Vlad turned around within Seraphina’s arms. Her serene face was revealed as she looked up at him with her pink eyes, her chin resting on his chest and her lips carrying a warm smile.

"Why are you still here?" Vlad asked in a soft voice. He raised his hand to stroke her head but stopped midway as guilt overtook him.

"Of course, I was waiting for you," Seraphina answered, locking her hands around his waist at his back. Naturally, she noticed him avoiding eye contact. "What happened? Did the Vice Principal scold you?"

"Sera, I..." Vlad’s words died in his throat the moment his eyes fell on her face. He realised he loved her too much to put her in any danger.

He closed his eyes. When he opened them, he formed a gentle smile. "What would you do if he really scolded me?"

He decided that her safety was more important, even if he had to hide the truth from her.

"First, I would ask the reason he scolded you," Seraphina answered. "If it was a genuine reason, then I would scold you as well."

"Eh?" Vlad frowned.

"But! If the reason was not genuine, I would confront him for scolding my boyfriend!" Seraphina muttered in a serious tone. Something about her face told Vlad that she would actually confront Aldric.

"You can’t just fight the Vice Principal over such a small reason," Vlad chuckled, finally raising his hand and patting her head.

"I can fight the whole world for you," Seraphina answered instantly, leaving Vlad frozen for a second.

His hand moved down from her head to her waist. His firm grip held her there, her feet lifting off the floor as he hugged her tightly.

"Anh... you can’t hug a lady so tightly," Seraphina whimpered in his arms. "My chest hurts."

"Thank you, Sera," Vlad whispered, still holding her, his cheek pressed against her long, slender neck. "Your words really mean a lot to me."

Seraphina let him hug her. He seemed down for some reason, so she wanted to comfort him. Once he finally released his grip, she lowered herself, resting her toes upon his.

"So how did things go with Chloe?" Seraphina asked with a playful grin.

"W-well..." Vlad turned his gaze sideways, rubbing the back of his head. "She is also my girlfriend now."

No response came from Seraphina. When Vlad’s gaze shifted back to her, he found her giving him a narrowed stare.

"W-we already discussed it and you agreed to it," Vlad blurted, worried by the clear anger on her face. "You can’t get angry at me now."

"Why can’t I?" Seraphina groaned, pressing her toes onto Vlad’s, as if her light weight could do anything to him. "I agreed to you being a scumbag, but that doesn’t mean I would praise you when you bring me a co-wife."

Vlad’s brows rose, his lips curling into a wide, foolish smile.

"What are you grinning for?" Seraphina growled, pinching his back where her hand rested.

"You just called Chloe your co-wife. Doesn’t that mean you are indirectly calling me your husband?" Vlad stated, his grin only widening. He let out a low, playful gasp as he teased, "I didn’t know my Sera was moving so fast."

Seraphina’s face turned instantly crimson, the color spreading from her cheeks all the way to the tips of her ears.

"I didn’t mean it like that!" Her voice cracked, climbing half an octave higher than she had intended. "It was just a figure of speech!"

Vlad said nothing. He only raised an eyebrow, his grin refusing to budge.

"Stop looking at me like that!" She shoved at his chest with both hands, but there was no strength behind it. Her fingers curled into his shirt instead, as if they had forgotten they were supposed to be pushing him away. "Use your brain before you open your mouth, you idiot!"

"I’m not the one who said it," Vlad commented, enjoying every moment of her flustered face and squirming figure.

"You’re the worst," she mumbled, withdrawing her hands from his shirt.

"Your husband, you mean?"

"AANN... VLAD!" Seraphina cried, as if begging him to stop teasing her.

Vlad broke into low laughter, ruffling the hair of his girlfriend, who looked even cuter while flustered. If only he could paint a picture of her making such an adorable expression.

Seraphina frowned at first, but as her eyes took in Vlad’s striking face, which looked even more enchanting when he laughed, a smile unknowingly formed on her face as well. If only she could paint a picture of him making such an attractive expression.

As Vlad’s laughter slowly faded, Seraphina said, "Vlad, I want to ask you something."

"Yes, what is it?" Vlad asked, the smile still lingering on his face.

"Whom do you love more? Me or Chloe?" Seraphina asked, arms crossed and gaze narrowed.

Chloe had asked the exact same question the previous night. And Vlad, as any sane person would, decided to exercise his right to remain silent.

Seraphina’s frown only deepened. "How smart of you to act like you didn’t hear me at all."

Vlad just looked upward, as if deeply fascinated by the white clouds in the high sky.

"Then tell me this... when did you fall for me?" Seraphina asked, crossing her arms beneath her chest.

Vlad’s eyes lowered again. His shamelessness truly left Seraphina speechless.

"Why do you want to know that?" Vlad asked, genuinely curious.

"Just give me the answer!"

Vlad released a sigh. He took a step forward and answered, his deep voice low and gentle,

"I don’t know the exact day I fell for you. I only know there wasn’t a day after that when I didn’t."

He took another step forward, stopping right in front of Seraphina as he continued, "I’m still falling for you... and I think I will keep falling for you for a long, long time."

Seraphina was left with slightly parted lips, crimson-tinted cheeks, and a heart that might burst out of her chest at any moment with how loudly it was beating.

For a few seconds, no words came out of her mouth, overwhelmed by Vlad’s bold confession. He wasn’t very good at showing his feelings. How had he become so good with words already?

"You asked me why I was here, right?" Seraphina murmured. She took a candy out of her pocket, the same one Vlad had given her in the Forest of Death. "I thought you would feel nauseous after the teleportation, so I wanted to offer you a candy to make you feel better."

She unwrapped the candy.

"But you look completely fine. Still, I want to give you this candy."

Vlad extended his hand. To his surprise, she moved the candy to her own mouth. "But too bad, I also want to taste it. So..." She took a gulp, the candy still between her teeth. "Do you want to share it?"

With that question, she moved the candy back onto her tongue.
