The Invincible Full-Moon System
Chapter 2064: Broken Free
<Divine Quest: Lambs for the Greater Moon — completed!>
<Obtained 100,000 Divinity Points!>
<Notice: an amplifier was involved within the Divine Quest>
<Recalculating rewards...>
<Congratulations, the user obtained 150,000 Divinity Points!>
Sooner or later, Rex would need to battle against Diamantona in order to win the Purgation Duel.
Even though his preparations were solid, he wanted to complete the Divine Quest—before confronting Diamantona. He would need the extra divinity points. And now—with the death of High Millinar Vlaos and Angela, he completed the quest.
As he stood, he could feel his power rising from within.
Slowly but steadily, he bears the presence of something beyond mortal more and more.
Rex’s lips curled wickedly like a crescent moon—as with this Divine Quest and also the Divine Tainting skill that he inflicted on those two, he killed, his divinity points now rested at shy of five hundred thousand points.
He was now most likely invincible within the 2-star Awakened Demigod realm.
Nobody would be able to touch him.
And that wasn’t including a few tricks up his sleeve that would bolster his strength even higher.
Rex was now ready to take on Diamantona.
No other preparations he could do—this was his current absolute limit.
Now that I’m ready, I don’t need this guy anymore.
Rex’s burning eyes settled on High Millinar Julas, who was still in his grip; his life lay in the balance, as he was now hauled up the ground by the neck and placed in a helpless position. No amount of unyielding effort would free him from this situation.
Slowly, Rex raised his free hand and summoned the Red Dawn of Kaiser on it.
It was time to end this farce and move to the main dish.
Defeating the main dish would not only give him great satisfaction, but it would also be a massive haul and an opportunity to solidify his relationship with the Uncrowned Matron of Ire. Kei Xun back in the Spirit Realm was a great help, but she was barely a Scion.
Not to mention, she belonged to the Sadness Stratum.
On the other hand, the Uncrowned Matron of Ire was on the Anger Stratum. In the same group as him.
Befriending her would be really beneficial for him.
Since the cost of doing that was Diamantona’s head, Rex would harvest the head today.
It wasn’t an everyday opportunity to have an arena where he could kill without suffering punishments.
No consequences at all.
Rex pointed his Red Dawn of Kaiser at High Millinar Julas’ stomach, and then thrust with a grunt.
His claws pierced through the unprotected flesh and burst out from the back. A warm ooze spread across his entire arm—it was the sensation that he knew too well. Something that Rex had already grown used to in a very long time.
Even before the System, he was already used to it—the feeling of blood drizzling down his arms.
Now, three enemies were down.
Just a couple more to go and I could start making my way to the Blood Moon Realm. To Kaiser.
Rex’s lips curled into a nasty grin at the thought.
But then, his danger senses suddenly screamed at him, a signal that he wasn’t expecting.
Something was wrong.
In a snap, Rex raised his gaze to look at High Millinar Julas and saw a foreign pair of eyes staring back at him. A gaze so sharp and cold that it should never belong to someone who was on the verge of death.
Not to mention, the colour of High Millinar Julas’ eyes changed.
Now, they were bright red and gleaming like diamonds.
Crack—!
A sudden, loud snap like the sound of a dead branch cracking resounded.
Pain shot through Rex’s arm—a white-hot, blinding agony as a knee landed on his elbow that was stuck inside High Millinar Julas’ stomach—driving upward until it gave way. His golden exoskeleton and his bone broke.
He watched his arm bend in a direction it was never meant to bend.
How did he get this strength?
Strength-wise, High Millinar Julas was now far below him, as he was exhausted and weakened.
No shot that he could break Rex’s strong arm like this, snap it as if it were nothing. But before his mind could even process what had happened—his thoughts were swallowed whole by the chaos that erupted in the next second.
High Millinar Julas pulled Rex’s arm from inside his stomach—the limb came free with a wet sound.
And then he thrust his own arm forward—straight into Rex’s chest. His fingernails suddenly changed; they now gleamed with the same crimson as his eyes, and they pierced through skin and muscle, driving deep.
But they didn’t pierce through.
Rex’s body that was filled with a formation of rock-solid muscle, clamped down on his arm.
A powerful squeeze that could even break bones.
Even as his hand was breaking inside Rex’s chest, High Millinar Julas showed no sign of pain. His arm was lodged, trapped inside, but he didn’t scream. He simply tried to pull back, but Rex’s body held him fast without any intention of letting go.
Above them, Davina recoiled.
’Where did this sudden strength come from? He was near-death seconds ago.’
She pointed her hands down at High Millinar Julas, emerald light gathering in her palms.
But she was too late.
A red crystal lance burst from High Millinar Julas’s back, whipping through the air toward her. It moved faster than her senses could track, and it carved a diagonal gash across her torso—deep and brutal, from shoulder to hip.
She was thrown back; blood sprayed in vicious arcs as her body tumbled through the air.
Just at the third spin, she caught herself.
Realizing that this sudden spike of power seemed to be unnatural, her gaze naturally turned toward the red shore. Expecting that there was external help being siphoned into High Millinar Julas. And when her eyes found the red shore below, she immediately gritted her teeth.
She raised her hand, summoning twenty emerald stars, intending to unleash a barrage.
