208. Akame Ga Kill : Situation Before the War and Kaito Relaxing Days in Paradise City. (1)

A few days later, after the mass scale of cursed children retrieval started, Kaito got banned from working by the chat group, and everyone told him to take a break. They told him to move to the Akame Ga Kill world to take a vacation in Paradise City to clear his mind. 

Although he wants to help in the process of cleaning up the Gastrea creatures and retrieving cursed children all over the world, everyone in the chat group naturally refuses his help. The plan Kaito was supposed to take part in for the Imperial Capital raid has now been canceled by Aika.

Additionally, Aika banned him from using the creation and third methods for training, leaving Kaito with nothing to do.

"I am touched that everyone wants me to take a rest, but I feel that I have been exiled to this world..." Kaito sighed while complaining, "But at least I had Midori come with me." Kaito wryly smiled while affectionately patting his 'partner'.

"Mmm... Kaito-sama."

Midori naturally didn't refuse Kaito's act, and she was also curious about the world that her master had brought him: "Is this a new world, Kaito-sama?"

"Yeah. It's a different world." Kaito nodded and proudly introduced the city, "Midori, let's go to the mall! Since no one let me go to work, we might as well try to have fun!"

Surprisingly, it wasn't bad at all; the porridge and steak were quite good and satisfying to eat. Not as good as their "chef chat group member" dishes, but it's almost comparable to Sakuya's dish before she trained under Erina.

As Kaito leisurely waited for Midori to finish her food, two people recognized him from afar. It was Mine and Misaka, the duo's new best friend, who was currently enjoying their weekly shopping routine in this city.

"You are... master Kaito?" (Mine)

"Ah, you are here, Kaito. Good afternoon." (Misaka)

"Ah, Mine and Misaka. Good afternoon." Kaito greeted them back casually.

"This girl is Midori, right?" Misaka said, looking at the girl white hair girl who was enjoying her dessert.

Midori, who has information about all chat group members from Kaito, temporarily stopped eating, and then politely introduced herself, "M-My name is Fuse Midori, my master is Kaito-sama. N-Nice to meet you!"

"Indeed. My Midori is cute~" Kaito nodded in agreement and then teased Misaka, "Speaking of which, I didn't expect you to slack off here, Misaka."

"Ugh... I am sorry about it."

Hearing Kaito's words, Misaka couldn't help but become embarrassed, knowing he was saying the truth. In preparation for the incoming war, all of the other Team 2 were currently busy on their own. After the talk in the chat group about Kaito's situation, Misaka feels bad for him and realizes how many things he has done for everyone. Unfortunately, she's also one of the members who needs his help, but at least Misaka is willing to wait until Kaito gets better before letting him help her.

Her world time should be frozen anyway, so it doesn't matter how long it would take her to wait. No one wanted their leader, Kaito, to collapse under stress, not even Misaka herself, who had the least affection for him in the chat group.

Both Misaka and Mine retorted loudly, making Kaito laugh as he was amused by their reaction. Mine doesn't mind it and knows that Kaito was joking, but the same can't be the same for Misaka. Misaka especially shudders about that possibility, because she's already become a frequent target of Kuroko back in her world!

Thankfully, Misaka knows Mine is a normal straight woman. After all, Mine was the wife of Tatsumi (protagonist of this world) in the original plot, so she's not lesbian.

After spending time together with Midori the whole day until evening, they decide to go back to their temporary residence (villa) in this world to take a rest.

"What a peaceful day. I really overwork myself for a long time, huh?"

In this world, Kaito does not have to worry about suddenly finding a group of people torturing cursed children or whether the Gastrea creature would cause harm to the city, thanks to the Crocodile city wall that prevents any dangerous beast from entering the city.

Anyway, although Midori is an enhanced cursed child, in her essence, she's still a child. She got tired after having fun playing with Kaito the whole day, and now she's fallen asleep on Kaito's lap while he sits on the sofa without doing anything except stroking Midori's white, fluffy hair.

[Owner]: "Should I say sorry for beating her up?"

[Baroque Works Leader]: "No, you don't need to apologize. If anything, this benefits us greatly since it accelerates our plan, and we don't need to wait for too long."

[Ohara Survivor]: "From the information I got, your poster now has the biggest bounty in the Imperial Capital, issued by Esdeath herself. She's also been training very hard, eager to pay back the humiliation that you inflicted on her."

Kaito admits Aika's words indeed make sense, since taking care of children is much easier to do than pure torturous work like he usually does, like creating armor and weapons a thousand times for the Paradise City army.

Just remember how much his workload was before the Scorpion attack... yeah, Kaito himself would be happy to stop doing that. He is not a masochist after all.

In the end, Kaito was forced to accept Aika's proposal, and tomorrow the chat group will send someone to drop off those 2 children for him to take care.
