Ruen unsheathed her sword and spun faster than eyes could blink. The martial artists that participated in the tournament around them suddenly felt numb and lost senses from their skins. When the world felt like it was tilting, their vision went black before their decapitated heads could hit the ground. Dozens of martial artists around her began to collapse as the pool of blood began to cover the ground.

Nie was shocked when she saw Ruen kill everyone around her with a single strike that was too fast for her even to notice. She wasn’t a part of the righteous clans, nor did she believe in the same principles and views as those righteous clans. She knew that what was about to happen, she didn’t want to be there. Without hesitation, she ran away from the courtyard. When she planned to leave the mountain, she felt her heart skipped a beat as if something squeezed her heart. She looked to her left and saw Rasmus staring at her with an impassive expression, like a predator that would chase after her if she made a move.

Nie knew Ruen was Anastasha’s people, but she didn’t know that Ruen was the rumored Queen of the Night. She realized the safest option was to go toward a snake’s den, which was by standing by Anastasha’s side to get a good grace from her. She ran and went toward the building where Anastasha was and hid there, knowing she would be safe near her.

A black smoke began to surround Ruen, and slowly her outfit changed into a long black dress. Her sword slowly grew longer and its color turned dark, darker than black that light was absorbed by it. The black eyeshadow appeared that made her dark red eyes look intimidating with trails of black smoke that came out from the corners of her eyes. She released Mana that induced illogical fear in everyone in the courtyard, that made all of them scream in terror.

"Art of illusion? How could she maintain her illusion when we have arrays that prevented anyone from hiding their true appearance and their Mana?!" Ogun asked with his eyes widened. "Something isn’t right!" He stared at Ruen, realizing that he was wrong about her, and he realized he could have prevented her from entering the mountain and participating in the tournament due to her unknown background.

Ma and the Zeniths were too stunned by the sheer amount of Mana that Ruen released. They could sense corruption and malevolence in her Mana that they were convinced she belonged to the Demonic Cult. The first one to act was Zenith Magura, known as the Invincible Spearman. He didn’t have a weapon on him, but he snatched a spear from one of the participants. He took a quick glance at the spear and the way it weighed in his hands. He knew the spear wouldn’t be able to handle his Aura, but it was strong enough to do a single powerful thrust.

Magura dashed toward Ruen and coated the spear with his Aura that the wooden body of the spear began to shred into splinters. Ruen glanced at him as Magura thrust his spear toward her face, but before the spearhead could reach her skin, the steel melted and the wooden handle, along with the splinters turned into ashes from her proximity.

Magura was shocked and immediately stomped on the ground and jumped away from her. Ruen tilted her head and stared at Magura with a condescending look in her eyes. When she flicked her hand, the ones that were affected by terror suddenly began to catch on fire, the scariest part was the fact they weren’t aware that they were being burned alive and were still screaming in fear and terror.

Zenith Sunni pulled out her hidden dual blades from her robe and she coated her sharp blades with Aura. She began to slash the air, spun and plunge down the stage before a shockwave was released and put out the fire that was burning everyone alive. Her movements were barely visible to naked eyes due to her extreme speed that befitted her title as the Peerless Sky.

Although she managed to prevent the disaster, the damage had been done, some of them didn’t survive from the burn while those who survived were still affected by fear and terror, worsening the wounds all over their bodies.

"Did something happen to the arrays? Not only did they fail to expose her, the arrays also failed to prevent her evil arts," Ogun could only clenched his fists, powerless because he had no prowess in martial arts.

"It’s because she’s a Grandmaster. Rumors arent just rumors anymore," Ma answered, his hands mirrored Ogun’s. He wanted to join the fight, but as an Alliance Leader, he needed more information about what kind of a martial artist he was facing. That was why the Zeniths were the ones who made the move first to gauge any information about Ruen. "We don’t have any information about the Demonic Cult in the past century. It’s not a surprise if they know how to counter our arrays," he pointed out.

Sunni stood up and stared coldly at Ruen, whose identity was revealed to be the rumored Grandmaster of the Demonic Cult, the Queen of the Night.

"Zephyr unit heed my command!" Sunni shouted.

In just a few seconds, martial arts experts appeared on top of the roofs of the buildings around the courtyard. Martial artists that wore all-white robes and veils that covered the lower half of their faces knelt. A unit that consisted of no other than Sunni’s disciples, the Falcons of the Peerless Sky.

"The Stoop Formation!" Sunni raised her left blade and pointed at the sky.

The Zephyr unit pulled out their hidden dual blades from their robes and their eyes focused and fixated on Ruen. There was no fear in their eyes even after what they had witnessed, unlike the guests and the participants of the tournaments.

As soon as Sunni lowered her left blade and pointed at Ruen, all of her disciples, fifteen of them dashed and jumped down toward Ruen. They kicked the air behind them, increasing their speed and momentum as ear-tearing sonic booms were produced. At the same time, Ruen put her right hand on her back, the hand that held the black sword. She casually lifted her left hand, revealing her long black nails.

The Zephyr unit dove and released a powerful attack simultaneously, and they jumped away and kicked the air once again to change their trajectory so they dove toward her again. They continued to strike her without any gap in between, but Sunni and everyone in the courtyard were stunned by the effortless act of Ruen flicking her hand to block the endless combined attacks that should be impossible to block or even evade.

Ruen spun slowly as she used her nails to block the blades that were attacking her. Her expression was impassive, bored even. She didn’t need to use her other hand to block, not even moving her whole left arm. The gap in skill was too obvious, even the Zeniths found it ridiculous, and Ogun’s complains and confusions died the moment he realized what a monster the Queen of the Night was.

Sunni had enough observing and she slowly readied her stance. At that moment, her disciples felt the change in the air when their master began to make a move. They no longer continued their formation and jumped away from Ruen and tried to rescue the guests and the participants that were still affected by fear and terror.

Sunni didn’t say a single word and immediately dashed toward Ruen, releasing a powerful sonic boom that made the ground and walls crack. She did dozens of attacks in a mere second, nobody other than the Zeniths and Ma could see her attacks. Every clash was enough to turn the ground where Ruen stood into a small crater that grew wider and deeper.

The attacks were relentless and powerful that Ruen could see her nails were being chipped away with every clash. The speed of Sunni’s attacks were faster than the total combined attacks that her disciples did from earlier. It made Ruen smile, and it was when she finally took interest in the fight by grabbing Sunni’s dual blades in between her fingers.

Sunni was in disbelief that her attacks weren’t just being deflected or blocked, but also being caught. When she tried to pull her blades, they didn’t budge no matter how hard she tried.

"Are you finally scared?" Ruen chuckled mischievously as she stared into Sunni’s eyes. "Or are you finally done being brave?" A grin began to form on her lips.
