The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 372 - 176: Flee
Elise raised a hand, a miniature tornado swirling in her palm. She gave Lemondaff a malicious look.
This was just an ordinary Tier Six Wind Element Magic Spell. Sean had told her not to reveal their full strength, but even so, the tiny tornado emanated a terrifying ripple of energy. The wind buffeted a blond young man at a nearby table, making his head wobble and sending the pages of a book fluttering wildly. It seemed that with a mere wave of her hand, the young woman could make the tornado expand countless times over and overturn the White Bear Organization’s entire headquarters.
"What do you think you’re doing!"
Lemondaff jumped back in fright, unleashing all of his Magic Power to form a dark red Magic Array in front of him. He watched Elise warily.
"I’m warning you, don’t do anything rash!"
Elise and the others had never seen this Magic Array before, but they could tell it was powerful—no weaker than the Wind Roll she had just conjured.
It looked as if the Chairman had been frightened into unleashing his ultimate move...
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
"HAHAHA." Sean suddenly burst out laughing. "Relax, Mr. Lemondaff. I was just joking."
A large bead of sweat formed on Lemondaff’s forehead. He snapped, "That joke wasn’t funny at all!"
"Didn’t you want us to prove ourselves?" Sean jerked his chin toward Elise. "Well? Now you’ve seen it."
Elise had only cast a simple spell.
Yet Lemondaff had been frightened into using his full strength.
The difference in their power was immediately obvious.
Lemondaff’s expression flickered. He’d never imagined that a young Maid who looked barely twenty years old could possess the power of a Tier Six—and a veteran Tier Six at that. ’Then, as her Master, just how powerful must Sean be?’
Yisha noticed Lemondaff’s old face flushing slightly as he stood there in awkward silence. She couldn’t have been more delighted. ’Now you know who the real clown is.’
’Serves you right!’
’That’s what the old coot gets for being so condescending. Let’s see if he dares to be so rude to us again.’
"All right, Elise. Stand down," Sean said with a wave of his hand.
"Yes, Master." Elise immediately retracted her Magic Power and obediently stepped back behind Sean.
Lemondaff seized the opportunity to withdraw his Magic Array, discreetly wiping sweat from his brow.
Sean asked again with a grin, "So, what’s your answer, Mr. Lemondaff?"
Lemondaff took a sip of tea to calm his nerves and compose himself. Only then did he ask, "How do you plan to strike?"
Sean sat back on the sofa and crossed his legs. "I hear the Kovloki Family has assets in this city?"
"They do." Lemondaff nodded. "Ivan Pharmaceutical."
It was the largest pharmaceutical company in Mortana and the surrounding region, managed directly by the Kovloki Family. They also acted as the de facto "Drug Administration Bureau"; for any other pharmaceutical company’s products to enter the market, they first had to pass Ivan’s inspection.
"Then we’ll start with Ivan Pharmaceutical."
Sean said, "We’ll start in Mortana and push our way straight to Kovloki Castle."
At those words, Lemondaff’s eye twitched violently.
’Do you think this is some drunk girl passed out at a bar? That you can just "push" your way through whenever you feel like it?’
"The route from Mortana to Kovloki Castle passes through over a dozen cities, with no fewer than thirty similar enterprises. Do you have any idea what that means?" Lemondaff asked.
Sean: "It means we’re going to get rich."
’The enterprises of a great family like the Kovloki are bound to have plenty of good stuff.’
Lemondaff: "?"
"We don’t have enough people!"
"Never mind that the Kovloki Witch Hunters are powerful and fully armed—their sheer numbers are enough to overwhelm us! Even if every Wizard on our side used Bursting Qi and took down ten of them for every one of us, we still wouldn’t make it to Kovloki Castle."
"There’s no way to avoid casualties in a large-scale battle like this. The Kovloki Family’s Witch Hunters will die, but so will our people. The difference is that the Kovloki Family has men to spare—they can afford the losses. We can’t."
"You’re right. So there is one thing I need you to do."
Sean said, "I want you, Mr. Lemondaff, to use your name to gather as many Wizards in Mortana as you can. This is your only chance—and theirs—to overthrow the Kovloki Family’s rule and become your own masters."
"The White Bear Organization is, after all, the only Wizard Union in this city. I trust you have that kind of pull, Mr. Lemondaff."
"What do you say?"
Lemondaff was silent.
’These young people aren’t just bold,’ he realized. ’They’re incredibly ambitious.’
’They’re just outsiders. The lives and well-being of the Wizards in Sonaros State are no concern of theirs. Yet they insist on rallying the Wizards for an "uprising" to destroy the Kovloki Family. If they don’t share some deep-seated blood feud with the Kovlokis, then there’s only one other possibility—’
’Sean and his group want the land of Sonaros State for themselves.’
"I understand." Lemondaff gave Sean a long, hard look, as if he had come to a decision. "Give me two days."
"In two days, we’ll meet at Ivan Pharmaceutical."
"Deal." Sean rose to his feet and extended a hand with a smile. "Here’s to a successful partnership."
"To a successful partnership." Lemondaff shook Sean’s hand, then called out, "Genduo, see our guests out."
"Yes, sir."
...
「A few minutes later.」
Sean and the others emerged from the White Bear Organization’s headquarters.
The sky had completely darkened.
Yisha took a deep breath of fresh air and sighed in relief. "It’s so much better up here."
After being underground for so long with the reek of smoke and alcohol, even the dusty air outside smelled sweet.
Elise, however, said to Sean, "I think you were too soft on him."
"Did you hear him at the end? ’See our guests out.’ It was like he couldn’t wait for us to get out of there."
