Sean glared irritably at the two women. "You two just love watching a good show, no matter how big the mess gets, huh?"

"Be careful, or one day I'll turn you two into the main event!"

"No, thanks." Yisha stuck her tongue out and hid behind Elise.

Elise, however, was unfazed by his antics. She winked at him. "Bring it on. I'm waiting. Last time, I asked what kind of stockings you like. Have you decided yet?"

Sean: "?"

Elvire frowned. "What kind of stockings?"

Elise: "Black—"

Sean cut in decisively, "—Silk Chocolate Cake. It's a dessert."

Elvire: "?"

"There's a dessert with a name like that?"

"There is," Sean said with a perfectly straight face. "And it's quite good."

Elise, stifling a laugh, raised her hand. "I can attest to that. It's absolutely delicious."

Elvire: "Really? Then bring me a slice next time."

Elise: "..."

Sean: "..."

"No problem!"

'Whatever, I'll just agree for now and deal with it later.'

He seized the opportunity to change the subject. "We shouldn't just stand around chatting. Let's get down to business."

"Alright." Elvire started to walk over to ask the front desk staff to page someone, but after two steps, she realized Sean was still holding her hand. She instinctively tried to pull away, but he wouldn't budge. It was as if Sean had anticipated her reaction, and he held her hand tightly, refusing to let go. With no other choice, Elvire could only shoot him a glare, her cheeks faintly blushing, and resign herself to letting him hold her hand.

Konina hesitated for a moment, then lowered her voice. "Are you looking for someone from White Bear?"

Sean was slightly surprised. "You know about that organization?"

Konina: "Actually... I am one of them."

Elvire: "?"

Sean: "?"

"You've become a Wizard??"

Konina met Sean's gaze. "Sean, can I still trust you?"

Sean was momentarily speechless. "Isn't it a little late to be asking that?"

'First, she tells me she's part of White Bear, and *then* she asks if she can trust me?'

Konina: "..."

'The order does seem a little off.'

But what could she do? She just had a natural sense of trust in Sean.

It had nothing to do with her lusting after his body; it was purely because they had been neighbors for years. She knew Sean wasn't a bad person. Besides, back in the Black Fruit Rainforest, he had, in a sense, saved her life. No one would be wary of their own savior.

"Okay..." Konina said after a moment's thought. "Follow me."

She had only recently joined White Bear and didn't have the authority to bring strangers back to their base, but she could take Sean and his group to her home.

The club was too crowded, with too many eyes and ears. It wasn't a good place to talk.

Besides...

"There's someone else who will be very happy to see you," Konina added with a smile.

Sean: "Hm?"

"Who?"

"You'll find out when we get there."

"Alright then."

Sean nodded to his companions, signaling that Konina could be trusted.

He hadn't tried to test his old neighbor at all.

There was no need.

Everyone in his group was a seasoned veteran. If Konina had even the slightest ulterior motive, it wouldn't escape their notice.

Especially Sopea.

Though not as specialized as a Lie Breaker, he could still tell if a Tier One Wizard like Konina was lying. The fact that he hadn't said anything proved she was trustworthy.

And so, the group left the club and followed Konina to her rented apartment nearby.

"It's a little cramped. Sorry, everyone will have to squeeze in a bit."

"You don't need to take off your shoes."

Once they arrived, Konina enthusiastically ushered everyone inside. As she went to get them some water, she called out toward the second bedroom, "Hey, sis! Time to entertain the clients!"

'Clients?'

Yisha's body tensed instantly.

'What kind of brazen words were those?' she thought. 'It feels like we've walked into a red-light district…'

"We have guests?" the person in the room asked.

It sounded like a man's voice.

When the door opened and the person stepped out... it really was a man.

That was the truly terrifying part.

Konina had clearly called her "sis."

Yisha grew even more tense, her nervousness sharpening into vigilance.

But when Sean got a clear look at the man, his eyes widened as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Genduo??"

"Sean??" Genduo was stunned for a second, then his face broke into a wide, surprised grin. "What brings you to Sonaros State?"

His physique was as burly as ever, and he strode forward to give Sean a bear hug.

This time, Sean didn't need Elvire to intervene. He took half a step back and held up a hand. "Hang on. Let me process this..."

"If I remember correctly, I told you to get Konina out of there, right?"

"Yeah," Genduo nodded. "And I did."

An unbelievable thought struck Sean, and he stared at Genduo. "So... you two hooked up?"

Genduo: "?"

"What are you thinking?"

"I'm not interested in women."

Now it was Elvire and the others' turn to be confused: "?"

'No wonder she called him "sis,"' they thought. 'So he's gay?'

Sean was confused. "Then why are you two living together?"

Genduo sighed. "It's a long story."

"More than long, it's infuriating!"

Konina emerged from the kitchen carrying several glasses of juice. Handing them out, she picked up the thread of the conversation, saying furiously, "You have absolutely no idea what my husband was doing behind my back!"

Sean scratched his head, confused. "What does your husband have to do with any of this?"

'Besides,' he thought, 'weren't you the one with the wandering eye first? Even if your husband did do something behind your back, doesn't that just make you even?'

But he kept that thought to himself.

With so many people watching, he had to let Konina save face.

To his surprise, Konina was remarkably frank and willing to own her actions. Seemingly guessing his thoughts, she said, "If he had just cheated on me, I wouldn't have divorced him. I know I'm no saint myself. It wouldn't be fair for me to sneak around and not let him do the same."

"When we first started having problems in the bedroom, after we hadn't slept together for a long time, I told him, 'If you have another woman, just tell me. Worst case, we can just do our own things, and neither of us has to feel guilty.'"
