Chapter 3650: Potential Diagnostic Apparatus

Rui understood her qualms. This was the unfortunate effect of sharing his hypothesis with a Mother of Nature. It put the Panama Continent at odds with the rest of the world if their speculations were indeed true. If there ever came a time when the Panama Continent was unwilling to make necessary changes to save the entire planet, then Mother Maeria would definitely be compelled to take action.

As far as Rui was concerned, this was an acceptable situation. It would do some good to have external pressure compel the Panama Continent, should the need ever arise to protect the entire planet. Perhaps that would move even his stubborn father on the matter.

“We are not suicidal,” Rui assured the Mother of Nature. “We will endeavor to work with the international community to solve this problem. For now, we need confirmation and proof. Everything that we have conveyed to you about our hypothesis is just that: a hypothesis. What we need is proof that this scenario is going to unfold. We need to find the virus. We need to find the mechanism by which Gaia enlarges. We need to find the relationship between esoteric matter and these matters, and what purpose it has in our world.”

The Mother of Nature nodded with a serious expression. “You came to the right person. I am equipped with the necessary means to solve this problem. Especially once we get our hands on negatron matter. I will be able to conjure up wormholes and deploy my roots across the entire planet. Once we overcome our greatest weakness and shortcomings, we will become considerably more capable outside of East Genora.”

Rui truly couldn’t help but look forward to the elves getting their hands on negatron matter, the Mothers of Nature in particular. Because they were rooted in one place permanently, negatron matter could become a complete game-changer for how they deployed their power and what they did.

“Good.” Rui nodded. “With you and the Divine Doctor on the job, I am confident that we will discover something. Once you have, we can convey the proof to my father and then compel him to see the truth. Even if he is reluctant, he will not refuse irrefutable evidence staring him in the face. Hopefully, we can work together to fix a problem that affects all of us.”

“I do hope that is the case,” Mother Maeria replied. “I despise war. Even the one that we are currently going through. If not for the fact that we can’t afford not to get our hands on negatron matter, I would rather not have had to partake in it.”

“I intend to commence my search in the Panama Continent,” the Divine Doctor remarked, turning to the Mother of Nature. “Are you able to operate in the Panama Continent? From what I understand, that is still beyond your ability at the moment.”

Mother Maeria nodded with a calm expression. “For now, I am unable to project my power beyond the Panama Continent. Negatron matter is the key, as I mentioned. Once I can generate large wormholes, I can plant giant seeds containing a portion of my mind, and they can bloom into mini-Mothers of Nature.”

Rui’s eyes widened. “Wait, you can do that?”

“Of course, one of the first things that Mothers of Nature do when we advance to our rank is to begin designing a seed that can sprout into a minor vessel that can carry a chunk of our consciousness. It is an imperfect solution to the distance problem, but it has its constraints and limitations. We call them Daughters of Nature.”

“And you intend to implant one in the Panama Continent to commence the search for the source of the enlargening, the virus, or to study the interactions between esoteric matter and the Panama Continent?” Rui raised an eyebrow.

“With permission, of course,” Mother Maeria replied knowingly. “You can monitor the Daughter as extensively as you please. But it will allow me to partake in the search for the secrets of the Panama Continent.”

“You can also coordinate with our Elder Tree. He’s a good guy and is a good ally to human civilization. Right now, he runs the beasts and monsters on the continent.”

“I have heard of your native sentient tree lifeforms. I would be very curious to be able to interact with them. Indeed, the Panama Continent is a treasure trove of exotic flora. We should have followed in the footsteps of our western sisters and established a friendly relationship with the forces of the Panama Continent from the very get-go,” she remarked. “But alas, my elven sisters were too foolish to see the truth. Then again, I too was consumed by my own matters to see the truth.”

“It’s not a mistake that can’t be fixed,” Rui consoled her. “My father would gladly welcome more allies as long as he thinks that you’re being sincere. In your negotiations with him, you should request him for the opportunity to plant a Daughter of Nature in the Beast Domain, and he should be willing to agree with some heavy caveats.”

The three of them continued discussing how they were going to handle this investigation into the depths of the Panama Continent and esoteric matter, creating a set of plans that the Mother of Nature and the Divine Doctor could work with and possible allies they could get their hands on for different scenarios.

“You don’t intend to partake in this investigation?” Mother Maeria raised an eyebrow.

Rui shook his head. “Not immediately, yes. I have some extremely pressing personal business to tackle. I expect that it will make me vastly more capable and stronger than I was before, allowing me to contribute more.”

“I see… in that case, I look forward to seeing how much stronger you get. The stronger we are, the better we will be able to handle a common threat. For now, let us make the necessary preparations we need in order to secure the safety of Gaia and all life that she harbors.”
