Yun Jiao simply packed the scattered items into a burlap sack.

Then she sat on the Humpback Whale’s back and started to eat.

’Oh, right. There’s still this pocket watch hanging around my neck. I’d completely forgotten about it.’

She took it off and opened it, and this time she could clearly see the faces of the two people in the photograph.

’Huh? Why does that woman look so familiar?’

They were both foreigners. Yun Jiao had only met a handful of foreigners in her life, but her memory was sharp, and she quickly placed the woman’s face.

She looked quite a bit like Eva.

’Come to think of it, Eva did invite me to her home,’ she mused. ’And she gave me that beautiful gem, too.’

’This woman must be related to Eva somehow, right?’

’I’m not sure. I’ll have to ask about it next time I see her.’

Yun Jiao quickly put the matter out of her mind and stowed the pocket watch.

On her fifth day there, Yun Jiao looked at the various chests piled together—some were wood, others iron.

And then there were the burlap sacks, filled to the brim.

She put her hands on her hips in satisfaction.

’I worked so hard to find all of this.’

"Time to go home, time to go home..."

Yun Jiao couldn’t wait to get home, so she called over the Humpback Whales.

For the past few days, all she had done was search for treasure in the shipwreck and scrape barnacles off the Humpback Whales. It was exhausting.

But the results were excellent. Several of the Humpback Whales had been cleaned, and as per their prior agreement, they were more than happy to help her carry her haul back.

With no rope to tie them down, Yun Jiao had to move the chests one by one to the surface and then place them on the Humpback Whales’ backs.

She had been so proud looking at the mountain of chests before, but now, her pride had completely vanished.

"AGH!!! How long is this going to take?!"

’This is going to kill me!’

Thankfully, the killer whales could help a little, but there was a limit to what they could do.

They could only carry the burlap sacks in their mouths.

After a full day of work, even with her incredible strength, Yun Jiao was utterly exhausted.

Furthermore, her expression soured at the thought that on the way back, she’d have to unload everything every time the Humpback Whales needed to stop and hunt for food.

"This is enough for now. I’ll come back for the rest next time."

’Next time, I’ll come by boat with my dads.’

’Can’t get too greedy.’

Yun Jiao wasn’t worried about the shipwreck being discovered. It was simply too deep and too dark down there.

Her godfather had once said that the diving equipment he used was all imported and considered extremely advanced.

Yun Jiao was certain that even with gear more advanced than that, it would be impossible for anyone to reach such depths.

Since she hadn’t opened the chests, taking them back would be like opening a series of blind boxes.

’Then again, that’s part of the thrill,’ she thought.

"Alright, let’s head home."

Sitting on the big whale’s head, Yun Jiao hummed a happy tune.

A huge, round sun was setting behind them, and with birds circling in the sky, the scene looked like something out of a painting.

The Humpback Whales were a bit slow, so the return journey took longer than the trip out.

During the trip, Yun Jiao finished scraping the barnacles off the remaining Humpback Whales.

She also rescued a few dolphins that were trapped in fishing nets.

On the second day of their journey back, Yun Jiao sensed an impending change in the weather.

"A storm’s about to hit! Dive! Quick!"

The chests were quite heavy, so even without being tied down, they wouldn’t fall off the Humpback Whales’ backs as long as the whales didn’t roll over on purpose.

And even if one did fall, Yun Jiao could quickly swim over, retrieve it, and put it back.

Not long after Yun Jiao led the Humpback Whales to dive, the once-clear sky gradually grew dim.

RUMBLE...

The sound of thunder echoed as the wind began to pick up.

The once-calm surface of the sea suddenly began to churn and roll erratically, like a piece of windswept gauze.

Just then, Yun Jiao felt a strange, mysterious sensation.

Lost in thought, she instructed the killer whales and Humpback Whales, "You all stay here and don’t wander off. I’m going to go see what’s happening."

With that said, she had already darted away.

The wind and rain lashed the sea, and with the rolling waves, this ocean that had nurtured countless fishermen had become a dangerous place.

Following the sensation, Yun Jiao finally reached its source.

It was a boat.

A fishing boat, to be precise.

Someone on the boat was crying out.

"Oh, heavens! Jianye! Jianye, where are you...?"

Yun Jiao swam closer and found a person whose foot was tangled in a fishing net, sinking into the sea.

With no time to think, she quickly swam to the man’s side and cut the net from his foot with her dagger.

Then, grabbing him by the collar, she swam for the surface.

The man she was pulling had already lost consciousness.

Yun Jiao surfaced in front of the crying woman.

The woman was stunned into silence for a moment.

"Here. Is this the person you were looking for?"

Seeing the man in Yun Jiao’s grasp, the woman forgot everything else. Crying and wailing, she rushed to help pull him aboard the boat.

What followed was a frantic round of first aid.

Once the man had coughed up all the seawater, the woman threw her arms around him, crying.

"You scared me to death! If something had really happened to you, how would the children and I survive?!"

After she had calmed down a bit, the woman remembered the young girl who had saved her husband.

But when she looked around, there was no one to be found.

"That girl... she was so beautiful she didn’t seem real. And the dress she was wearing looked like something only the immortals in heaven would wear. Do you think... do you think we actually met one of the sea’s immortals? Could she have been a lesser immortal sent by Mazu herself?"

The couple immediately knelt on the deck of their boat and began to pray.

Meanwhile, Yun Jiao was already dragging the fishing net behind her as she headed back.

’The fish have all escaped, but I can’t just leave this net in the ocean.’

’What if it traps other fish later on?’

She tied a knot over the hole in the net. With a full day left before she reached home, she decided she might as well see what she could catch to eat, tossing whatever she found into the net to take back with her.

When they were about half a day’s journey from Bailong Village, Yun Jiao had the Humpback Whales stop.

’If I just waltz back with all this stuff, word will get around everywhere.’

’I need to find a place to hide everything first.’

The location was an easy choice: the island she was planning to buy.

So, she led the Humpback Whales toward the island.

With much huffing and puffing, she moved the cargo from their backs onto the island.

"I’m exhausted. I hope you all don’t disappoint me."

Yun Jiao patted the chests, then found a hidden spot and concealed them.

Then she went to hunt with the whales.

The whales ate small fish, while Yun Jiao went after the large fish that were mixed in with the schools, preying on them in turn.

’A huge yellow croaker. Got it.’

’A tuna. Caught one.’

’A Su Mei Fish. Got it.’

Soon, Yun Jiao had caught a good number of delicious and expensive fish, tossing them into her net.

Seeing that the whales would be a while longer, she dove back into the sea to gather other seafood.

Her main targets were the large, tasty ones.

She also picked up two sizable coconut-like conches and grabbed any other large sea snails she happened upon.

Things that would be a rare find for others were as easy for Yun Jiao to gather as picking flowers in her own backyard.

Yun Jiao only stopped when the Humpback Whales, having eaten their fill, came to find her. By then, she was pulling a net bag that was many times her own size.
