The Hidden Luna of Blackmoor Valley
Chapter 347 The sharpening
Chapter 347: Chapter 347 The sharpening
Talia’s POV
I woke with a start, and I felt something different.
It was not the warmth of the sun on my skin, or the sound of the birds outside my window. It was something deeper, something that hummed beneath my skin like a second heartbeat. My wolf, Lyra, was stirring, and I could feel her presence stronger than ever before.
"Talia," she said, and her voice was clearer and more powerful than I had ever heard it. "I can feel everything now. The world is sharper, brighter, and more alive."
I sat up in bed, and I pressed my hand against my chest. I could feel her heartbeat mingling with mine, and I could feel the power flowing through my veins. I closed my eyes, and I let myself feel the change spreading through me.
"What is happening to me, Lyra?" I whispered.
She answered, and her voice was steady and sure. "You are becoming what you were always meant to be. The old magic is awakening something inside us, something that has been sleeping for too long."
I climbed out of bed, and I walked to the window.
The morning light was filtering through the trees, and I could see the dew glistening on the grass. But everything looked different now. I could see the individual blades of grass, and I could see the tiny insects moving among them. I could smell the earth and the flowers and the distant smoke from the kitchen fires.
I felt like I was seeing the world for the first time.
I stood there for a long moment, trying to understand what was happening to me. From the sounds, to the smells, and down the sensations, they were all overwhelming, and I did not know how to process them. I pressed my hands against my temples, and I tried to focus.
"Lyra," I whispered. "Is this going to stop? Is this going to be like this forever?"
She answered, and her voice was calm. "You will learn to control it, Talia. For now, just let yourself feel it. Do not fight it."
I took a breath, and I let myself feel the world around me.
I dressed quickly, and I walked through the stronghold. The hallways were busy with wolves going about their morning routines, and I watched them with new eyes. I could hear their heartbeats, and I could feel their emotions washing over me like waves. I could sense their fear, their hope, and their determination.
I walked into the courtyard, and I saw two servants arguing near the well. They were both young, and their faces were flushed with anger. A small wooden box sat on the ground between them, and they were shouting at each other.
"It is mine!" the first servant said, and her voice was sharp. "My mother gave it to me before she died."
"Liar!" the second servant shouted back. "I have had that box for years. You are trying to steal it from me!"
I walked closer, and I felt a strange sensation in my chest. It was like a tugging, and a pull toward the truth. I looked at the first servant, and I felt the lie in her words. Her heartbeat was racing, and her eyes were darting away from mine. I looked at the second servant, and I felt the truth in her words. Her heartbeat was steady, and her eyes were clear.
I walked to them, and I saw them both turn to look at me. They bowed their heads, and I saw the fear in their eyes.
"Luna," the first servant said. "I am sorry you had to see this. She is trying to steal my mother’s box."
I looked at her, and I felt the lie burning in my chest. It was like a sour taste in my mouth, and I could not ignore it.
"No," I said, and my voice was calm but firm. "She is not the one lying. You are."
The first servant’s eyes widened. "Luna?"
I stepped closer, and I looked into her eyes. "I can feel the lie in your words. Your heart is racing, and your eyes are avoiding mine. You are not telling the truth."
She opened her mouth to argue, but no words came out. Her face paled, and I saw the tears welling in her eyes.
"I... I am sorry, Luna," she whispered. "I just wanted it. It was so beautiful, and I thought no one would know."
I looked at the second servant, and I saw the gratitude in her eyes. "Take your box," I said. "And go."
She nodded, and she picked up the box. She bowed her head, and she hurried away.
The first servant was still standing there, with her face pale and her hands trembling. I looked at her, and I felt the pity rising in my chest.
"Your punishment will be light," I said. "But you will not steal again. Do you understand?"
She nodded, and I saw the tears streaming down her face. "Yes, Luna. Thank you, Luna."
I watched her walk away, and I felt the strange sensation fading from my chest.
I turned, and I saw Kaelen standing at the edge of the courtyard. He had been watching me, and I could see the curiosity in his eyes.
"Talia," he said, and he walked to me. "What just happened?"
I shook my head, and I felt the confusion and wonder mixing in my chest. "I do not know, Kaelen. But I could feel the lie. And... I could taste it."
He looked at me, and I saw the concern in his gray eyes. "What do you mean?"
I pressed my hand against my chest. "When she spoke, I could feel that she was lying. It was like a sour taste in my mouth, like something that was wrong. I could not ignore it."
He was quiet for a moment, and I saw the wheels turning behind his eyes. He was watching me like I was a puzzle he was trying to solve, and I could see the concern and the curiosity mixing together.
"Talia," he said, and his voice was slow and measured. "When you spoke to her, I could see it in your eyes. I could feel that something changed, and something shifted."
