Chapter 236: Kasaya Demon Suppression
“Tiger Form Splitting Fist?”
Zheng Lun’s heart jumped in surprise.
‘No, that’s not it!’
Lu Bai’s punch was remarkably similar to a move from the Tiger Subduing Fist, but its momentum was far fiercer. It was like a Vajra Descent, wielding a Mountain-Cracking Axe—unstoppable!
Lu Bai charged too quickly. Yang Xiao and Shi Yong tried to intercept him, but it was already too late.
It had seemed like a three-on-one fight, but the situation changed in an instant. In a flash, it had become a one-on-one duel!
For Zheng Lun, there was no dodging and no retreat.
The Tiger Subduing Fist emphasized momentum; its techniques were fierce and powerful.
But having lost the initiative, Zheng Lun had no choice but to assume the “Tiger Crouching Dragon Coiling” stance, crossing his arms to block upward.
If he could just block this one punch, he could buy enough time for Yang Xiao and Shi Yong to surround Lu Bai, re-establishing their numerical advantage.
In the back of his mind, Zheng Lun already believed he stood no chance against Lu Bai alone.
BAM!
The punch landed heavily on Zheng Lun’s arms.
A tremor ran through Zheng Lun’s entire body.
CRACK!
Immediately after, a sickening sound of bone fracturing echoed in his ears. An excruciating pain shot through his arms, and they fell limply to his sides.
With just one punch, Lu Bai had shattered both of Zheng Lun’s arms!
Zheng Lun’s stance completely crumbled. But Lu Bai’s punch hadn’t lost all its momentum; it continued forward, stirring up a vicious wind as it shot straight for his face!
‘My life is over!’
Zheng Lun’s vision went black as he cried out in his heart.
Just as his fist was about to make contact with Zheng Lun’s face, Lu Bai suddenly pulled back. He spun around and charged toward the incoming Yang Xiao and Shi Yong.
Yang Xiao and Shi Yong coordinated flawlessly, attacking from flanking positions.
The wind from their fists howled, faintly producing the sound of a tiger’s roar. Their presence was terrifying!
WHOOSH!
Lu Bai was completely fearless. His Blood Qi surged, and from within his body came the sound of a great river roaring.
“Hm?”
Hearing this sound, the expressions on Yang Xiao and Shi Yong’s faces changed.
‘A Blood Qi River!’
Even though they had both cultivated to Innate Realm Perfection, their Blood Qi was only at the level of a stream.
In the entire Fuhu Camp, only the deceased Captain Han Lie had ever cultivated his Blood Qi to the level of a river.
‘This man is only at the Innate Nine Meridians, so how can his Blood Qi be this powerful?’
The momentum of their fierce tigers and the sound of their roars were instantly drowned out by the surging force of Lu Bai’s great river!
Lu Bai’s arms danced. His fist technique seemed utterly chaotic, with no discernible stances. It was a dizzying flurry of feints and real attacks, a blur of overlapping afterimages.
In the blink of an eye, they seemed to weave together into a shimmering golden kasaya that enveloped Yang Xiao and Shi Yong!
“What is this fist technique?”
Yang Xiao and Shi Yong felt a sense of helplessness, unsure of how to even begin to counter it.
But they were already at close quarters. If they retreated, their momentum would break, and defeat would be certain.
As if by telepathy, neither of them retreated. Pushing their Blood Qi to its absolute limit, they each executed the Tiger Subduing Fist and attacked Lu Bai fiercely from both sides.
Their fists struck the kasaya, but it felt like punching empty air—an awful sensation that made them want to vomit blood.
All their strength vanished in an instant, like a clay ox sinking into the sea.
This was the “Kasaya Demon Suppression” from the Vajra Demon-Subduing Fist.
It wasn’t known for its raw power, but for using a dense, endless stream of punches to weave a Blood Qi Kasaya. It was designed to wait for the opponent to strike and was the perfect counter to fierce, powerful fist techniques.
This move required one’s own Blood Qi to be stronger than the opponent’s.
To move a thousand pounds with four ounces, you first needed the strength of a thousand pounds.
