Chapter 3662: Reluctant Evolutionaries
Chapter 3662: Reluctant Evolutionaries
While Rui indulged himself in the training chamber, preparing to complete Project Evosapien and Pluribody in one fell swoop, the war continued to rage on. The participation of the dwarves and the Evolutionary Army raised the stakes to a much higher level as all six civilizations in the true world began partaking in the conflict.
The Panamic Alliance and its allies found themselves faced off against the wrath of NOVA, the giants, and the evolutionaries as both sides raced not only to wage war against each other on different fronts of the battle, but also when it came to the Panama Continent.
When it came to the Panama Continent, all enemies attacked just one target unanimously.
“The Kandrian Empire.” An evosapien commander declared with a gruff voice as his superhuman eyes honed in on the distant land that was far beyond the range of lesser eyes.
Atop speeding ships that surged towards the Kandrian Empire at high velocities stood the commander assigned to the Kandrian Front of the war, tasked with commanding all forces that engaged the Panamic Alliance at this front.
His gaze swept past his soldiers and crew, dutifully completing their tasks, even if reluctantly.
The bright light of the morning sun did very little to dispel the darkness of the atmosphere among the evosapien warriors as they charged towards the Kandrian Empire. A silence hung in the air even as the warm and humid, salty ocean winds swept past their charging ships, save for crewmates making reports and communications.
None of them had truly wanted to partake in this war, something that was very unusual for the imperialistic Evolutionary Army that existed for conquest. For the first time in the history of the army, none of its soldiers cared to wage war.
Yet, they had no choice. They couldn’t allow their enemies to monopolize negatron matter. It was simply too precious, so much so that they reluctantly redirected the protection of their generation of miracles and decided to mount a sustained assault at sea against the heart of the Panamic Alliance.
They truly would have loved nothing more than to just give their generation of miracles time to mature and become a force to reckon with on the battlefield. Then, once that generation had become adults, the Evolutionary Army wouldn’t mind waging war against the entire world.
They were even confident that they could win, with the superiority of their forces; what could possibly stop them? Not even the likes of NOVA or the Dawnbringer could ever hope to rival them with an entire generation of literal miracles that vastly surpassed anybody who came before them.
They had even halted their assault on the West Moridian Alliance, a group of evolutionary states that banded together to collectively resist the Army, just to ensure that there was no risk of anything happening to their generation of miracles.
They had even resolved to ignore the exotic matter of the Panama Continent for the time being. That exotic matter was not going anywhere, after all. As much as they hated to admit it, the Panamic Alliance was a truly tough nut to crack. They themselves had tried and failed, even losing their Supreme Commander in the process.
And in return, they had received his genetic legacy. One that would allow them to conquer the Panama Continent in the future and lay claim to the exotic matter within it.
That was why even the Hlakaschken Trade Empire, situated very near to the Evolutionary Army, signed an alliance with the Kandrian Empire after the defeat of the Dragon Emperor; they did not make so much as a peep. Nothing could possibly make them move, given the golden eggs that they were sitting on.
Nothing except for negatron matter.
Negatron matter proved to become the one thing that could force even the reluctant Evolutionary Army to get off their bums and declare war once more.
“Our long-range surveillance apparatus detects the mobilization of siege weapons against Commander Mernin.”
“The Kandrian Empire is redirecting long-range siege capacity to intercept our battalion.”
“Detecting the dispatch of a military naval force in our direction. Estimated time of arrival is half an hour.”
“Erect our energy shields,” Commander Mernin instructed gruffly. “Prepare our pathwalkers for interception.”
RUMBLE…
Even as the ships erected their energy shields, the world tremored unsteadily. The waves of the Great Nam Ocean grew more tumultuous and terrifying, becoming increasingly more volatile.
Then, the sieges came.
BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM!!!
Tremendously powerful and fast lasers converged on the approaching naval battalion, ravaging its energy shields with great power. The electromagnetic energy shields began rocking in a volatile manner, growing more and more unstable as the sieges from the Kandrian Empire began to bubble away at their surface.
“Activate our gamma ray cannons.” The commander instructed his crew. “Attack the Kandrian Empire.”
“Activating gamma ray cannons.”
“Weapons mobilizing.”
“Targets locked.
“Attacking target in three… two… one…”
BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM!!!
A giant surge of gamma radiation emerged from the ships of the Evolutionary Army, charging straight towards the Kandrian Empire, threatening to obliterate all life in the entire nation.
Yet, an invisible energy barrier emerged around the Kandrian Empire, filtering out the gamma radiation that was hostile to all life. This was the same technology that the Hlakaschken Trade Empire had used to protect its people from the gamma radiation of the Dragon Emperor. It was a technology invented by the dwarves specifically for that purpose, and was later adopted by all the first-world powers. The Trade Empire had passed on the technology to the Kandrian Empire shortly after their alliance treaty, just in time for the Panamic Alliance to erect this and other technologies across the continent before the war broke out.
The Kandrian Empire continued firing laser beam sieges at the incoming naval forces, while the latter defended and fired back with gamma radiation attacks as it drew closer.
Until, of course, it was intercepted by the naval forces of the Panamic Alliance.
“ATTACK!” Blood Lord Vrukshus charged forth from his fleet along with several dozen Martial Sages and countless other Martial Artists.
