Chapter 299: The Feeling of Push-Back

No matter how long he stared, she was still the same person.

She was still that short, tiny little thing with fair, delicate skin—a child who looked so frail.

It was all so surreal.

He followed Yun Chen Nan and watched them toss a rope down. Yun Jiao tied the end to the fish’s tail, and it took several of them working together to haul the massive Cow Harbor Tuna up.

Before this, Chu An had even suspected the fish wasn’t as heavy as it looked.

But in reality, the thing was even heavier than it looked!

After they pulled up the other fish in the same manner, everyone worked together to pull Yun Jiao back up.

Jumping down had been easy, but getting back up was a bit more difficult. After all, it was a bit of a climb.

Once she was back on the island, Yun Jiao was wringing water from her clothes while Yun Chen Nan dried her hair. Suddenly, Chu An squatted down and grabbed her little arm.

"I don’t get it," Chu An said. "Jiaojiao’s little arm is no different from any other kid’s. Look, it’s so soft you can make a dimple just by pinching it. How can she have so much strength?!"

Wang Hongfei gave it a squeeze too and couldn’t have agreed more with Chu An.

Everyone worked together to haul the two barely-living Cow Harbor Tuna onto the island and bleed them.

"Nah, this thing sells for cheap. They’re pretty rare, but a wholesaler would probably only buy them for seventy or eighty cents a pound."

Yun Linhe clicked his tongue. "The meat of the Cow Harbor Tuna isn’t very good. It’s too fishy, so it sells for a low price."

Once the two big fish were loaded onto the boat, everyone was getting hungry.

They foraged for ingredients right there on the island, washed them, and tossed them all into the pot to cook together.

Chu An, Yun Jiao’s two older cousins, and Wang Hongfei all eagerly pitched in to help.

The only downside was how strong the sun was, but luckily, there were coconut trees on the island.

Yun Linhe deftly scrambled up a coconut tree and picked a few large coconuts.

With a few sharp WHACKS, Yun Jiao split them open with her knife.

Eating instant noodles and seafood while drinking the naturally sweet and refreshing coconut water, everyone chatted and laughed in a wonderful atmosphere.

After they had eaten their fill, they gathered some more mussels and sea snails from the island, and then it was time to head back.

The boat was piled high with their haul, and rowing it back would be strenuous work.

Chu An was just thinking that he should pay close attention and learn how to row, so he could at least help lighten the Yun family’s burden, when Yun Jiao showed up riding a killer whale.

While Yun Linhai and the others had been foraging on the island, she had run off into the sea to find the killer whales.

"The killer whales are here."

"Jiaojiao."

Chu An looked in the direction Yun Chen Nan was pointing and saw Yun Jiao riding a killer whale. His jaw dropped once again.

When Yun Chen Nan noticed the person beside him had gone too quiet, he turned to look. Yep, the guy was completely stunned.

"Snap out of it. Find something sturdy on the boat to hold onto in a bit. Otherwise, you’ll be the one suffering when you get tossed around, slam into something, or get thrown into the sea."

Chu An just stared blankly. "Huh?" he managed.

"What do you mean?"

Yun Chen Nan pointed at the killer whales. Chu An followed his gaze and saw them expertly maneuvering to the stern of the boat.

Yun Jiao called out, "Dad, Uncle, are you ready?"

Yun Linhai and the others found some rope and tied the younger members of the group to the boat.

"Hold on tight now, and don’t be scared."

Hearing them say that, Chu An couldn’t help but feel nervous.

But oddly enough, he also felt a thrill of anticipation.

Once everything was ready, Yun Linhai yelled, "Jiaojiao, we’re good to go!"

Yun Jiao took out the whistle hanging around her neck and blew it. In perfect unison, the killer whales behind the boat surged with power.

Instantly, their boat shot forward with the speed of a motorboat.

Everyone on the boat was thrown backward. That damn g-force!

"AHHHH!!!"

It was the first time riding a "boat" like this, so Chu An, Wang Hongfei, and even the two cousins from the Shen family couldn’t help but scream.

But their screams were different. Chu An’s was one of pure terror at first, while the others’ held a note of laughter.

Although Wang Hongfei had never been on a killer whale-pushed boat before, he had ridden a killer whale.

The brothers Shen Kuan and Shen Xiuyuan had also dealt with the killer whales before.

The boat was incredibly fast. At first, Chu An was terrified, but once he got over the initial shock, his fear gave way to a sense of thrill.

Chu An stared at Yun Jiao up ahead, "racing" her killer whale across the sea, and felt like his entire worldview was cracking.

’Is Yun Jiao really not some kind of nature spirit or one of those immortals from a novel? How can the difference between two people be this huge?!’

He also finally understood what Yun Chen Nan had meant earlier when he’d said, "You’ll see when it’s time to go back."

’So that’s why their family dared to take the boat out this far. It’s because they "cheat" on the way back!’

Up ahead, Yun Jiao was performing like an acrobat. One moment she was sitting, the next she was standing on the killer whale’s back. She would occasionally dive into the sea with the whale, only to be launched into the air by its head before executing a perfect dive back into the water.

The series of moves was dazzling to watch.

Chu An held on tightly to the side of the boat, his eyes glued to Yun Jiao.

His mind was just a constant stream of ’Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap’.

’This trip was so worth it! Yun Chen Nan’s sister is ridiculously amazing!’

’Why isn’t she *my* sister? If she were my sister, I’d be bragging about her from elementary school all the way through college!’

These acrobatic moves Yun Jiao and the killer whales were performing were actually a new game she had come up with. After starting dance lessons, she’d had a flash of inspiration and discussed it with her whale friends.

For now, there were only one or two simple moves, but they were still very entertaining to watch.

’I’ve already figured it out,’ she thought. ’Once I officially start dance lessons with my teacher, I’ll find a way to combine those dance moves with the ocean to create a whole new style of dance.’
