The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 1957: Can You Forgive Her Betrayal?

  • Next Chapter

The sea returned to calm. Little Taotie stood quietly on the deck, her whole being radiating a kind of cold stillness that kept people a thousand miles away.

A shifty-eyed pirate tried to slip away in the chaos. A sea turtle that had come back from the dead lunged up, bit into his neck, and just before the turtle snapped his neck, Little Taotie spoke: "Where is the abandoned factory?"

"Help me—help me—"

"I can leave you a complete corpse, that’s all."

"No! I won’t talk! Help me!"

Little Taotie’s gaze fell calmly on the sea turtle. The Water Ghost Ghost King possessing the turtle opened his mouth: "We already spared him once. He’s the one who tried to run."

"I know. No need to leave him a whole corpse."

"You’ve finally come around. This man carries heavy murderous energy. Who knows how many people he’s killed. Letting him go when his sins are this deep is just committing sin yourself..." The Ghost King tore him apart. The moment his soul body appeared, the Ghost King slammed a palm down and pressed it into the seawater.

Originally, the number of people on the yacht wasn’t nearly enough to be split among all these helping Water Ghosts; some were bound to be unable to reincarnate. But now several pirate ships had been delivered like dishes, each with anywhere from hundreds to a thousand people aboard, adding up to over ten thousand.

Nearly ten thousand people were buried in this sea. The water turned red, but soon returned to calm.

Because this was the high seas, no one would bother about the pirates who died here, much less salvage the pirate ships.

Ghost Enforcer Uncle came back after finishing collecting souls, and as soon as he returned he was stunned: "Wasn’t it just a yacht? How did it turn into so many... This has gotten way out of hand. I don’t think even the Lord Judge can clean this up."

Little Taotie frowned: "Didn’t you leave? What are you back for?"

"I was just passing by... I’ll be on my way after a look." He had originally come back to see if he could help. Now he felt he couldn’t help at all; if anything, he might even lose his job. Better to leave first.

Seeing him scuttle off with his tail between his legs, Little Taotie’s perpetually icy face finally softened a little.

At some point, Hua Jinyan had come to stand beside her: "Don’t worry, Uncle Tie has already gone to check the abandoned factory."

Ghost Enforcer Uncle turned back again.

Little Taotie: "...Why are you back again?"

"I just remembered there’s one more thing I have to tell you. That Lin something—anyway, your friend’s grandpa—he’s not dead."

"Hm?"

Ghost Enforcer Uncle said awkwardly: "I was thinking, if he died, I’d use what little connections I have to buy him some time so he could come see you guys. But later I went to check and found no such person."

"Maybe like Uncle Tie... not necessarily dead."

"He’s not dead." Uncle Tie had returned.

Little Taotie was surprised: "He really isn’t dead?"

Uncle Tie nodded: "In the area closest to the incident, there are three abandoned factories. In one of them, fresh bloodstains appeared. Just as I was about to check, I saw an old man sneaking around who looks a bit like your friend. He was injured. He probably passed out from his wounds and was mistaken for dead."

"Where is he now?" Little Taotie asked anxiously.

"I saw his foot was injured, so I got a phone and tossed it near him. He thought it was dropped by a pirate and used the phone to call the police. The police should be arriving soon. Oh, and he called your friend. Your friend should already know his grandpa’s situation."

Little Taotie went back onto the boat and saw Xiao Lingzhi on the phone.

She was probably on the phone with Grandpa Lin.

Little Taotie tried to walk over, but Hua Jinyan blocked her path.

Hua Jinyan said in a low voice: "You’d better think this through. Can you really forgive her betrayal?"