Otherwise, if the Blood Qi Kasaya failed to envelop the opponent, it could easily be broken through, revealing a fatal flaw.
Yang Xiao’s initial force was spent. He instantly realized the danger and tried to pull back.
But the Blood Qi Kasaya was wrapped around him; he couldn’t break free at all.
Before he could react, his body was no longer under his control. Lu Bai casually flung him through the air, and he crashed heavily into the crowd of spectators.
Shi Yong, however, did not retreat. His fist technique changed, shifting to a grappling style as he reached for the joints in Lu Bai’s arms.
This was the key to breaking the “Kasaya Demon Suppression.”
“Oh?”
A flicker of surprise crossed Lu Bai’s eyes.
‘This man’s grappling technique is quite profound, no weaker than the Tiger Subduing Fist.’
Their arms crossed repeatedly, never quite touching in mid-air. The exchange seemed silent and without contact.
In reality, the slightest mistake—a locked joint—would decide the winner instantly!
“Nice moves!”
Lu Bai exclaimed in admiration. His Blood Qi flared, and his arms began to dance.
In Shi Yong’s vision, Lu Bai’s two arms became four, then six, and in a blink, there were eight!
‘What the hell?’
Shi Yong’s eyes widened in disbelief.
‘We’re both using grappling techniques, and my opponent suddenly has eight arms? How the hell am I supposed to fight that?’
Once he unleashed the Eight-armed Dragon Tamer, the outcome was decided in an instant!
Lu Bai jabbed a few of Shi Yong’s joints and then leaped back.
All the strength drained from Shi Yong’s body, and he collapsed onto the ground.
The crowd of Huben Army soldiers watched, dumbfounded.
One versus three.
In less than ten breaths, the fight was over.
Zheng Lun’s arms were broken, Yang Xiao had been thrown aside, and Shi Yong’s joints were locked, leaving him unable to fight.
The three Captains of Fuhu Camp had been utterly defeated!
Qian the Youngest breathed a silent sigh of relief. ‘Good thing I didn’t rush up there.’
‘This young man is terrifyingly strong!’
‘With skills like these, maybe he didn’t come to Fuhu Camp just to pad his resume…’
—
Yue Qianshan had just sat down in his tent, preparing to cultivate.
Just then, he heard the sound of footsteps outside, followed by a report.
“Come in,”
Yue Qianshan said.
“General.”
The personal guard from before returned quickly, panting for breath. The shock in his eyes was unmistakable as he said, “I’ve found out about that Lu Bai’s background.”
The guard recounted Lu Bai’s entire story: his rise from Liuxi Town, his time in Bluestone City, and finally, the bloody massacre he had committed in Jingzhou City.
Yue Qianshan’s expression changed as he listened, growing more and more alarmed.
‘Have we taken in a Demon King of Chaos?’
‘A mere Evil Exterminator Guard, an Innate Martial Artist, and he even dared to kill the grandson of Marquis Jingzhong!’
‘He killed hundreds of people in Jing State and wasn’t even executed for it, just exiled to the frontier to serve in the army.’
Yue Qianshan suddenly recalled something Chen Shihu had told Lu Bai: in the military camp, he should try his best not to fight to the death.
‘This kid acts with no restraint. He’s completely lawless. Is he really going to listen to Duke Chen?’
Yue Qianshan considered that Lu Bai had just been parachuted into the Fuhu Camp as a Captain and would inevitably face challenges.
‘If he wants to establish his authority and doesn’t know how to hold back, then the others…’
A jolt of alarm shot through Yue Qianshan. Without a second thought, he vanished from his tent in a flash, speeding toward Fuhu Camp.
「Meanwhile.」
After Lu Bai defeated the three men, a dead silence fell over the surrounding Huben Army soldiers.
The expressions on many of their faces were strange.
Some exchanged glances, their looks filled with a deeper meaning.
There was only one condition to become the Captain of one of the eight Huben Army camps: you had to be the strongest person in that camp.
And by defeating Zheng Lun, Yang Xiao, and Shi Yong in a one-on-three fight, Lu Bai had just proven that he was now the strongest person in Fuhu Camp!
In a way, this meant he was even qualified to directly become the Captain of Fuhu Camp!
