Chapter 186: Chapter 186 The mated pair 2

Talia’s POV

There was a moment of silence, and then her voice filled my head. "Talia? Is that you?"

"Yes," I said, and I could hear the joy in my own voice. "I can use the mind-link now. Kaelen and I are bonded."

"Oh, Talia!" Her voice was filled with excitement. "I am so happy for you!"

"Thank you, Nora," I said. "Could you bring us breakfast? Rice and some good food? I am feeling hungry."

"Of course, Luna." she said. "I will have it ready soon."

I opened my eyes and smiled at Kaelen.

I could feel the excitement bubbling inside me, because I had done it. I had used the mind-link, and I felt that i was truly part of the pack now.

"Nora is bringing breakfast." I said.

He laughed. "You are already using your new power."

I shrugged, and I could feel the smile on my face.

It was such a small thing, but it meant so much, that I was no longer an outsider, and I was no longer invisible. I was one of them.

"I just wanted to try it out." I smiled.

“Come on, let’s shower and get ready, so we would not be late for the gathering.” he said.

I nodded, and climb out of bed.

We stepped in to the bathroom, and we showered together. The warm water sprayed on us together, washing away the last traces of sleep.

The steam filled the room, and I felt the tension of the past few days slowly melting away. There was something intimate about this moment, about the way we moved together without words.

He washed my back, and I washed his, and we did not speak, because we did not need to.

When we came out, wrapped in towels, a knock came at the door.

I felt a flutter of excitement in my chest, because I knew that Nora had come. And that meant, our breakfast was here.

I opened it, and Nora was standing in the hallway, holding a tray of food.

Her face was bright with a smile, and I could see the tears glistening in her eyes.

In the tray that Nora brought, there was rice, roasted meat, vegetables cooked in herbs, and a bowl of fresh fruits.

"Congratulations," she said, her eyes bright with tears. "I am so happy for you both."

She was happy for us, and I was grateful to have someone who was truly happy for me, just like Piper.

"Thank you, Nora," I said.

I took the tray from her, because Kaelen was still wrapped in a towel, then she bowed, and left. I set the tray on the desk and walked to Kaelen’s side.

I kiss him softly on the cheek, and he smiled and kissed me back.

“You should do that more often.” he said with a smile on his face.

I blushed, and I felt my cheek burn hot.

After that, we dressed quickly and sat at the desk together.

The food smelled delicious, and my stomach growled in response. I had not realized how hungry I truly was, until I saw the tray.

The rice was warm and fluffy, and the meat was tender. We ate together, and I savored every bite.

I closed my eyes and let the flavors wash over me. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the meat was tender and juicy. It was the best meal I had eaten in a long time.

"This is wonderful," I said.

Kaelen smiled. "The people who made this, and the kitchen altogether, outdid themself."

After breakfast, we walked to the Gathering Hall together.

The hall was full when we arrived, and I could feel the eyes of the pack on me, warm and welcoming. They were not staring at me like a stranger, they were looking at me like family.

The pack was gathered, with their faces turned toward us. Grandfather Aldric stood at the front, with his gray eyes sharp and proud.

Kaelen took my hand, and we walked to the front of the hall together.

"Talia and Kaelen have completed the bond," Aldric announced. "They are true mates."

The pack erupted in cheers.

The sound was deafening, but it was not overwhelming. It was joyful, and it was a celebration of love and complete belonging.

Wolves howled and clapped and shouted their names.

Piper pushed through the crowd, with her eyes that were red, and her cheeks that were wet.

I had barely seen her cry a handful of times like this before. She was always so strong, and so steady. But today, she was letting herself feel everything.

When she got close enough to me, she threw her arms around me."I am so happy for you," she whispered.

I hugged her back tightly.

I felt her tears on my shoulder, and I felt my own eyes burning. She had been with me through everything, and she was more than a friend. She was family.

"Thank you, Piper." I said with a tear filled voice.

Jax grinned and slapped Kaelen on the back.

I had never seen him look so happy. He was always joking, and always laughing, but this was different. This was genuine, just like always.

"Finally," he said. "I was starting to think you would never do it."

Kaelen glared at him, but there was no heat in it. "Shut up, Jax."

Jax laughed.

Silas was walking towards us now, and he smiled. It was a small smile, but it was real.

Cain stood at the back, with his arms crossed.

He was always so serious, and so guarded. But I could see the warmth in his eyes, and the pride he was trying to hide.

He did not smile, but he nodded once. Which was his usual style, and it was enough.

I looked at the pack, and I felt the love swelling in my chest. Because I belonged here, I belonged to them, and I belonged to Kaelen.

He squeezed my hand, and I looked up at him. His gray eyes were soft, and he smiled.

"Home," he said.

I felt the weight of the word settle in my chest. “Home.” It was not just a place, it was a feeling, and I finally had it.

"Home," I repeated with a bright smile.
