The Mirror Master

Chapter 187: Wetting Their Pants

  • Next Chapter

Night had just begun to fall.

Liu Liangxin entered the city early.

Today was the day of his secret rendezvous with his mistress, Wu Mei’er, whom he had set up in a residence within the city.

This Wu Mei’er had originally been the top courtesan of a Jingzhou City brothel. Two years ago, he had paid for her freedom and settled her in the city to avoid arguments with the one at home.

Coming into the city every few days also gave him some peace and quiet.

The thought of Wu Mei’er’s slender waist, her soft and sweet voice, and all her novel tricks made Liu Liangxin’s heart burn with heat. The frustrations from handling his affairs during the day were swept away.

Liu Liangxin arrived at the residence in the southern part of the city.

"Master, the mistress is waiting for you in her room."

The few maids in the courtyard recognized him and bowed in greeting.

"Yes, you’re dismissed."

Liu Liangxin waved his hand and pushed the door open, stepping inside.

A warm, fragrant scent wafted from the room. A meal and wine had already been prepared. Wu Mei’er greeted him with a charming smile, nestling softly into Liu Liangxin’s embrace and cooing, "Master Liu, you’ve finally come. I’ve missed you so, so much."

Liu Liangxin laughed heartily. His rough hand gave her hip a squeeze as he asked with a wicked smile, "And where did you miss me?"

A blush crept onto Wu Mei’er’s face as she whispered, "Everywhere."

Her words sent a wave of heat through Liu Liangxin. His gaze roamed nakedly over her body, his breathing growing heavy.

"Master Liu, eat something first. You’ll need your strength later."

Wu Mei’er giggled. "I’m hungry too."

The two of them drank together, whispering intimately and teasing each other until neither could hold back any longer.

By the time they tumbled onto the bed, they were completely naked, their clothes scattered across the floor.

However, not long after they got into bed, Wu Mei’er stopped responding. She seemed to have fallen asleep.

Liu Liangxin busied himself for a while, but seeing that Wu Mei’er remained unresponsive, he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. Just as he was about to wake her, a powerful wave of drowsiness washed over him, and his head grew heavy.

The beauty before him blurred into a double image.

"Ugh... this wine today... is pretty strong..."

Liu Liangxin shook his head forcefully, trying to fight it, but the world was spinning. Before he could finish his sentence, he collapsed onto the bed, unconscious.

Outside the room, Lu Bai, wearing the Mountain Demon Hat, remained hidden and motionless. He held his breath, listening to the sounds within.

He waited until the room fell silent, and then for a few moments more until he heard snoring. Only then did Lu Bai gently push the door open and slip inside.

’Once I figured out Liu Liangxin and this Wu Mei’er’s situation and their routines, things became much easier.’

With the help of the Mountain Demon Hat, Lu Bai had arrived in advance and added a soporific to the wine and food Wu Mei’er had prepared—one strong enough to knock out an Innate Martial Artist.

Lu Bai stepped forward, threw a piece of clothing on Liu Liangxin, and then hauled him out of the room.

He Liangzhi was waiting nearby to provide support.

Lu Bai had been inside for a while now.

He still hadn’t come out.

After another moment, the main gate of the residence opened from the inside.

Then, He Liangzhi saw Liu Liangxin’s horizontal body floating in mid-air, emerging from the residence and drifting toward him.

He Liangzhi jumped in fright.

’What in the world?’

But he quickly realized what was happening.

Liu Liangxin’s state looked more like someone was carrying him.

"Brother He, it’s me."

Lu Bai’s voice sounded out.

He Liangzhi said with dawning comprehension, "No wonder you were so confident you could bring Liu Liangxin out without anyone noticing, Brother Lu. So you know an Invisibility Technique. Impressive."

"Thanks for your hard work, Brother He."

Lu Bai handed Liu Liangxin over to He Liangzhi.

He Liangzhi had been in Jingzhou City for many years and was familiar with every street and alley. He knew best where the dark shortcuts were and how to avoid the patrolling Garrison.

