"Stop crying," Vincent chided after releasing Liliana’s lips. "Do you know how tempting your face looks right now?"

Liliana gazed at him for a moment, no words leaving her mouth. She simply stared at Vincent, the man before her, in silence.

After seeing that Vincent’s face showed not the slightest surprise, she finally opened her mouth. "Vincent, have you already learned all of my secrets?"

Vincent gave a crooked smile. "Did you think I would be the same as those two foolish partners of yours?"

"Since when?"

Vincent exhaled roughly. "Which secret are you asking about first? Because I didn’t learn them all at the same time."

"All of them."

Vincent’s gray eyes continued to watch Liliana, who was still waiting for his answer. "The first one was when your power appeared for the first time. When your black hair changed color to silver for the first time."

"I’ve known your true form since then. And as for your wolf power... that was when I marked you," he added.

Liliana’s eyes widened slightly. "So... back then... when Aunt Mega said someone was watching us, it was actually you and your pack?"

Vincent shrugged. "It could be said that way, or it might not. Even I can’t be certain. Because the ones in the forest at that time weren’t only me and my pack."

"There were others?"

"Well... I’m not sure which pack’s members they were. But what I do know is that their strength was enough to wipe me and my pack out right then and there."

"The one you saw wasn’t the leader? Just an ordinary member?" Liliana asked to confirm.

"Correct."

Liliana held her breath, her mind racing as she tried to figure out who else might have seen her true form back then. She was certain it hadn’t been only Vincent.

"Did you bring hair dye? I’ll help you color it. Looking like this will drive many wolves mad. The Draven family was right about that."

"I brought it."

Liliana immediately rose from her seated position and opened the backpack she had brought.

Werewolves possessed magic that activated automatically once they had a wolf form. Any items they carried and wore while in human form would enter and be stored within their wolf’s inner space when the owner shifted back into a wolf.

This kept those items safe, protected, and undamaged.

Liliana took out the box of hair dye and handed it to Vincent.

Vincent accepted it and immediately began helping Liliana apply it.

"Did both of your partners also know your true form?"

Liliana sighed as she put on the earrings Viktor had given her.

"Only Xavier knew. My true form suddenly appeared when he successfully marked me."

Vincent’s hands stiffened for a moment, though he continued his movements.

"Lucien doesn’t know," Liliana’s face smiled as she recalled the man’s words.

"Do you like him?"

"I don’t know. But he was willing to accept me completely, even when he only knew my ugly face. Aside from the Draven family, only he was willing to accept me. I think... he really is different."

"Does anyone else know about your true wolf power besides the Draven family?" Vincent asked, changing the subject.

"No one. Only you know."

A thin line formed on Vincent’s lips at once.

"Vincent... can you keep this secret of mine? My wolf power is a bit strange; I still can’t control it. Moreover, I have a bond with Cassian and the Draven Pack. If others find out, I’m afraid something bad will happen to them."

"Do you think I’m that kind of man? You are my Luna. And I am your mate. I have the duty to protect you," Vincent said beside Liliana’s ear.

Feeling Vincent’s warm breath beside her made Liliana’s face flush instantly. She quickly nodded.

After they finished, Liliana opened her bag again and applied the medicinal substance to conceal the wounds on her face.

Vincent said nothing. His hand reached for the gray stone inside his cloak—the object that had called to him earlier and that he had stored carelessly.

He stared at it for a moment. The stone had reacted to Liliana’s power earlier. He could feel it. He finally also knew that this gray stone was truly no ordinary stone.

And perhaps it had something to do with Liliana.

Vincent tightly gripped the stone that belonged to him before tucking it back into the deepest part of his cloak.

"Sleep," Vincent said after Liliana’s ugly appearance had returned to how it was before. "We have to go back to searching for your pack tomorrow morning."

"Mm..." Liliana answered.

They shifted back into their wolf forms and rested side by side.

The next morning, while Vincent and Liliana were searching for Cassian’s whereabouts, they were stopped by another pack that Liliana had never expected.

The pack she had always tried to avoid.

And the pack that the Draven Pack had always kept their distance from.

A man with golden hair, golden eyes, and a sturdy build stood before them. His sharp eyes and perfect jawline made everyone around him seem utterly worthless by comparison.

He—that man—was now scrutinizing Liliana from the tips of her hair to the tips of her toes.

"Miss Liliana?" he said in a low voice full of meaning.

Liliana’s body trembled, not from fear, but because that reaction had come again.

She clenched her fingers tightly, restraining the reaction that forced her to surrender herself to that man.

Yes.

That man was Liliana’s fourth mate.

The Crown Prince of the Morovela Empire, Leonhart Sterling.

The man who in the future would lead the wolf nation and control the Alphas of the Morovela Empire.

The man famous for his cruelty, who would not even hesitate to kill in order to eliminate followers who were disloyal to him.

"Does the Crown Prince know Liliana?" Vincent asked as he immediately stepped forward, blocking Leonhart’s view as he watched Liliana.

Leonhart’s brow furrowed slightly. A faint dissatisfaction appeared on his perfect face.

And everyone there could easily tell.

The warm air around them turned cold in an instant.

"I, Liliana Draven, present myself before the Crown Prince of the Morovela Empire," Liliana said, knowing everything would turn bad if she did not break the tense situation.

"Step aside. Your scent is truly disgusting," Leonhart said.

Everyone there stared at Liliana, thinking that the person the Crown Prince meant was Liliana.

After all, almost everyone at the academy knew that Liliana was truly awful. Besides her ugly appearance, her nonexistent wolf form, and the news about her being rejected by her two mates had already spread throughout the entire academy.

"Forgive me, Crown Prince," Vincent said after a moment. "We will leave at once."

Leonhart’s brow furrowed even deeper at Vincent’s action toward Liliana.

"Vincent Arden," Leonhart cut in, causing Vincent’s movement to stop in an instant.

"You are truly disgusting," Leonhart said in a firm voice, making no effort to hide his annoyance.

Everyone froze upon hearing Leonhart’s words.

Wasn’t the one who smelled bad Liliana?

How could that be directed at the future Alpha of the Ardent Pack?

Was something wrong with their ears?
