The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 379 - 179: "Unless You Bring a True Grand Mage...
"I know!"
Elise had a flash of inspiration and said, "Is there something wrong with this Night Watcher, too? Is he a fake?"
Sean: "..."
"Not quite."
’He’s probably real. But as for why the Night Watcher is in Sonaros State... that’s hard to say.’
But that wasn’t important.
What was important was that he, as the "leader," should help his subordinates resolve their emotional baggage at the right time.
Many people believe in separating work and life, but Sean felt that life encompassed work—that work was merely a part of life. Only when people had good lives could they work more happily.
Elise was completely lost. "Emotional baggage?"
Sean nodded, his tone profound. "There’s a saying: adversity reveals true feelings."
Before coming to Sonaros State, Sopea had returned to Krim State. He’d gotten into a huge fight with the Night Watcher over what happened last time. As a result, they hadn’t contacted each other at all recently, with both of them giving the other the silent treatment. Otherwise, the Night Watcher would have surely told Sopea he was coming to Sonaros State. It was obvious both of them were still fuming.
One was furious over a perceived "betrayal," while the other was angry at not being trusted.
But at the end of the day, they were still brothers—old brothers, at that. How could they truly sever their bond?
When the Night Watcher first appeared, Sopea had called him "Chairman."
That proved that even though Sopea claimed he wouldn’t return to the Long Night Union, he couldn’t actually let it go in his heart.
And upon seeing Sopea get injured, the Night Watcher had immediately used the Invisible Star Spell, furiously unleashing his ultimate attack. He was clearly genuinely enraged.
It was proof that Sopea and the Night Watcher still cared deeply for one another.
The longer you live, the more you realize how precious a lifelong friend is.
So, getting these two proud, stubborn old men to reconcile was simple. All they needed was the right opportunity.
And this was the perfect opportunity.
BANG!
Just as he expected.
A laugh like wind chimes, crisp and seductive, suddenly echoed from the darkness.
At the same time, the Night Watcher was sent flying backward. His Wizard Robe was torn to shreds, and his body was covered in bloody gashes, as if he’d been mauled by a wild beast.
Eleanor’s assessment had been correct.
The difference in Magic Power between them was too vast. Even within his own Magic Domain, the Night Watcher was no match for Bofunova.
Sean’s assessment had also been correct.
Seeing the Night Watcher crash to the ground, grievously wounded, Sopea’s eyes went red. He roared, "Chairman!"
The Night Watcher: "Sopea!"
Sopea: "Chairman, get up!"
The Night Watcher clutched his chest. "Don’t worry about me! Run!"
Sean: "..."
The Eleanor Sisters: "..."
’Why are they shouting at each other so dramatically?’
"Thinking of running already?"
"Didn’t you come here seeking revenge?"
"I haven’t even used my full strength yet."
Bofunova’s voice drifted through the darkness.
She couldn’t even be bothered to break the Night Watcher’s Domain Magic.
A cloud of blood-red mist appeared before Sopea, from which Bofunova’s figure slowly materialized. A sick smile spread across her face. "I have a peculiar hobby. I just love to take away what others hold dear."
"I see you two old men are quite close. You must care for each other a great deal, hmm?"
"In that case, how about I gouge out his eyes as well and mount them in the same frame as yours?"
Veins bulged on the Night Watcher’s temples. "You dare!"
Bofunova laughed. "Why wouldn’t I dare?"
"There’s nothing in this world I, Bofunova, wouldn’t dare to do."
"You bunch of Wizards, don’t you revere the Hall of Truth as a Holy Land and view Carl Black as a god?"
"Well, let me tell you something."
"Even if your god, Carl Black himself, were to show up today, I could make him come and warm my bed!"
The best way to humiliate someone is to insult their faith.
It didn’t matter if she was bluffing. As long as it enraged her opponents, it was working.
Breaking their spirit was far more satisfying than simply killing them, and it was one of Bofunova’s favorite pastimes.
But to the ears of a certain Mr. Black, those words had a very different ring to them.
Sean: "..."
’Wait, how did I get dragged into this?’
Eleanor also shot him a strange look.
Elise, meanwhile, whispered, fanning the flames, "Master, she’s looking down on you."
The Night Watcher was even more enraged. "Insolent!"
As a man of the Holy Sanctuary, the person he respected most in his life was Mr. Carl Black. Yet this woman had the audacity to declare she would make Mr. Carl Black warm her bed...
"You think you’re worthy?"
The Night Watcher endured the pain wracking his body and channeled his Magic Power, condensing a giant key that he hurled at Bofunova.
"And how many keys are *you* worth?"
Bofunova shattered the key with a wave of her hand, her smile mocking. "As for whether I’m worthy, why don’t you have him come and tell me himself?"
"Weren’t there rumors in the Void Technique Space a while back that your Master, Carl Black, had returned?"
"So where is he?"
"Where is he now?"
"You’ve followed him loyally for lifetimes. Now that you’re in trouble, why hasn’t he come to save you?"
"None of your damn business!"
Sopea cursed.
Bofunova stood right in front of him, able to take his life and gouge out his eyes at any moment.
But far from being afraid, he broke into a gloating grin.
"You’re finished, Bofunova."
To mock Lord Blake to his face and demand he warm her bed... in all of history, Bofunova was the first to do so.
"I don’t know if I’ll be finished, but I know that *you* will be, Mr. Dream Builder." A cruel smile touched Bofunova’s lips as her two fingers began to glow with a bloody light, and she lunged toward Sopea’s eyes.
"Bofunova, you’re courting death!"
The Night Watcher sensed her attack. Magic Power erupted from his body as he unleashed several Magic Spells in rapid succession. But the spells were completely useless against Bofunova. Like stones skipping on water, they created ripples in the air before even reaching her, then dissipated completely.
