The Luna's Revenge: Chosen as his breeder, Born to rule
Chapter 99: The Alpha Just Became My Slave
Tessa’s POV
The test results were out.
The doctor had called me personally and asked me to come to the hospital. He said the information was too detailed to relay over the phone. He wanted me to see it for myself.
I wondered what the results would be.
The next day, I drove out to the hospital alone. I didn’t even tell Lucian where I was going. He had already been ignoring me, so there was no use explaining that I was trying to confirm whether I could get pregnant from a one-night encounter.
The previous day, I had initiated the second batch of lady wolves who were supposed to gain employment in the parliament ... women placed among people who mattered. I was so relieved to get that off my chest. Only the third batch remained. I was meeting expectations and doing everything I said I was going to do.
The people loved me for it. Their appreciation motivated me to want to do more.
But no matter what I did, people would always have expectations, and I would wear myself out chasing them eventually. Still, I had to keep going ... because those expectations were what had gotten me here in the first place.
They expected me to give the Alpha an heir.
The results I was about to receive would be shared with Lucian. I had already made that decision. I crossed my heart and stepped inside, peeling away every layer of tension, preparing myself for anything.
"Good morning, Doctor. What’s the diagnosis?" I went straight to him, no pleasantries.
"Please be patient with what I’m about to tell you," he said carefully.
"Go straight to it, Doctor. What’s the issue?" I kept my voice steady. I refused to let it rise.
He glanced around and guided me away from the open space, leading me into a private room where no one could see us. He pulled up the scan results and walked me through everything he had first flagged in my room the day before ... only this time, he expanded on it.
I stared at the screen. Something was wrong. Even I could see it.
"What you’re looking at is a ruptured fallopian tube," he said. "Caused by intense force. That’s why I asked if you had ever undergone an abortion."
I licked my teeth slowly.
"So what does this mean, Doctor?"
"It means..." He paused. "It means you can’t get pregnant, Luna."
I kept my face still.
"You mean I can’t get pregnant ... ever?"
"Ever, Luna," he confirmed.
"Alright, Doctor. Thank you for the diagnosis. You’ve done your job well." I said it like I was dismissing a meeting.
"You could speak to your husband, the Alpha, about alternative conception methods ... ways to still secure an heir..."
"What methods?"
He hesitated. "Surrogacy, Luna. It’s surrogacy."
"Don’t you ever let that word leave your mouth in my presence again," I warned him, my voice dropping to something cold and final.
He gave a quick apology and left the room immediately.
I couldn’t reconcile it ... what was happening to me and what my life was supposed to look like. The two didn’t match. They couldn’t exist in the same sentence.
I couldn’t imagine Lucian with another woman. Not in our home. Not in our bed. Not ever. We were in this together. It was me, or it was no one. I was the only one fit for him ... in this life and the next. My obsession with Lucian had long since crossed into something consuming. He had taken over my soul, hollowed it out until there was nothing left that wasn’t shaped around him.
I locked the door behind the doctor and slid to the floor.
And I cried. I cried until my chest hurt and my eyes burned and there was nothing left to cry out.
It felt like a dream. But it was sickeningly real.
I couldn’t get pregnant. I couldn’t give the Alpha an heir. But he wasn’t the problem ... he could have a child with anyone he chose. That was the cruelest part of it.
Lucian had ruined me. I had wanted to give him everything, and he had destroyed me before I ever got the chance.
In that moment, soaked in my own tears, I wished more than anything that my father was still here. At least then I would have had someone to tell. Someone to hold me while the world fell apart.
I was broken. And I was completely alone.
I picked myself up off that floor.
I wiped my face. I straightened my spine.
I refused to let this break me beyond what it already had. There was something dark stirring inside me ... a beast that the news was trying to drag out into the open. But for Lucian, I wouldn’t let it. For love, I would swallow it back down.
I chose to let love lead.
I opened the door, fixed my expression into something close to composed, and slid my sunglasses on. I had come prepared for bad news.
I just hadn’t known it would be this bad.
As I rushed to my car, people recognised me almost immediately. "Luna! Luna!" The chants followed me to the curb.
That chant. I used to love it. Now I heard it differently ... like a verdict being read aloud. Proof of what they wanted from me, not who I was. I was slowly understanding that their love wasn’t unconditional. No one’s was. They were using me to get what they needed, and the moment I stopped being useful, they would squeeze me dry and move on.
I met Lucian in the evening when he came back.
"Lucian," I called out and stepped forward to take his bag from him.
"Hey, Tessa," he said. Cold, as always.
"You didn’t even ask how I was doing," I told him.
He didn’t look at me.
"Lucian, I’m talking to you."
"Don’t hold me like that," he said flatly.
"You don’t even care," I said. The bitterness was starting to bleed through.
"I called the doctor. I know he saw you," he replied.
"You don’t know everything. There’s been a diagnosis."
"What diagnosis, Tessa?" He looked at me then ... actually looked ... concern flickering behind his eyes. Or maybe it was the instinct to protect his own image. Hard to tell the difference with Lucian.
"The doctor said I can’t get pregnant. Ever. My fallopian tube is ruptured."
"What do you mean it’s ruptured? What the hell..."
"You don’t know how it happened?" I asked quietly. "You don’t remember?"
"Remember what? Tessa, stop beating around the bush."
"You don’t remember when you fucked me, and I got pregnant, and then you had the pup removed when you found out?"
His face went still. He didn’t want to accept it, and every muscle in his expression was fighting to deny it.
"Who told you that’s what I did? Why would you accuse me of something like that?"
"You remember, Lucian." My voice was calm. Deadly calm. "You remember the juice you gave me ... the one laced with an antibiotic that killed the pup growing inside me. My biggest mistake was leaving my pregnancy test in the bathroom."
He melted. Right in front of me. The composure cracked and something heavy settled over him.
He understood exactly what was at stake. He was married to me. This could destroy him ... his image, his credibility, everything he had built as Alpha. If he weren’t my husband, he might have had options. But he was. I was his Luna, and the people loved me, which meant I had every advantage.
He had to beg. He just didn’t know how to do it yet.
"We can still make this work," he said instead. "The doctor must have suggested other options. Surrogacy..."
"No apology?" I cut him off. "You ruined me, Lucian. Power consumed you. Maybe it changed you too. Don’t let it be your downfall."
"I didn’t know what I was doing. I was still young," he said.
"So you’re admitting you did it."
Silence.
"As for the other options ... we’re not doing surrogacy. I will never have another woman near you. You belong to me and only me. And now?" I let that sit for a moment. "Now I’m going to make sure of it."
He looked at me slowly. "What are you saying?"
"I won’t expose what you did. You’re the only wolf I’ve ever been with, and everyone in this pack knows that. But that silence comes with conditions." I held his gaze. "You will come to me whenever I want. Only me. You’ll give me what I need and do what I say. That’s the deal."
He bit his lip. His jaw tightened.
There was no way out of this one.
"Done," he said ... low, reluctant, and completely trapped.
And just like that, the Alpha became mine.
