Chapter 221: Chapter 221 Talia’s teasing

Talia’s POV

I separated the charm from the pendant, careful not to damage the chain.

I held the pendant in my hand, the same one my mother had given me. The chain was still good, and still strong.

I held it up to the light, and I felt the weight of it in my palm. It was a reminder of everything I had survived, and everything I was about to face.

I separated the glamour charm from the necklace pendant, and placed the broken glamour charm in the drawer. I closed the drawer, and pressed my hand against it.

I lingered for a moment, letting the cool wood ground me. It was a small act, but it felt like closing a Chapter. A Chapter of hiding, of fear, and of waiting.

I would not need the glamour charm again, but I kept the pendant.

I wanted to carry a piece of my mother’s on this mission, so I slipped the necklace over my head.

The pendant rested just above my collarbone, and I could feel the slight weight of it against my chest. It was warm, like it had been waiting for me.

And the silver chain settled against my skin. I touched it gently, feeling the warmth of the metal against my chest.

I closed my eyes for a moment, and I let myself feel her presence. I knew that my mother was with me, always. Even if I could not see her, and even if I could not touch her, I knew that she was with me.

I would wear this pendant as a reminder of my mother, of the years I had survived, and of the woman I had become. I would carry her with me, always.

I looked at myself in the mirror.

I saw the woman I had become, standing tall and strong. She was not the scared girl from Cresswood anymore. She was a Luna, a warrior, and a daughter who would not stop until she found her mother.

The pendant gleamed against my collarbone, and I felt the weight of it against my chest. It was a small thing, but it meant everything.

I was ready, and I was not hiding anymore.

The words felt like a vow, and a promise I was making to myself. I would not run from who I was, and I would not hide from what I had become.

The door opened behind me, and I turned. Kaelen was standing there, with his gray eyes soft and warm.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

I nodded. "I am ready."

He walked to me and took my hand. "Then let us go." He kissed my forehead. “We have to say goodbye to the pack for now, and also have to see grandfather,as well as running through all the arrangements one final time, just to make sure that nothing was skipped by mistake.”

“You are right, Alpha Kaelen,” I replied.

Kaelen’s face switched from soft to hard in a second, and I knew that, it was because I called him by his title.

He stared at me, and his jaw tightened. "What did you just call me?"

I bit my lip, trying not to laugh. "Alpha Kaelen?"

He stepped closer, and his gray eyes darkened. "Say it again."

"Alpha Kaelen," I repeated, and I could barely keep a straight face.

Finally I burst in to laughter. “i am just joking, but I love your face, baby Kaelen.”

Kaelen immediately smiled at my words, and he kissed my lips. “I should punish you for that, Mrs Frost.” he smiled, and grabbed my bum firmly.

I smiled. “If this is the punishment, then I will gladly take it.” I said. "I love you,"

He pulled back just enough to look at me. "I love you too. Even when you are being difficult."

"I am never difficult," I said.

He raised an eyebrow. "You are always difficult."

I laughed. "I guess that is why you love me."

"That is exactly why I love you," he said.

Kaelen looked at me for a moment, then he kissed my lips again. “Ok, we will go further in to that punishment after the mission. But for now, the pack and grandfather are waiting. Let us go.”

I nodded, and we began to head for the door.

Kaelen’s hand found mine, and his fingers laced through my own. "Are you sure you are ready?" he asked.

I squeezed his hand. "I am sure."

"Good," he said. "Because I am going to be right beside you. Every step of the way."

I looked up at him, and I felt the love in his eyes. "I know," I said. "That is why I am not afraid.”

I looked back at the drawer one last time, and a soft smile crossed my face. The charm was gone, but I was not. In fact, I was stronger than I had ever been.

And with this strength, I would bring my mother home.
