The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

The saying that what was will be again was exaggerated.

In history, the title “Paragon” was one that many feared. The gods fear it, and even the heavens are scared of it.

It was said that many people casually put titles on themselves.

They used these titles to do many things.

But only one transcended all in the billions of titles that ruled the universe.

The title Paragon was owned by one person who wasn’t afraid to claim it.

Nobody else would be stupid enough to take that title for themselves, for the heavens would annihilate them even before they thought of it.

So, for someone to boldly declare this title was like an insult to the heavens.

They were angry, and Klaus was also furious.

His saber clashed against the sword the snake lady wielded, creating a powerful shockwave. However, she was forced to retreat as the [Demon Cutting Disc] appeared behind her, aiming for her neck.

She reacted quickly and evaded, but the moment she landed, a scythe appeared from the side, slicing toward her throat. Queen Lunara swung her flaming scythe at the snake lady, forcing her to retreat again.

But Klaus didn’t let her. His spirit weapon, a pointed spear, pierced through the air, aiming for her chest. She twisted away, allowing only the spear to leave a shallow cut on her arm.

But it healed in the next second—only for her to be blasted away by a blood bomb. Queenie had coated the ground in blood, and the moment the snake lady landed, the ground exploded beneath her feet.

“Die!”

A flaming arrow arrived a second later, exploding in her face and sending her flying once more.

The battle had only just begun, yet the Level 8 Void Stage snake was already being overwhelmed by Klaus and the three women.

In just a few exchanges, the Level 4 Void Stage Queen of the Moon Borns had proven herself a formidable warrior.

She wielded a scythe imbued with flame, making all her attacks scorching hot.

If Klaus was in the right mindset, he would have appreciated her body and focused more on her chest area, which seemed to bounce whenever she slashed her weapon.

“Humans, I will kill you all!” the snake lady, now burned in many places, shouted as her body exploded with energy.

Suddenly, the entire space began to freeze, forcing Klaus and his ladies to retreat. They knew the being they were fighting was far above them in level, but strangely, they did not care.

Instead, they faced her with unwavering determination.

But now, things had changed. The snake lady had had enough of them and had taken her beast form. A strikingly beautiful white snake appeared, stretching over 250 meters.

The moment she transformed, frost spread everywhere.

“I will kill you all,” she said again as a powerful light shone from her body.

Klaus and the ladies instinctively shielded their eyes. It wasn’t a normal light, and Klaus knew that. However, when the light faded, four colossal snakes stood before them, gazing down.

“Those are all Level 5 Void Stage beings,” Klaus thought grimly. Then, turning to the ladies, he warned, “Be careful. We’re not fighting an ordinary snake.”

He didn’t want to scare them, so he said nothing about the heavens. Telling them will be like dumping a bug of Karma on them.

Instead, he moved swiftly, isolating one of the snakes. Queen Lunara, Queenie, and Nari did the same, each taking on an opponent.

Queen Lunara knew she held the key to victory.

At Level 4, she had the highest chance of winning. Queenie was Level 2, and Nari was Level 1. In the Void Stage, every level mattered, and the two lower-ranked ladies wouldn’t be able to do much.

So she must defeat her opponent early. At least that was her plan. But the battle has just begun, and plans tend to change in combat.

Klaus, however, was an anomaly. She didn’t factor him into normal calculations.

“Be careful, Nari. Don’t get reckless,” Queenie warned. Then, her expression shifted as a powerful red aura surged from her eyes. She lifted her sword, locking onto the massive snake before her.

“Asura Blood Transformation.”

A complex diagram, housing seven smaller diagrams within it, appeared in the air.

“First Blood Transformation: Blood Berserker!”

Her body erupted with energy as she charged at the colossal snake, clashing violently.

The battle was overwhelming—a storm of blood-red and white snow colliding in a chaotic dance of destruction.

Meanwhile, Nari engaged her opponent, fire clashing against ice. Their attacks painted the battlefield in a shocking spectacle of searing heat and frozen devastation.

Queen Lunara also isolated her opponent, doing her best to overwhelm her. Behind her, a massive diagram appeared, containing five smaller diagrams, each housing a distinct transformation ability.

Like her daughter, Queenie, she was also using a transformation technique that granted her overwhelming strength—but at a cost.

However, that cost would come after the battle. Right now, she was fighting against the heavens, unaware of the karma she was placing upon herself.

After this battle, her relationship with Klaus would change, for anyone who aided a Paragon was doomed in the eyes of the heavens.

“Asura, Crazy Sword Slash!”

Klaus unleashed his signature move, a powerful crimson sword arc slamming into the snake and forcing it backward.

But in his blind spot, a colossal tail lashed toward him.

At the last moment, he used [Vanishing Step] to evade.

However, as he reappeared in a new position, a piercing ice shard shot up from the ground, aiming for his back.

The [Demon Cutting Disc] arrived in time, shattering the shard before Klaus launched himself upward, unleashing a devastating lightning beam that sent the snake crashing down.

Yet, a chill ran down his spine as he gazed upon the massive white serpent, completely unscathed.

Klaus knew this enemy wasn’t something he could handle easily—if at all.

But one thing was certain.

All four snakes had to die by his hand. The ladies shouldn’t kill them, for they wouldn’t survive after the killing.

But if he told them not to kill the snakes, the heavens would take this as a warning to the three ladies. This would cause the heavenly punishment to fall on them.

If he failed to kill the snakes too, the three ladies would be in danger, and he was not prepared for that.

Meanwhile, the soldiers and Klaus’s team, still at the camp, were about to receive a brutal welcome from one of the most destructive monsters in the Badlands—the Diamond Body Brute Elephant and its 1,200 juggernauts.
