The Natives of This World Are Fierce
Chapter 307 - 303: The Best Doctors of Dawn
Chapter 307: Chapter 303: The Best Doctors of Dawn
"He moved! I saw his arm twitch!"
Just as everyone subconsciously looked up, Mani, who had been staring intently at Peter, cried out, drawing everyone’s attention back to the wounded man.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK...
The knocking sounded again. Peter’s left hand and both of Niso’s hands trembled.
"It’s the Dawn Association!! It must be!"
Old Noeman grew excited again.
Still retaining a basic sense of caution, they left Old Lensa and Mani to watch the wounded. The three men of the Noeman family went up to the ground floor, then restored the floor of the second storeroom behind the kitchen to its original state.
Across the vast hall, a faint light seemed to be visible through the few glass panes of the main door.
’Could the Super-Tuning Team have found something?’
Carl’s heart skipped a beat. He didn’t think he had left any openings, and when he remembered the knocking and the wounded men’s reactions, he dismissed his worry.
He was about to step forward and open the door, but his father had already beaten him to it.
Frank and Carl hurried to follow.
The knocking stopped, as if the people outside knew they were inside and preparing to open the door.
After a moment’s hesitation, Old Noeman opened the door, his eyes widening the instant it swung open.
The heartbeats of the three Noeman men instantly surpassed the peak they’d reached while rescuing the others.
Old Noeman had imagined the scene of meeting a real Dawn Member countless times, had rehearsed how he would introduce himself countless times, but both of today’s encounters had completely upended his senses. Well, the first one hadn’t just upended them—it had nearly burst his eardrums. This second encounter brought a shock of a different kind, but of the same high intensity.
His mind, fumbling for the right words, couldn’t figure out how to greet them. The beings before him were likely far more powerful than the previous two Dawn Members—that much was visually, intuitively obvious.
Outside the door stood three "people."
One, though their form was blurry, possessed a beauty that could not be ignored. Brilliant red hair floated around her as if there were no wind, like it was submerged in invisible water, creating a graceful, undulating effect.
One, a mysterious figure cloaked and hooded in a black robe, seemed to be shrouded in a deep crimson vortex. The mere sight of him made one’s blood pressure rise unnaturally.
The most conspicuous was a magical being, much taller than a normal person, who seemed to be composed of fluorescent light. From its wide, cowled hood that obscured its face, it constantly radiated a powdery luminescence. Though humanoid in shape, it was unlike anything of the mortal world. A pair of eyes made of light shone with a holy and fantastical color.
They were none other than Brown of the French Branch, along with the Red Demoness and Holy Spirit, who had come to France through a Secret Realm and were preparing to travel from there to De Yi Country to inscribe a new one.
Relying on the Red Demoness’s miraculous Sound Illusion Ability, she had brought Brown and Shadow onto the earliest flight to Munich, completely unimpeded.
"Gentlemen of the Noeman Family, I don’t think now is the time to be shocked. The Knight Commander is putting a lot of pressure on me!"
Recalling the phone call from his Mentor, Baru, Brown spoke up at the right moment, snapping the three men in the room out of their stupor.
Even though he was now a Magic Controller, he still believed his Mentor, Baru, was fully capable of beating him to a pulp.
This sentence was also his way of telling the Noeman Family that they were from the Dawn Association.
"You know about us—oh, I’m sorry, business first! Come with us, quickly! The two of them are very badly injured!!"
In the basement, Mani and Old Lensa were waiting anxiously. After a few minutes, they finally heard footsteps.
As the newcomers entered the basement, the expressions on their faces changed from relief to shock—especially Old Lensa, who looked utterly horrified.
He pointed forward, mouth agape, unable to speak. He looked from Mani to Old Noeman, his movements clumsy.
He was tempted to slap himself in the face just to confirm that tonight wasn’t all a dream.
Old Noeman quickly walked over, supported him by the arm, and whispered in his ear.
