The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 356 170: Plane Crash (Part 2)

The earlier comment about Sean and his group not taking them seriously was just a sarcastic joke.

But it turned out those guys really *didn't* take them seriously.

'Do they think they're still in Siracle State?'

"All personnel, on my command!"

"Activate the Magic Array!"

Normally, the blond young man should have given the order, as he was the nominal commander. But their landing, nearly an hour ahead of schedule, had provoked him. He was going to command this operation personally!

The moment the man in the suit finished speaking, powerful surges of Magic Power shot up from every corner before crashing down like a tsunami and pouring into the ground. At the same time, a dense web of lines and patterns lit up on the surface. These markings illuminated the sides of the runway in rapid succession, like streetlights switching on one by one, from near to far. In the middle of the runway, a few small, distinct characters appeared—

02r

This was the designation for this specific landing strip.

Landing on runway 02r normally required close coordination between the pilot and the control tower. When this marking lit up, the pilot's attention would be entirely focused on the console in front of them. They would instruct passengers to check their seatbelts, making everyone tense up along with them.

But that wasn't the point.

The point was that the people on the plane would think this was actually runway 02r. They would have no idea their landing site was, in fact, a Magic Array activated by over a hundred Wizards.

'Did Sean and the others think we would wait until the plane landed to make our move?'

Wrong.

By the time the plane landed, their move would already be over.

This Magic Array was called the "Tomb Shadow Dungeon," one of the most powerful Magic Arrays at the Tier Six level.

As its name suggested, it could bind any living creature that stepped into the Array. Pairs of hands, withered like bone yet possessing immense strength, would burst from the ground, grabbing them in an iron grip. These hands would then siphon their Magic Power and feed it back into the Array itself. With the enemy weakening as the Array strengthened, it was virtually impossible to break free once caught inside.

Not even a Tier Six.

"To our guests who've come from so far away, your time has come to die!"

The blond young man also viciously drew his blade.

There was a price to pay for not being on time.

Miss Bofunova had said they only needed to leave one person named Sean alive. Everyone else could be killed.

The plane drew closer and closer.

The deafening roar made one's eardrums ache.

The man in the suit and the blond young man stared intently at the plane, which had already descended to a low altitude. They were just waiting for it to land, decelerate, and stop. The moment it did, they would rush in to capture their targets. Any who resisted, aside from Sean, were to be killed on sight!

The control tower staff were also actively coordinating Sean's group for landing.

Genuinely coordinating.

After all, this was an airport in Sonaros State. If something went wrong during the landing, causing the plane to explode or some other accident, they themselves would suffer huge losses.

So, there wouldn't be any foul play during the landing phase.

Everyone was well aware of this fact.

And precisely because of this, setting up a Magic Array in advance and disguising it as runway 02r created an inescapable trap.

"Aircraft KT-3, you may begin deceleration."

"I repeat, you may begin deceleration. Prepare for landing."

The voice of the control tower staff came through the headset again.

The blond young man and the others could also hear them guiding Sean's group in for the landing.

This was something the man in the suit had specifically requested. It helped them track the plane's landing progress. From the perspective of actually capturing them, this information wasn't very important—they were all amateurs in this area, so knowing the progress was useless. But the man in the suit insisted on listening because it gave him a sense of being in complete control.

The blond young man's lips twisted into a sinister smile.

But as he smiled, his expression suddenly froze.

Because he realized the plane didn't seem to be slowing down...

The plane was already very close to the ground. From a distance, it was level with the skyscrapers in the night sky. It was descending, but that was all. Its speed hadn't decreased in the slightest.

It hadn't even lowered its landing gear, which should have extended from the bottom of the fuselage by now.

It wasn't so much landing as it was diving from a different angle.

The control tower staff said urgently, "KT-3, decelerate immediately!"

"I repeat, decelerate immediately!"

But the pilot on the plane seemed not to have heard.

Not only did it not slow down, it actually sped up.

Its wings sliced through the air and burst into flames, which then spread across the entire fuselage. Like a meteorite falling from the heavens, it plunged straight toward runway 02r!

When faced with a "natural disaster," people often feel insignificant.

For example, like a meteor from the meteor shower you went to watch landing on your head.

That was exactly how the man in the suit and the blond young man felt right now.

Both of their eyes widened, the flames reflected in their pupils growing larger and larger.

To be honest, it wasn't that they hadn't considered Sean's group might fight back in their own way.

They were all High-tier Wizards. Who didn't have an ace up their sleeve?

It was just that they had set up the Magic Array in advance and weren't afraid of any resistance from Sean's group.

But they had never, ever expected their resistance to be *this*.

They were actually crashing the plane into them, trying to take them all down together!

'What the fuck... Is this something a human being would even do?!'

"Fuck this shit!"

"Run!"

If Sean and his group didn't care about their lives, fine, but they cared about theirs.

Seeing the plane about to crash, the blond young man let out a roar, grabbed the man in the suit, and turned to flee.

The lights on both sides of the runway also quickly extinguished, from far to near.

The "Tomb Shadow Dungeon" could trap people, but it couldn't trap a plane—at least not one in a full-power dive like this.

The kinetic energy from the physical impact alone would be enough to smash them to smithereens.