But the red crystal lance moved again.
Like it was conscious, it whipped toward Davina, faster than before.
It sensed what she was attempting to do and decided to intervene, stopping her from doing anything.
Davina was barely able to pull her right arm away in time, but failed to save her left arm. The red crystal caught it cleanly, and her left arm was detached from her body, severed at the shoulder in an impressively clean cut like that of a surgeon.
Blood erupted.
A scream forced its way to her throat, but she swallowed it back, enduring the pain.
Her werewolf form’s regeneration was far stronger than her normal one. And with the moonlight, along with starlight pouring down from above, her severed arm regrew at a rapid pace. In under ten seconds— it was whole again.
As if it was never severed to begin with.
Below her, Rex’s crimson eyes sparked with malice at the sight.
He smelled the metallic tang in the air.
Something that he recognized almost instantly—and then he felt a drop fall to his face. He could smell the scent of Davina clearly in it, and the fog of anger clouded his mind. Rex only saw red once again; she was harmed in front of his eyes.
Rex drank malice like a black hole sucking time and space, and let malice take over.
Roar—!
A thunderous roar escaped his mouth.
He opened his mouth, revealing his razor-sharp teeth, and bit down on High Millinar Julas’ shoulder as if he was a wild animal. And with a brutal yank, he tore sideways, ripping the entire arm from its socket, and munched the flesh and swallowed.
Blood sprayed across his face—the scent of his enemy overpowered the scent of Davina.
And for the first time, High Millinar Julas shrieked in agony.
But the red crystal lance was already moving.
It swatted Rex skyward with a force that caught even him off guard. He spun through the air—tumbling, unable to stop his momentum. Davina, still reeling from her shock, reached out with her remaining arm and caught him.
She pulled him close, steadying his balance, and together they looked down at the red shore below.
"Direct your anger to the culprit," Davina whispered.
Just her voice alone was enough to snap Rex out of his furious stupor, and his gaze naturally shifted to the red shore. There, flanked by the two High Millinars that were struggling against Vadyn earlier, was Diamantona.
He was already out.
And unlike earlier, his face was already contorted into something ugly.
It seemed being trapped inside the dimensional prison by High Lord Rashal tugged on his patience.
Now, that string of patience had already snapped.
Even his eyes had already begun to flicker with a blue hue as his Blank power was activating.
Out of nowhere, Vadyn emerged from a tiny mirror fragment that floated beneath Diamantona’s spot.
She had been struggling moments ago—fighting desperately in order to contain the two High Millinars who were trying to break Diamantona free from his dimensional prison. Of course—having them leave their important tasks was already a good thing.
Because of that, the Major Law of Coldness and Ice had weakened.
Losing their focus meant sacrificing their powers.
But Vadyn knew that if Diamantona participated in the battle right now, when the High Millinars weren’t fully dealt with, the tide would turn against them again. She couldn’t let that happen. She would try to stall for time.
Alas, she failed.
Now, Diamantona had broken free thanks to the two High Millinars.
But she didn’t dwell on her failure.
Beneath him, the mirror fragment expanded—and Vadyn erupted from it like a specter, blade already thrusting forward. The tip was aimed straight at Diamantona’s chin, angled with perfect precision so the entire length would drive up through the brain.
As the tip touched Diamantona’s skin, it stopped.
Clang—!
A loud, clanging noise rang out, like a hammer striking an anvil.
Sparks flew across Vadyn’s vision, brilliant and blinding, and her eyes widened in horror.
She was surprised to see the blade hadn’t pierced through. It hadn’t even cut the superficial layer of the skin and leave a scratch. Diamantona’s skin was harder than anything she had ever encountered—much harder than armour.
Her weapon, coupled with the perfect killing stroke, had been rendered useless.
Diamantona’s cold eyes dropped on her.
She tried to retreat.
But pain suddenly washed over her like a tidal wave.
It came from everywhere at once—her stomach, her chest, her spine.
She screamed, a guttural sound that tore from her throat—and staggered backward. But Diamantona’s hand shot out and seized her by the hair, yanking her forward. And then, his other hand pressed against her stomach.
A red crystal stabbed through her abdomen.
It punched through flesh and bone with vicious, effortless force.
None of Vadyn’s defensive layers were able to stop it.
She gasped—blood erupted from her mouth, and her body convulsed.
She was hurled backward—but another force stopped her mid-track. Diamantona’s hand twisted.
Showing no mercy, the red crystal exploded.
It burst into a cluster of jagged shards, each one expanding outward, tearing through her from the inside.
Her body came apart. Her organs, her bones, her very essence—all of it was shredded, destroyed. Fragments of glass exploded outward as Vadyn’s form shattered into nothing, a thousand pieces of what had once been a warrior, scattered across the red shore like broken mirrors.
Silence followed.
Diamantona stood there, unmoved, his hand still raised.
He had not moved from his spot. He had not even flinched.
Being trapped in the dimensional prison wasn’t a pleasant experience, and now he was filled with anger that was already threatening to explode. The strongest warrior under High Lord Ursa’s wing had finally entered the battle, and in the span of a single breath, he had annihilated Vadyn.
Rex’s eyes narrowed as he met Diamantona’s gaze without backing down.
And then, his lips tugged into a smile.
Here he comes.
