Chapter 2341: Chapter 2341

Even though nobody really believed Ruan Jie’s talk of having a girlfriend, the Ruan Family still started preparing early.

Jiaojiao got up especially early, strolling with Rou Rou and Xiaoxue outside while eagerly looking forward.

However, instead of waiting for her second brother’s girlfriend, she unexpectedly saw someone she didn’t quite like.

"Could you call Duan Xi?" she heard someone speak as she passed by the Shen Family’s house with Xiaoxue and Rou Rou.

Startled by the voice, Jiaojiao looked over, only to see Shen Ting sitting in his own yard, sipping something, whether tea or not. Holding a cup, he had the air of a young master while she felt like a menial maid.

Beside him was the rarely-seen Shen Bai, who smiled when he saw Jiaojiao and greeted her, "Miss Shen, Happy New Year."

Jiaojiao could barely hold back an eye roll at Shen Ting, but she couldn’t show the same to the polite Shen Bai. Despite being unwilling, she led Rou Rou and Xiaoxue into their yard and replied with a smile, "Brother Shen, Happy New Year."

As for Shen Ting, she acted like he wasn’t even there and didn’t hear what he said.

"I’m talking to you, didn’t you hear?" Shen Ting said.

Jiaojiao chuckled, "I heard, but you said it was a bother for me. If you know it’s a bother, why ask me to call him? I didn’t even bring my phone, and just standing here is the same as standing at my own house. You’re the one who needs him, not me, so why don’t you call him yourself?"

Her words were soft yet sharp, leaving Shen Ting speechless, his handsome face changing colors several times before he muttered, "Indeed, only with vile characters and women are difficult to maintain."

"Thank you," Jiaojiao said.

"..." Shen Ting was left silent.

"Hahaha..." Shen Bai laughed heartily beside them. Ever since his brother recovered, he had been the star of his own world; it was truly the first time he saw Shen Ting being shut down like this, leaving him utterly unable to retort, finding it rather amusing.

Jiaojiao laughed along too, knowing there was no real conflict with Shen Ting, but every encounter felt like a cockfight, a tussle that had to happen to feel satisfied.

With a sense of accomplishment from her minor victory, Jiaojiao walked over cheerfully, noticing that they were not drinking tea but coffee. Thinking about it, it made sense; having grown up abroad, they’d prefer coffee over tea in the morning.

"Would you like some?" Shen Bai asked.

Jiaojiao quickly shook her head, "No, I’m not used to it." She had tried the coffee ordered by her brothers in Western restaurants; even with milk and sugar, it was too bitter for her sweet tooth.

Shen Bai didn’t press, inviting her graciously to sit.

Originally wondering if it was too cold to sit in the yard this early, Jiaojiao only discovered once seated that the chairs and tables were heated underneath.

Like a curious little child, she looked around, but couldn’t find any visible heating devices on the table or chairs.

She lifted her head with a surprised look and asked Shen Bai, "Brother Shen, why are these chairs so warm?" ℴℴ𝘮

"Heh, bumpkin," Shen Ting remarked.

"Speak politely," Shen Bai glanced at Shen Ting, then explained to Jiaojiao, "It’s something Shen Ting modified; I don’t understand it either, he’s the one tinkering with all this."
