The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 2059: Hua Zhan Must Suffer for Him to Thrive

  • Next Chapter

Hua Zhan lowered his head and met Kitty’s questioning and wary eyes, his smile turning a bit more genuine: "If people don’t mess with me, I won’t mess with them."

Little Taotie felt conflicted.

Technically speaking, Hua Zhan’s stepmother was the one who poisoned her.

Hua Zhan striking back at his stepmother was essentially avenging her.

But this method, wasn’t it too extreme?

Little Taotie dared not imagine what the consequences would have been if Mr. Hua had drunk the entire glass of milk that day.

"Little Useless, what are you thinking about?"

Hua Zhan reached out and flicked the distracted Kitty on the forehead, offering a piece of cat treat to Kitty’s mouth.

Little Taotie instinctively opened her mouth to eat it.

Admittedly, cat food is delicious!

Little Taotie savored it, still wanting more, and looked up at Hua Zhan with big eyes.

"Want more?"

Hua Zhan grinned: "Say ’meow’, let me hear it."

"Meow!"

"Little Useless, you can’t even meow properly, you’re really useless."

Hua Zhan looked disdainful, but still fed Kitty the treat.

Having lived beside him for some time, Little Taotie no longer resisted his embrace or his feeding, and since he had a face just like Huahua’s, naturally grew a bit closer to him, falling asleep in his arms once full.

Gazing at the sweetly sleeping Kitty in his arms, Hua Zhan murmured softly, "No one can hurt you."

Little Taotie awoke groggily, hearing Hua Zhan’s muffled groans.

It was a sound restrained by pain.

Little Taotie stealthily went to find Hua Zhan, seeing through the slightly ajar study door that Hua Zhan’s father was stabbing him with a needle!

Hua Zhan had no unscarred place on his body; the culprit turned out to be his father!

Little Taotie was utterly shocked.

That man was ruthlessly saying, "You’re a jinx to me, only if you’re unwell can I be well, you can’t blame me."

Each time, tormenting the boy would bring in many orders the next day, and good fortune would descend, just like that fortune teller said, as long as the child wasn’t well, he would be.

The fortune teller had been brought in by his wife, now ex-wife.

At first, he’d just thought it was his ex-wife’s ploy to drive away the illegitimate child, but no sooner had the child arrived than he’d had to have his appendix removed, then got hit by a car on the way home from the hospital, and when he went back to the hospital, there was a fire, specifically on his floor. One coincidence, two, three, it couldn’t just be explained away as coincidence.

After tormenting Hua Zhan for a while, Mr. Hua confirmed that the child wouldn’t die, but his condition wouldn’t improve much either, and then he left the study.

He needed the child to stay alive, to continually bring him good luck.

Little Taotie had initially intended to rush in to save Hua Zhan, but was whisked away by the arriving maid.

The maid clutched the little kitten tightly, trembling: "Looks like I can’t last much longer in this household. Even though the pay is high, there’s just too much trouble! And knowing about something like this, who knows if I might get silenced! Little Useless, you better be good, and not rush into things like this. Mr. Hua won’t beat his son to death, but who knows about a little kitten like you, what if you got accidentally killed?"

The maid seemed truly frightened, trying to relieve her anxiety with her chatter, muttering, "You know, characters like this, strong yet tragic, always turn into villains in novels, and it usually takes the sacrifice of an accompanying little animal for them to turn! These little animals often die miserably, skinned and peeled and whatnot..."

Little Taotie: "..." She thought this maid sister could definitely write novels after her maid career.

After hearing the garage door close and confirming Mr. Hua’s departure, the maid carried the kitten to the study to find Hua Zhan.

Hua Zhan was already dressed neatly, acting as if nothing had happened.
