"Who wrote this?"

Elise asked.

"I don’t know," Koni said. "But the handwriting looks a little familiar."

On top of that, they were scheduled to go to war with the Kovloki Family at Ivan Pharmaceutical tomorrow. She hadn’t even finished her shopping; she just rushed back to tell Sean and the others about it.

"This can’t be a coincidence," Koni said.

"You did the right thing," Sean said. "There are no coincidences in this world."

Elvire furrowed her lovely brows. "Is this supposed to be a warning for us?"

"Or a threat?"

"I think it’s the former," Elise said. "After all, Koni finds the handwriting familiar."

Sean used Magic Power to conjure a pen. He made a couple of strokes in the air, then asked Koni, "Is it possible that the handwriting looks familiar not because it was written by someone you know, but because a stranger wrote in a style similar to someone you’re familiar with?"

Koni: "Huh?"

’A stranger writing in a familiar person’s handwriting?’

She was getting a little dizzy from the roundabout explanation and said with a slight blush, "Mr. Sean, could you please put it more simply...?"

’This is making me look so stupid.’

Actually, Elvire didn’t understand either, but she wouldn’t admit it. Instead, she took charge, shooting Sean a light glare. "Speak plainly. Don’t be so cryptic."

Sean asked, "Don’t you think this handwriting doesn’t look like it was written by a normal person?"

The words were all correct, but every stroke was very awkward and disjointed, not to mention messy. It looked like it was written by someone just learning to write, hesitating and thinking about how to form each letter as they went.

As he spoke, Sean conjured a blank sheet of paper. "Watch closely."

"Don’t go to Ivan Pharmaceutical... Run!"

He wrote the same words, then asked the women, "Look similar?"

Koni compared them carefully and said in surprise, "It does!"

"It’s a perfect match!"

Almost identical.

Elise: "So you’re the one who’s just learning to write?"

Sean: "?"

’You just won’t let any chance to roast me go by, will you?’

Sean shot Elise a look and said, "I wrote this with my left hand. What I’m trying to say is, writing with your non-dominant hand always looks like this crap."

"There’s more to it," Elvire, who had been observing closely, said. "Even your left-handed writing is neater than the writing on the note."

Both lines of text were quite ugly, but in comparison, Sean’s was a little easier on the eyes.

This wasn’t just a case of beauty being in the eye of the beholder. Elvire found it hard to describe the subtle difference. After thinking for a long time, she came up with a phrase: "Spatial awareness."

"Your writing has more spatial awareness than the writing on the note."

Sean and the others: "..."

’How can you get a sense of spatial awareness from looking at handwriting?’

But Elvire insisted, "In any case, the feeling is just different."

"Yes, yes," Elise teased. "No matter how your Mr. Sean writes, it’s always better looking than anyone else’s."

Elvire, slightly annoyed, replied, "I’m not joking with you."

Sean, however, took her words to heart. He mused, "If it’s really different, then it means the person who wrote this not only used their non-dominant hand but also added other difficulties for themselves to ensure they wouldn’t be recognized."

"So, that brings us to the question," Elise said. "Do we have any friends in Sonaros State?"

"Besides your beautiful neighbor and that ’male sister’."

Sean shook his head. "No."

At least, he didn’t.

This was also why he thought it was unlikely that an acquaintance was warning them.

It couldn’t have been Konina and Genduo either.

If it were really those two sisters, they would have come and told him directly if something was up, without needing to resort to such roundabout methods.

"Forget it, that’s not important either." Sean couldn’t figure out who it was and couldn’t be bothered to think about it anymore. Instead of dwelling on who wrote the note, it was better to think about what they meant by it.

Elise narrowed her eyes. "Could there be a mole among the people Lemondaff gathered?"

"That’s a possibility," Sean nodded.

And not a small one.

"Should we go ask Sister Genduo?" Koni suggested.

It was evening, so Lemondaff should be at the organization’s headquarters.

"No need," Sean said. "He knows better than we do that this operation needs to be kept secret. Whoever he recruits must be trustworthy. Otherwise, if things go south, we can run, but he and his White Bear Organization can’t."

From this perspective, Lemondaff would be even more cautious than they were.

"Assuming there’s a mole among the Wizards Lemondaff trusts, he wouldn’t believe us if we, as outsiders, told him. In fact, he might think we’re just messing with him," Sean said.

’What do you usually do when there’s a mole?’

’Cancel the operation and pick another date.’

Lemondaff went through all that trouble to gather everyone, only for them to say, "Let’s not do it, some other day."

’If it were me, I’d be pissed too.’

Elise, who had been standing quietly to the side, tilted her head and said, "But we don’t have to cancel the operation, right?"

"That’s right," Sean said. With Elise and her sister around, they had no reason to fear a mole. "So there’s even less reason to tell him."

Rather than giving verbal warnings, Sean preferred to let the facts speak for themselves. He’d wait for the mole to expose themselves, which would also be a good lesson for the Chairman.

"So, we proceed as planned?" Koni asked tentatively.

"Mhm."

Regardless of whether the note was a warning, a threat, or had some other, deeper purpose, they had no need to be afraid. In the face of absolute power, any conspiracy or trick was just a paper tiger, unable to withstand a single blow.

Sean smiled and patted the young woman’s shoulder. "Go on and do your own thing. Get some rest early tonight."

Koni was still wondering who could have left the note in the elevator, and whether it was really someone she knew. But then she thought about it, and Mr. Sean was right. Who cared about some mole? As long as the two Maid sisters lifted a finger, the mole would have to lie down and behave.
