Chapter 1256: Chapter 1276

"Come on, don’t, I read your face—your Family must have a sick person, right? And it’s the tricky, rare kind of illness. As it happens, I’m pretty decent at medicine, I can treat your family member!" Qiao Qiqi immediately pulled aside the two men shielding her and stepped out to speak.

Rong You: "?"

Feng Xiling: "??"

The people behind them heard what Qiqi said and once again raised the guns in their hands in perfect unison, all aiming at her—at least a few dozen.

However, this man’s subordinates looked utterly shocked, nervously turning to their boss.

Qiqi instantly caught that reaction. No way—she’d just been talking nonsense, and she’d actually hit the mark.

"How old are you to be shooting your mouth off like that? You can cure people? Have you even graduated from med school?" One of the underlings glared at Qiqi and questioned coldly.

"I’m still studying at Jing University, but you can check my medical record—I really have cured quite a few people, and they were all tough, complicated cases." Qiqi hurried to explain.

To keep the three of them alive, she had no choice but to hustle her medical skills like crazy. Damn it, in this life when had she ever been treated like this?

Usually it was other people chasing her down begging to be seen; today it was her chasing people, begging to treat them.

"Yeah, she’s the one who cured me. I should’ve been dead a year ago." Feng Xiling spoke up at once.

Of course these people knew Feng Xiling; they also knew that he used to be vicious and ruthless, but his style suddenly changed a year ago. They didn’t know why, only that they’d heard his terminal illness had been cured by someone.

"Lock the three of them up first." The leader ordered coldly.

Qiqi and the others didn’t dare resist; they had no weapons and were basically lambs waiting to be slaughtered.

So the three of them, dejected, were shoved back into the cell where Rong You had been held before.

"Qiao Qiqi, I’m finding you pretty capable these days—you can read faces now?" Feng Xiling said in a low voice.

"What else could I do? I’m just trying to stay alive—there’s three lives here. The only thing I’m really good at that I can use right now is medicine. I just thought his face really did look like he had disaster hanging over him, so I made up a story. Didn’t expect the blind cat to bump into a dead rat for real." Qiqi whispered back.

"Little Sister, you’re amazing." Rong You’s eyes were shining as he looked at his little sister.

"Thank you for the compliment, Sixth Brother." Qiqi showed a shy, little-girl smile.

"No idea who’s actually sick, but I hope you can cure them." Feng Xiling wasn’t worried about himself; he figured he didn’t have long anyway. He just hoped Qiqi and Rong You could get out.

"Relax, I’ve always been lucky."

Qiqi was getting hungry; after all, they’d been tossed around all night, and her stomach was growling. Seeing this, Feng Xiling volunteered to go ask for food.

Qiqi and Rong You sat down to wait.

"Hey, bring us some good booze and good food, your grandpa here is starving. I’m telling you, if you don’t feed us and my sister’s hungry, she won’t be able to treat anyone. If something happens to the person your Family Head cares about, you can deal with it yourselves." Feng Xiling called out to the people outside.

Qiqi: "..."

That threat sounded like it came from an elementary school kid who hadn’t graduated yet.

But you had to admit, it worked pretty well. Maybe everyone here was terrified of the Demon above them, because they really did bring food.

"Qiqi, thank you this time, really—and it’s been hard on you. Sixth Brother honestly never imagined you’d come to save me." Rong You looked at his sister, deeply moved.
