Chapter 1361: Chapter 1361: Muscles Over Mind

The Wenqu Hotel is located in the middle section of Student Street. Known for its good food and low prices, it’s popular among students from Kanyue City Medical University.

The Ancient Medicine Class 42 originally had 33 members; now, excluding Wang Sicong, there are 32 left. Including family guests and teachers, almost fifty people took over half a floor, with a total of six tables.

Lin Tian agreed to come to the gathering yesterday, which lifted Liou Qingcheng’s spirits. Lin Tian’s initiative to wear matching outfits made her even happier.

At half past five in the evening, the sky was filled with beautiful red clouds against a clear blue backdrop.

By this time, the sun had set, but the temperature remained high. As they entered the hotel arm in arm and felt the cool air-conditioning, they were instantly refreshed.

Most of the classmates and teachers had already arrived since the meal hadn’t started yet, snacks like sunflower seeds and peanuts became the mainstay.

Teachers like Zhao Xuefeng, Yang Wei, and Hu Gaofei were also invited and seated at the main table. Lin Tian and others sat at a secondary table.

Apart from the teachers’ table, there were five more tables, mostly seated according to dormitory groups.

Lin Tian and Liou Qingcheng were seated with Meng Nan, Sisi, Li, who also brought his new girlfriend Xv Qinghuan.

There were a total of six people at their table, which could seat ten, so it felt quite empty—until two unexpected guests joined them.

The two were Li’s ex-girlfriend, Qiu Wen, and her current boyfriend, Huang He.

"Hehe, Wenwen said there was a class gathering tonight, so I came along. I’m not familiar with anyone else here in your class; the people I know are all at this table."

Huang He, speaking with gentlemanly manners, pulled out a chair for Qiu Wen, gesturing for her to sit, then pulled one for himself.

Huang He sat with Meng Nan on his left and Qiu Wen on his right, leaving two empty seats beside Qiu Wen.

The presence of these unexpected guests turned the once lively and carefree atmosphere awkward and tense, as if a fight could break out at any moment.

Although Meng Nan didn’t know Huang He, he recognized Qiu Wen, and even if he wasn’t the sharpest mind, he knew exactly who these two troublemakers were.

Bang!

Meng Nan slapped Huang He’s shoulder with a harmless smile and asked, "Brother, you’re Huang He?"

Huang He disliked being touched by men, even through clothing. Though Meng Nan seemed casual, the slap felt heavy, as if it could dislocate his arm.

Faced with the situation, Huang He chuckled, saying, "That’s me. You must be Meng Nan? I’ve heard a lot about you."

Meng Nan was momentarily confused, "You know me?"

"Of course I do. Well... your physique is quite famous," Huang He replied with a grin, "You’re so well-built."

"Well-built" often implies another phrase: "simple-minded."

Huang He was subtly insulting him.

Qiu Wen understood, as did Lin Tian, Liou Qingcheng, Li, Xv Qinghuan, and Sisi. Meng Nan understood too.

This guy clearly came looking for trouble.

"Hehe, I actually admire you for joking like this while my hand is on your shoulder. Unfortunately, I don’t like joking with strangers. Furthermore, I think my well-built image isn’t widely recognized enough."

As he finished, Meng Nan’s voice tightened as he held his breath, his right hand bearing down on Huang He’s shoulder.

Meng Nan had accompanied Li to Black Gold; Li was the strategist, while Meng Nan followed the warrior path. He not only went through Tian Ming’s special training but also steeped in numerous medicinal baths from "Tyrant Emperor’s Record," and took plenty of physique-enhancing medications—his strength had become intimidating.

Though Meng Nan’s current abilities hadn’t reached those of a novice martial artist, his explosive power and destructive capabilities were impressive.

If he were angry, he could leave Huang He half-disabled. Even with his hand alone on Huang He’s shoulder, the tension in his fingers could dislocate his arm effortlessly.

But before Meng Nan exerted force, Huang He pretended to scream in agony, "Don’t pinch, don’t pinch, it hurts!"

Huang He didn’t lower his voice, so his cries were easily heard by all the teachers and students in Ancient Medicine Class 42.

Last week, Huang He, Li and Lin Tian had fought in the classroom, witnessed by everyone. Just now, many eyes had fallen on them, curious to see what conflict might erupt.

Sure enough, before ten exchanges were made, physical action had commenced. From appearances, Meng Nan from their class had taken the upper hand, much to the delight of onlookers.

But for the teachers at the main table witnessing this, the situation was different. Were they really intending to fight in the presence of teachers?

"What are you doing?" Zhao Xuefeng stood up from his chair instantly, his stern expression commanding authority.

When Zhao Xuefeng spoke, Meng Nan instinctively released his grip; Huang He also smiled at Zhao Xuefeng, assuring, "It’s nothing, we’re just joking around."

"Even joking has limits; don’t go overboard," replied Zhao Xuefeng as he returned to his seat.

Meng Nan leaned against his chair, glancing mockingly at Huang He, taunting, "You really are cowardly. I hadn’t even exerted any force, and you were already yelling in pain."

Lin Tian chimed in, delivering another blow, "Or maybe not cowardly, maybe just weak."

Li agreed with a nod, "Judging by his looks, he might not have much longer to live."

Upon hearing this, Huang He nearly exploded with rage. His hatred for these two was already intense; now facing them, the tension was palpable, each word cutting deep.

With a cold snort, Huang He retorted, "This isn’t cowardice, it’s knowing how to use leverage. Would I let you crush me simply like that?"

After speaking, Huang He glanced at Meng Nan again, taunting, "You well-built types wouldn’t understand."

This remark nearly made Meng Nan fume with anger; was this guy addicted to insulting?

Meng Nan considered teaching this guy a lesson but remembered Zhao Xuefeng’s expression earlier and held back.

Just then, Lin Tian spoke unexpectedly, "Last time we met was at the school’s infirmary. At that time, your face was bruised, your body weak, like a limp mess. But now, you seem quite recovered."

Hearing this, Huang He gritted his teeth; no one likes having old wounds reopened.

Reflecting on that time in the school’s infirmary, Huang He had suffered tremulously. After surgery, he spent three arduous days recuperating there—the experience was anything but pleasant!