"Uncle Lensa, this is the origin of the Noeman Clan’s history of madness. This is the ’Truth’ we’ve been searching for."
With a reassuring and affirmative gaze, Old Noeman, filled with excitement and a touch of pride, met Old Lensa’s eyes and nodded.
The three reinforcements from Dawn gave a polite nod to the others in the room, then went straight to the wounded men. Old Lensa and Mani quickly backed away to give them space.
"Soul Burning Will... Mentor will be ecstatic!"
Brown exchanged a look with Holy Spirit and remarked with a sigh.
After so long, the Silent Knight Order was finally about to get two new Official Knights.
The Flower of Life and their residual Magic Power had kept the two wounded men alive, and the subsequent IV drip and wound dressing had also helped to some extent.
Holy Spirit glanced at the box of ice to the side, which contained Peter’s severed arm.
"Let’s begin."
"Yes!"
Old Noeman cautiously edged closer to the Red Demoness, who was standing nearby.
"Your Excellency, will they..."
"Don’t worry. In a way, the two before you are among the finest doctors in the Dawn Association."
As the Red Demoness finished speaking, Brown and Holy Spirit began to act.
As Magic Power washed over them, the wounded men on the floor automatically levitated a meter into the air. The gauze and sutures from the four-hour-long bandaging job all fell away on their own.
The chilled, severed arm also flew out.
Not a single drop of blood was shed during the process. The blood and other bodily fluids within the wounded men obediently remained within their vital organs.
Countless shimmering Magic Silk Threads floated out from Holy Spirit’s sleeves. They should have been invisible to the naked eye, but perhaps to reassure the onlookers, their magical nature was deliberately put on display.
Two petals of the Flower of Life turned to powder in Brown’s hands. Amidst a fragrant scent, the powder flowed into the wounded men’s mouths and onto some of their external wounds.
Frank glanced at Carl, who looked away guiltily, not meeting his brother’s gaze. Had the two of them really used more than a dozen petals before?
With a mere thought from Holy Spirit, countless threads wrapped around Peter and Niso, weaving through their horrific wounds and torn tendons.
Even Peter’s severed arm flew back to the base of its owner’s right arm. Wrapped in the threads, it was reattached as if an intricate sweater were being knitted back together.
At that moment, Brown pointed at the severed arm from a distance, and the blood inside Peter’s body immediately flowed into the limb, re-establishing circulation.
In just over ten seconds, the Dawn Seal originally branded on his right arm slowly faded and then "vanished."
The Red Demoness, like a commentator for the audience, spoke in a soft, melodious tone.
"For an official member branded with the Dawn Seal, the Day of Dawn on their right palm will only reveal its true form when directed by their own will, or upon their death. Of course, a special situation like this, while rare, is also a possibility."
In the time it took her to say those few sentences, Holy Spirit had already begun repairing all sorts of inconspicuous internal damage in Peter and Niso, including cleaning out ruptured organ fragments and suturing damaged viscera.
The permeation of Magic Power made the efficiency and results absolutely astonishing.
A little over two minutes later, the Magic Silk Threads were weaving across the surface of the wounds, pulling the torn edges of muscle and tissue together at a magical speed. They then moved across the skin at a high frequency and velocity, smoothing and sealing the wounds.
As someone who had practiced medicine for decades, Old Lensa was in utter disbelief. The sealed wounds were so smooth they looked like fine red lines drawn on the original skin with a fountain pen.
The effects of this dual-action treatment—restoration and circulatory dredging—combined with the Flower of Life and the supplementary Vermilion Fruit, were immediate. The wounded men’s own powerful Soul Power was also feeding back to support their physical bodies.
After the procedure, which lasted just over two minutes, Peter and Niso’s breathing grew steady and strong. They looked more like they were sleeping than on the verge of death.
"Alright. Their physical constitutions are excellent. They’ll recover quickly once their bodily functions are fully restored, especially with the qualitative change in their Soul Power."
