The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 364 173: "If I Can't Have It, I'll Destroy It
Konina thought Sean had "defected," seducing her into leading the Witch Hunters to them.
Seeing her over-the-top reaction, Sean quickly said, "Calm down."
"Think about it. If I were really with them, why would I only bother with you two?"
Two Tier One Novice Wizards, no less.
Why would I need to resort to lies and deception—and even deploy a Tier Six—for a problem that could be solved with a single bullet?
Sean was clearly trying to explain, but Konina heard a different implication and got even angrier. "It's one thing to screw us over, but you're looking down on us too?!"
Sean: "..."
"It's not that I'm looking down on you, it's just..."
"Fine."
Sean couldn't come up with an excuse and nodded. "Yeah. I'm looking down on you."
'Well, as a big shot who's Tier Three and almost Tier Four, it's perfectly reasonable for me to look down on two Newborns.'
Konina: "?"
Sean didn't waste time on further explanations. "In short, these two are our captives, not my 'friends' as you seem to think."
Elise seized the moment to kick Midi. "Hey, say something."
Midi cackled strangely. "Heh heh heh, that's right! Sean and I are friends!"
"We came here to take you White Bears down!"
Konina: "?"
Sean: "?"
"You think you're pretty funny, don't you?"
SLAP!
Sean smacked Midi on the back of the head. "Behave."
Midi clutched his head, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Sean, you... you hit me?! But we're friends..."
SLAP!
This time, it was Elise who hit him.
"Don't you get all chummy with me."
"Why don't you take a piss and look at your own reflection? With a face like yours, do you really think you're worthy of being friends with our writer?"
Midi: "?"
'We're all High-tier Wizards, so why are you still judging by appearances?'
Konina actually started to believe it.
Come to think of it, what Elise said wasn't wrong.
Putting aside the blond kid and the man in the suit, every last person in their group was gorgeous. Even Sopea, who was standing guard at the door and hadn't entered, had an air superior to that of an ordinary person. Although he was older and his face bore the marks of time, it wasn't hard to tell he had been handsome in his youth.
Of course, that included herself and Genduo.
Although Genduo was gay, his looks and figure were more than passable; otherwise, other men wouldn't have been interested in him.
Sean had noticed this as well.
But it wasn't that he was obsessed with looks.
He also had no idea why everyone around him was so good-looking.
'Maybe birds of a feather really do flock together?'
Konina mulled over how Sean and his group were treating the blond young man. She was still suspicious. "You really haven't defected to their side?"
"I haven't," Sean said seriously. "I can prove it to you."
He raised his hand. Magic Power roared from his palm, coalescing into a butcher's knife that he pressed directly against Midi's neck.
"Just say the word, and I'll kill him for you right here and now," Sean said.
He was always patient with friends, a firm believer in trading sincerity for sincerity.
Likewise, he never showed mercy to his enemies.
'Wasn't keeping these two alive precisely for a situation like this?'
This gave Midi a huge fright.
He hadn't expected Sean to draw a blade at the slightest provocation. His eyes widened. "Are you serious?!"
Sean stared at him coldly. "What do you think?"
"And stop acting like we're close. I don't make friends with animals."
"Fine," Midi said. One moment he seemed terrified, but the next he was actively pressing his neck against the blade. The sharp edge cut his skin, and crimson blood began to well up. He grinned viciously. "Go on, kill me!"
"You'd better do it fast. Don't let me recover my Magic Power and find a chance to escape."
"Otherwise, no one in this room will get out alive!"
This was reverse psychology.
The more you bluster, the more your enemy wants to kill you. But while they're itching to kill you, they also have to consider whether it's a trap. So, under normal circumstances, they won't actually touch you. At most, they'll give you a couple of hard slaps to teach you a lesson, and then the matter is dropped.
To put it simply—he was testing Sean's limits.
It could only be said that he didn't know Sean at all. He had no idea that this man never played by the rules.
"So you want to die that badly?" he asked Midi.
Midi provoked him. "That's right, do it! Don't make me look down on you!"
"Fine," Sean agreed.
Midi: "What do you mean 'fine,' if you have the guts you'll... wait!"
"'Fine'??"
He was halfway through his sentence before he realized—Sean had actually agreed??
"Mr. Sean, wait!"
VWOOM!
His answer was a sudden explosion of Magic Power.
Sean swiped with his right hand. The great golden blade instantly sliced across Midi's neck, leaving a neat, thin line of blood.
The next second, an uncontrolled torrent of blood gushed out, lifting Midi's head right off his neck.
"Ah!" Yisha quickly covered Koni's eyes. "Don't look, don't look! It'll give you nightmares."
Koni: "..."
To be honest, she wasn't scared at all.
It was just a head falling off. Nothing could be as terrifying as the scenes she had witnessed in Sean's dreams.
'What's the big deal about nightmares... I'm already used to them, sob...'
A look of terror was still frozen on Midi's face. Even in death, he couldn't understand why Sean would actually kill him.
The color drained from Konina's face in terror, and she stammered, "Sean, you... you..."
You really killed him??
Sean calmly dismissed the Light Blade, clapped his hands, and said, "I was just fulfilling his wish."
Hobbs watched the gruesome sight of his most trusted and favored subordinate being beheaded. His fists clenched as he struggled to suppress his fury. In a low voice, he snarled, "Sean, you will regret this!"
"No one has ever dared to kill a member of the Kovloki Family!"
