Chapter 305: Chapter 305 Getting to the meeting point

Kaelen’s POV

I ran through the darkness, and I felt the exhaustion pressing down on me with every step. My legs were shaking, and my arms were burning from carrying Talia. The guards were behind us, and I could hear their shouts getting closer with each passing moment.

I needed to move faster, and I needed to shift.

I reached for my wolf, and I tried to call him forward with everything I had. I felt the familiar pull in my chest, the warmth of the shift that had always been there when I needed it most.

But nothing happened.

I tried again, pushing harder and calling to my wolf with every ounce of strength I had left.

I tried again, and I called to my wolf with everything I had. "Come on," I said through gritted teeth. "I need you. Our mate needs you. Please, I am begging you."

But there was only silence in my chest. There was no answer, no warmth, and no presence.

I pressed my hand against my chest, and I felt for him with my mind. "Where are you?" I whispered. "I cannot feel you. Please, just give me something. I need your speed, I need your power, and I need your strength right now to escape. I need to protect them."

But still, there was nothing.

I felt the panic rising in my throat, and I tried again. "I know you are in there, and I know that the silver has weakened you. But I need you now more than ever. Please."

But my wolf did not answer. It seemed like he was still buried beneath the silver, and he was too weak to answer.

I stumbled suddenly, and I caught myself before I fell with Talia still in my arms. "Come on," I whispered, my voice cracking with desperation. "Come on, please."

But my wolf did not come.

Seraphina looked at me, and I saw the fear in her tired eyes. "Kaelen, what is wrong? What is happening?"

I shook my head, and I felt the frustration building in my chest. "I cannot shift, Seraphina. My wolf... he will not respond. I feel like he has gone deep into hiding, because of the silver."

She looked at me with understanding in her eyes. "The silver has weakened him, just like it weakened Talia’s magic."

I nodded, and I felt the weight of my failure pressing down on me. I was an Alpha, and I should be able to protect them. I should be able to shift and carry them to safety. But I could not even do that.

"Keep going," I said, forcing myself to move forward. "We keep going, and we do not stop."

We ran through the darkness, and I felt my strength fading with every step. My legs were shaking, and my vision was blurry. I knew that I could not keep going like this. I needed help, and I needed to reach Cain.

I closed my eyes, and I reached for the mind link with everything I had left. It was weak, and still suppressed by the silver, but it was there. I could feel it flickering in the back of my mind.

"Cain," I called out in my mind, and my voice was desperate. "Cain, can you hear me?"

There was complete silence, and nothing but the sound of my own breathing and the pounding of my heart.

I tried again, pushing harder and forcing the words through the silver. "Cain, we are out. We escaped. But Talia is unconscious, and her mother is with us. The guards are chasing us, and we need you. Please."

Still, there was nothing. The mind link was too weak, and the silver was too strong, and I could not reach him.

I felt the despair rising in my chest, cold and heavy. It seemed like we were alone, we were lost, and the guards were getting closer.

Then I heard a voice. It was faint and distant, but it was unmistakable.

"Alpha? Is that you?" The voice called.

I felt the relief flooding through me, warm and overwhelming. "Cain! Yes, it is me. Where are you? Where is everyone?"

"We are at the meeting point," Cain said, and I could hear the urgency in his voice. "Where we parted. We are all here, Alpha. We are waiting for you."

"Stay there," I said, and I felt the hope surging through my veins. "We are coming. Do not leave. We are almost there."

I opened my eyes, and I looked at Seraphina with new determination. "They are at the meeting point," I said. "Cain and the others. They are waiting for us. We need to get there fast."

Seraphina nodded, and I saw the hope flickering in her tired eyes. "Then we go. We do not stop."

We ran through the darkness, and I kept my eyes fixed on the path ahead, trying so hard to locate the meeting point, and the place where we had parted. I felt joy filling my chest, as we moved closer to the place where they were waiting for us.

As we got closer, I saw them before they saw me. There were shadows in the darkness with four figures standing at the edge of the Ashen Lands. I instantly knew that it was Cain, Jax, Silas, and Piper. Their faces were turned toward us, and I could see the relief on their faces when they spotted us.

"Alpha!" Jax shouted, and his voice carried through the night. "Over here! We are over here!"

I ran toward them, and I felt the relief flooding through me with every step. They were here, they were safe, and we were not alone anymore.

I reached them, and I collapsed to my knees with Talia still in my arms. But i could not let her go, because I was too afraid to.

"Alpha," Cain said, kneeling beside me with worry in his eyes. "Is she okay? Is the Luna alright?"
