Chapter 2375: Chapter 2375

Now, I’m afraid it’s even more significant. She’s still connected by blood with three cousins, and now her only guardian has passed away. Legally, her three brothers can’t take charge.

This Yaya is quite clever, knowing which fruit is softest to squeeze.

"Big brother and second brother won’t let me take charge," Ruan Wei said, looking a bit hesitant.

"You must say something anyway," Jiaojiao looked at him, "Call Chi brother right now and see what he thinks."

Ruan Wei twisted his hands, remembering how Ruan Chi warned him each time, he didn’t dare call. Seeing this, Jiaojiao ignored him, turned and went to the living room to grab her phone and called Ruan Chi.

Ruan Chi is usually busy with work, and Jiaojiao often fears disturbing him. She usually sends a message first, waiting for Ruan Chi to reply when he’s free.

This time she called directly. Ruan Chi was discussing a case with a customer, and intended to mute the phone, but seeing it was his sister, he immediately picked up the call and stood, "Director Tan, excuse me, I’ll take this call, my assistant will continue the discussion with you."

Saying that, he signaled his assistant sitting by the desk. The assistant knew his habits. Though it was the first time seeing him take a call during work—feeling surprised but not showing it—came over to take over his work.

Ruan Chi took the phone out to the corridor to answer, his gentle tone causing surprise among others outside the law firm.

"Jiaojiao, what’s up, do you need something from brother?" Ruan Chi asked gently, unconcerned about others’ eyes on him.

He knew how well-behaved Jiaojiao was. If she had something, she would message first. Calling directly meant it was something important. Between a customer and his sister, the priority was clear, so even in a discussion with a customer, he placed her first.

Jiaojiao didn’t waste words, directly explaining Yaya’s situation. Listening, Ruan Chi’s face grew darker, and he finally said to Jiaojiao, "Pass the phone to Ruan Wei, I’ll talk to him."

Jiaojiao glanced at Ruan Wei behind her, whose face was pale, and whispered, "Chi brother, don’t be harsh with Wei brother, talk nicely, okay?"

Despite how this brother often didn’t get things, wasn’t smart and was missing a screw, Jiaojiao still cared for him, unwilling to see him upset.

"Don’t worry, your brother knows what to do," Ruan Chi soothed her.

Only then did Jiaojiao pass the phone to Ruan Wei, who received it with a pale face. It’s unclear what Ruan Chi told him, but his face grew paler, eyes turning red.

The two brothers talked for about five to six minutes, then Ruan Wei handed the phone back with a bloodless face. Jiaojiao heard Ruan Chi’s soft voice through the phone, "Jiaojiao, I’ve explained everything clearly to Xiaowei, don’t worry, enjoy yourself."

"Okay," Jiaojiao answered.

After hanging up, Jiaojiao looked at Ruan Wei’s despondent appearance, didn’t ask what Ruan Chi said, just placed the phone back where it was.

Now that Ruan Chi was aware, Jiaojiao wasn’t worried anymore; she absolutely trusted his ability to handle matters.