Brown and Holy Spirit withdrew their power at the same time, and the two wounded men slowly descended from the air back onto their floor mats.
"After they recover, thanks to the Soul Burning Will, their strength will increase dramatically in a short period. In other words, the Silent Knight Order will soon have two new monsters in its ranks."
Only after finishing all this did Brown and Holy Spirit turn to face the Noeman Family again.
"On behalf of the Dawn Association, we thank you for your efforts. Within reasonable limits, the Association can grant you one request."
"Don’t be in a hurry to state it. Think it over so you won’t have any regrets. As for now, we’re going to deal with that Demon."
Hearing this, Carl hurriedly stepped forward to speak.
"Um, if you’re referring to that monster, it was already shot down by the military. It crashed in a forest thirty kilometers west of Fiersby and should be cordoned off by the Super-Tuning Team by now."
Carl then briefly described what he knew.
"Good. That saves us some trouble."
COUGH... COUGH...
With a faint cough, Niso propped himself up, turned to the side, and spat out a mouthful of dust and clotted blood.
A few seconds later, Peter, who was beside him, tried to do the same, but he froze as he pushed himself up.
He stared at his right arm in disbelief.
"My arm!!"
"Yes, it’s restored. However, it would be best not to use your right arm at full strength for the next forty-eight hours."
The one who answered him was Holy Spirit.
’I didn’t expect them to wake up so quickly.’
Upon hearing the voice, Peter and Niso instinctively went on alert, but their rapidly returning Perception told them this was a reinforcement force from the Association.
’Three Magic Controllers showing up at once... they’re really giving that filthy Demon too much credit.’
After another ten minutes or so of explanations in the basement, everyone present had a general understanding of the situation.
However, when Peter and Niso learned that their entire reserve of Flower of Life petals had been used up, their expressions darkened.
During this time, the Noeman Family, including Old Lensa, had basically decided on their request.
"Your request is to rejoin the Dawn Association?"
Hearing Old Noeman’s courageous request, the present Dawn Members looked at them with expressions of understanding mixed with amusement, noticing that even Old Lensa wore the same hopeful look.
The Red Demoness spoke with a slight smile.
"Choose another one."
This sentence made the five of them panic for a moment, but what came next put their minds at ease.
"As former members of the ancient Dawn Association, by demonstrating sufficient courage and wisdom, the Noeman Family has already earned the right to return. There’s no need to waste a precious request on it. And yes, Mr. Lensa can be included!"
"Yes, yes!! Uncle Lensa is just like family to me!!!"
The Noemans were overcome with emotion, the men’s fists clenched tightly.
While Carl and the others were thrilled, they also looked at their father with complex emotions. After the last half-hour, their understanding of the situation had deepened significantly.
A world in crisis, the Dark Tide... beneath the surging undercurrents were the storm clouds of apocalypse. Their father was right. All those respectable "madmen" in the Noeman Clan’s past were right!
"I hope my children can join the Silent Knight Order."
After quietly conferring with Old Lensa, Old Noeman stated their new wish directly. The two of them were old; they would be content to join the Dawn Association and contribute what little they had left. The children were the real Hope.
Old Lensa also hoped that, through the Noeman Family, he could one day introduce his own children to the Dawn Association.
The power Peter and Niso had displayed was plain for all to see. After learning that they were members of the Silent Knight Order, the desire of Carl and the other two was palpable.
"This request... is hard for me to refuse... Participating in the full-term Knight training camp is indeed the fastest way to improve oneself."
Brown glanced at the Red Demoness, who had a strange expression, and Holy Spirit, whose expression was unreadable, before being the first to agree.
Not only were the five ordinary people filled with joy, but Niso and Peter also showed genuine, gratified smiles.
"Hahaha, a wise choice!!"
"That’s right, Frank. Looks like our relationship as classmates will no longer be limited to school. Hmm, this time, I’ll be your senior!"
