Liliana and Vincent walked carefully through the dense forest before them. They were aware that danger would always follow their steps in this Secret Realm.

"Vincent, why did you separate from your pack? Aren’t you afraid they’ll hate you for leaving the pack without responsibility?" Liliana asked, trying to break the frozen atmosphere between them.

"There are two Beta candidates leading them. You don’t need to worry about this."

Liliana nodded and continued walking with her head lowered. The atmosphere between them grew quiet again.

Liliana had been trying to break this silence for a while, but it always ended with Vincent’s cold replies.

Vincent sniffed his surroundings with his nose in wolf form.

"Cassian and his pack once stayed here," Vincent said after a moment.

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm. We have to move quickly if we want to catch up to him."

"Vincent, wait," Liliana called. "I’ll look for Cassian myself. You can return to your pack."

"The decision about whether you’ll become my Luna in the future hasn’t come out yet. Are you already trying to run away from me again?"

Vincent’s gaze fell on Liliana’s wolf form.

"You’re still my Luna for now. My mark is still on your body, just like your other two mates."

Liliana’s sharp claws dug deeper into the ground beneath her.

"Mhm," Liliana finally answered after a moment.

The two of them continued following the scent of Cassian and his pack. But after half an hour had passed, Liliana’s steps suddenly stopped.

"What’s wrong?" Vincent asked, immediately noticing it.

"Vincent, there’s something calling me."

"Calling you?" Vincent asked, furrowing his brows.

Liliana looked at the river to her left, which had a fairly strong current.

"I think this is what the Dean meant. There’s something that wants me to have it."

Without saying anything, Liliana immediately rushed to cross the river in front of her. With her wolf body, she passed through it agilely without the slightest obstacle.

Vincent looked at Liliana, then toward the direction she was heading. He also suddenly felt the same call as her.

With quick steps, he ran to catch up behind Liliana.

His Alpha father had once spoken about the Secret Realm belonging to Mirena Academy. If there was an item calling you in that place, then never miss it.

It was a treasure that would be useful to you in the future. And only the person called by that item could take it out of this Secret Realm.

After walking for a while, Liliana’s steps stopped in front of a stone cave. She quickly transformed into her human form.

Vincent did the same beside Liliana.

The item calling him was also inside this cave.

Liliana took a deep breath. The cave in front of her looked mossy with a strong smell of brackish water.

Liliana shifted her gaze toward the river she had just crossed, which she could still see from her current position, then to the top of the cave, which was covered with many lush plants.

Something that clearly couldn’t happen if it only relied on rainwater to keep those plants alive.

Liliana nodded slowly. At last, she understood how this cave could have such a strong smell of brackish water.

Liliana stepped forward slowly, trying to enter deeper into the cave in front of her.

But her steps halted. Vincent immediately pulled Liliana to the side.

A stone arrow shot toward Liliana at tremendous speed.

"You... be careful!" Vincent warned. "This place isn’t somewhere that can be entered casually. There’s clearly a protection system against outsiders trying to sneak in."

Liliana looked up at Vincent, who was still holding her tightly, then nodded.

Her heart was pounding. Whether it was because she had almost just died or because of Vincent.

After a moment of silence, Vincent finally realized how ambiguous their current position was.

"Ahem," Vincent cleared his throat lightly. His face turned red, then he quickly turned away.

Liliana finally realized as well. She hurriedly got up from Vincent’s embrace.

"Sorry," Liliana said. Her face flushed without her noticing.

Vincent scratched the back of his head, then nodded.

"I’ll lead the way. Besides, you’re still my Luna. I can’t just let you get hurt and die right under my own eyes," Vincent said.

Vincent walked ahead. Liliana followed him slowly.

Swakk!!

Another arrow shot toward them and grazed Vincent’s gray hair.

Both of them held their breath quickly. They hadn’t even taken two steps, yet the attacks in this place had already activated again.

"Don’t go far from me. Follow the steps I choose," Vincent said.

Liliana obeyed. She stepped slowly and stayed right behind him.

Arrow after arrow flew toward the two of them, but Vincent was able to deflect them with his wolf’s instincts and keep Liliana safe.

In a short time, they successfully arrived at the middle section of the cave. Aside from Vincent’s hair being slightly cut, neither of them suffered any serious injuries.

"Up ahead are the items that might be calling you. You can check them yourself. There shouldn’t be any more danger here."

Liliana nodded and stepped forward. Her gaze fell on the stone shelves filled with many objects in front of her. They weren’t rare items—almost all of them were ordinary in their original world.

But both of them clearly knew that these objects weren’t ordinary common items.

Liliana’s hands touched the objects one by one. There were no powerful weapons like she had imagined as the item calling her. In front of her were only stacks of books, paintings, and a few pieces of jewelry adorned with gemstones.

Her forehead furrowed slightly as she looked at everything. Liliana had thought the item calling her would be something that would help her protect herself.

Vincent didn’t disturb her. He directed his instincts toward the object that was still calling him.

Liliana’s hand stopped on a worn book in the corner of the shelf. The book truly looked terrible, with a cover that was even already damaged.

Liliana’s forehead furrowed even more, but her hand continued moving to take the book.

Liliana opened it slowly. She thought this was truly a ruined book, but after seeing the first page, her eyes widened without her realizing.

Her hands moved quickly, turning page after page.

"This book..." Liliana muttered.

It was truly the book she had been searching for for so long.

The book that could help her control her silver wolf’s power!
