was a full hour later before the people on the ship saw the Humpback Whales break the surface.

"They’re surfacing! They’re surfacing!!!"

Now they were certain: that kid was definitely not human!

Hearing this, the men still in diving suits immediately jumped into the water.

Following the chains down from the whales’ tails, they quickly spotted the plane.

The only problem was how to get the thing onto the ship.

The chains were tied to the whales’ tails and would be difficult to detach. All of them put together didn’t have the strength for it.

So in the end, Vice Commander Lin hurried back to get more chains.

Using the crane, they attached the ship’s own chains to the plane, allowing them to tow it.

The whales’ tails were finally freed.

After completing the mission, Yun Jiao didn’t leave with Vice Commander Lin and his men. Instead, she took the Humpback Whales to find them a meal.

It was much easier for her to find schools of fish now.