’If I were the one carrying Liu Liangxin, even with my invisibility, a grown man floating in mid-air... would be impossible to explain if someone saw it.’

He Liangzhi put on a deep gray cloak he had prepared, covering Liu Liangxin with it. After hoisting him onto his back, he activated his Blood Qi and vanished into the darkness in a few quick leaps. His Body Technique was truly astonishingly fast!

Lu Bai also ran toward the Evil Extermination Bureau.

In his sleep, Liu Liangxin suddenly shivered. He was woken by waves of cold, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Although he was awake, his head was still groggy and splitting with pain.

The air was filled with the smell of burning paper money, mingled with a cloying, sweet fragrance like old powder that made one want to retch.

"Mei’er?"

Liu Liangxin struggled to sit up. He reached out beside him, touching only empty space, and called out her name instinctively.

There was no response.

Darkness surrounded him.

"Someone!"

Liu Liangxin shouted again.

It was still silent all around.

The silence was unsettling.

Liu Liangxin tried to stand, but his legs felt weak and his whole body was drained of strength.

Just then, a ghostly wind blew past.

WHOOSH! Without any warning, several white candles on the surrounding walls suddenly lit up!

Liu Liangxin instinctively looked around and his heart jumped in shock.

’This isn’t Wu Mei’er’s residence at all!’

’Where is this?’

Although the room was now lit, it was still dim. He could vaguely see that the four walls were hung with old, faded white funeral banners, like a Memorial Hall.

But the room’s decor was a sea of crimson, with interwoven red silks creating a festive atmosphere like a bridal chamber.

Even the bed he was on was covered with a red quilt embroidered with auspicious dragons and phoenixes.

Liu Liangxin suddenly recalled a recent rumor. His Heart and Spirit trembled, his face turned deathly pale, and he broke out in a cold sweat.

’I heard a Ghost Bride appeared over in Bai Family Village.’

’They say hundreds of people at Renyi Manor were wiped out!’

’If I’m not mistaken, that Ghost Bride is most likely Bai Chuchu!’

’But ghosts like that usually have a hard time leaving their area.’

’Besides, I usually travel between Fujiao Manor and Jingzhou City. Ordinary Ghost Souls and evil spirits wouldn’t dare to approach me.’

Suddenly, Liu Liangxin seemed to sense something and instinctively glanced to his side.

That one glance nearly scared his soul out of his body!

Liu Liangxin’s pupils contracted, and his scalp went numb.

Right there on the bed, not far from him, sat a bride dressed in a phoenix crown and wedding veil, her head covered by a red cloth!

She sat there stiffly, emanating a cold aura, devoid of any sign of life.

The bride slowly turned her head and said in an ethereal voice, "Third Uncle Liu, you’ve caused me so much misery..."

"AHHH!"

Liu Liangxin was so frightened his heart nearly stopped. He let out a wretched scream and instinctively tried to flee. He had just gotten off the bed when his legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor, dripping with cold sweat.

’The Ghost Bride!’

’Bai Chuchu has come for me!’

’Only Bai Chuchu ever called me that!’

At this moment, the soporific in Liu Liangxin’s system hadn’t fully worn off. His head was muddled, and he had just been terrified out of his wits. He was in no state to recognize the other person’s voice.

Just then, the figure in the crimson wedding dress slowly and somewhat stiffly stood up and started toward him.

Although the red veil hid her face, Liu Liangxin felt as if he could sense an icy, deathly gaze from beneath it!

Liu Liangxin sat paralyzed on the floor, scrambling backward. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the Ghost Bride’s feet.

She was wearing red embroidered shoes.

They were a foot off the ground.

The Ghost Bride wasn’t walking; she was floating.

Liu Liangxin’s teeth chattered, and he trembled uncontrollably. He suddenly felt a warm sensation in his lower body—he had been so scared that he had wet himself on the spot.
