At this moment, the train let out a loud whistle.

White steam swept past the window, blurring the fields outside, while the Thunder City station simultaneously came into view for everyone.

In the last carriage of the train, Councilor Dibico, standing in the smoking area, wore a stunned expression. The cigar held between his fingers almost dropped to the ground.

He never expected that in just half a month, such a large construction site would appear near the previously deserted train station!

"By Saint Sis..." Councilor Dibico, who had departed from here half a month ago, exclaimed with the same amazement as a certain princess who had just returned home.

And within that sigh, there was also a bit of regret similar to that of his old rival, Councilor Horace—

These guys moved too fast!

...

With the train's long whistle tearing through the sky, the "Prince's Train" glided like a homing steel giant dragon into the station on the outskirts of Thunder City.

Underneath the newly laid glass dome, sunlight was cut into brick-like shadows by the steel framework, spilling over the bustling platform.

The busy platform did not clear out entirely for Princess Erin's return. Instead, it was filled with dizzying clamor and hectic activity.

Porters hurriedly carried heavy boxes along the platform's edge, while train conductors whistled to maintain order. A newsboy waved a fresh ink-scented copy of the Thunder City Daily, bumping right into Horace, who had just stepped off the train.

"Sir! Sorry to stop your steps. It seems like you're in a hurry. You must be a big-time businessman! And I happen to have the latest issue of the Thunder City Daily here. You can read it in your carriage—it can save you a lot of wandering time!"

Horace didn't buy the newspaper but still left two notes in the newsboy's hands, speaking hastily.

"Where is the land auction nearby? Quick, take me there!"

Based on Horace's experience, no one knew the rumors of the streets and alleys better than a newsboy since they were immersed here every day.

And as for why it was two silver pounds, it was, of course, because he was too hurried and slipped.

The young man was stunned for a moment, and upon seeing the two silver pounds in his hand, he joyfully pocketed the money, fastening his satchel.

"By Saint Sith… may He bless you, sir! This way, please!"

No time to feel the sting of giving away that extra piece of paper, Horace, pained, followed behind the young man.

He worked hard to keep up the brisk pace, forcing a proper smile onto his face as he spoke to the young man walking ahead.

"What's your name?"

"Ruer! Sir!"

"You look pretty sharp, do you live around here?"

"Of course! I've been here since I was a child! I'm familiar with every brick here! Both the new and the old ones!"

"Very good! So do you know which direction people head after getting off the train? I want to know which way is more crowded..."

"It's the road right in front of you! Sir!"

In an effort to make up for the extra silver pound he had given away, the breathless Horace asked a bunch of questions, gradually realizing that he was surprisingly in sync with this young man named Ruer.

This guy is a natural salesman.

While discussing his plans to invest in a Horace train, the young man, while praising his brilliant idea, suggested that Miss Kaylee should wear clothes from the Horace Textile Factory.

This genius idea shocked Horace. How had he not thought of advertising on Miss Eloise?!

Although the actors of the Iris Flower Theater Troupe wore high-end bespoke tailored outfits, it didn't mean the Horace Textile Factory couldn't supply their costumes!

He could spend some sponsorship money, then hire a couple of tailors to help alter the clothes, and then openly publish the news in the newspapers—

Miss Eloise's dress was made by the Horace Textile Factory!

He could almost foresee that all the women in Thunder City would go crazy for the Horace name!

Looking at this sharp young man, Horace liked him more and more.

Thinking it better to trust the arrangement of fate than to go far and wide, he handed this smart kid a business card.

"I plan to open a... or maybe many stores, aimed at the passengers of the train station. Just as you have experience in this area, are you interested in collaborating with the great Councilor Horace?"

"Councilor? You… are a councilor?" Ruer stared wide-eyed in surprise, never expecting such a distinguished gentleman to bother with him.

Although Councilor Horace was just a minor character in front of Baron Gess, for Ruer, who lived on the outskirts, the gentleman was the biggest figure he could imagine.

"That's right, you can find me at the address on the business card."

"So, are we going to look for shop locations? How many stores are you planning to open?! You've found the right person, I'm the best newsboy on this street, you can ask anyone!"

Clutching the business card, Ruer was so excited that sweat was dripping from his palms, while Mr. Horace, trailing behind him, was nearly exhausted.

"Wherever the Duke's railway reaches, my stores... will go there... Ha, by Saint Sis, how much longer do we have to walk? If it's more than a kilometer, I think we should call for a carriage! No point in saving this money!"

Just as Horace was propping himself up on his knees, panting heavily by the roadside, Princess Erin and Prince Colin finally walked out of the station through the bustling crowd.
