The heroes want to kill me

Chapter 46: Two coin sides

  • Next Chapter

A picturesque hotel building.

It was remaining one hour and 30 minutes before the time deadline would be reached. So now I am doing what a normal person will do. I kept admiring the hotel building from the far distance, and maybe also observing it. Maybe I would be able to see any trap set out for me there.

The majestic hotel with a gold and white exterior. The hotel was fully equipped with modern details in its designs.

The place looked like a place that would only be filled with rich, aristocrat people. People that would feel insulted to be among the working-class people.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to not just show up. I believe the world would be better without some kind of people in it. They are only making the world more unbearable to live in sometimes. But I won’t do that. The rich pompous people are like that for some reason. Their rich pompous attitude could motivate someone, could motivate them enough for that person to surpass the rich pompous people.

I believe the guy who kindly threw me an invite is on the roof of the building. I believe he’s waiting for me there, maybe even expecting me to arrive before the end of the countdown.

I am pretty sure that villain does not know about aura farming. I will arrive maybe when it remains one second on the clock, when people have already believed that I am not coming. It would be an extraordinary booming entrance.

But there is a problem I haven’t fully prepared myself for. And the problem is, I have not the slightest idea of who the guy is, what his power is, or anything else. Maybe the obvious one, like he is a villain. But apart from that, I have nothing, nothing to write about.

So I will enter the battle blind. "This is going to be interesting," I thought.

I don’t have any idea of how a villain I don’t know about could possibly exist. I guess this is that butterfly effect they always talk about. The annoying effect that’s related to time.

"Vivian, have you found any information on the guy yet?" I asked.

I am wearing an ear pod in my ears.

"Why are you asking? You would know if you are facing the guy. Friesian, don’t tell me you haven’t entered the building yet," Vivian said.

"I have not, and I am not entering the building in the literal sense. It is a roof meeting, so I am not really entering the building," I said.

"Are you really doing this, Friesian? You said you want to protect your image by appearing, so why aren’t you appearing, Friesian?" she said.

"I never said I won’t appear. I am just waiting for the right, appropriate time," I said.

"Appropriate time? You said appropriate time? It’s literally remaining 30 seconds left on the timer. When is your own ’appropriate time’?" she asked.

"I don’t think that would do you good for knowing. I don’t think you would like what I am saying, so I am just going to go when the time is right," I said.

"When the time is right? Friesian, when are you planning to enter the building!!" she shouted.

Lupingo quickly removed his ear pod away from his ear, before it blasted his ear away.

"She does not understand what a cool entrance means. I hope she wouldn’t be too angry about this," Lupingo thought.

Vivian had shouted Lupingo’s name countless times. Now she is tired. Sometimes she just felt like squeezing his neck sometimes, making his head pop out from his body, because most times he always acts like a child sometimes. And she is younger than him, far, far younger, and yet she is the one that always acts like the adult. Sometimes she feels that she is losing her time to be a child because of him.

...

Back in Lupingo’s view.

When it remained 5 seconds on the clock, Lupingo began to merge with darkness. He used the darkness to teleport himself to the roof of the building.

...

"Hey viewers, I gave you the opportunity for change, but Lupingo failed to show up. It remains 3 seconds on the clock, but Lupingo is nowhere to be found. Remember that their death was not caused by me. It is the fault of your favorite villain. The blood would only be on his hands entirely. My hands are clean and spotless."

The villain said. He then wanted to press the bomb button, but he stopped himself when he noticed a dark shadow hidden in the corner.

"Lupingo, welcome to my own show. Come out and show yourself to the world, or don’t tell me you are a coward. Are you afraid to show yourself to the world?" the villain said.

The villain looked at the corner where he felt the shadow, expecting Lupingo to come out from there, but he was wrong because Lupingo came out from behind him.

He appeared in a black, slimy substance that later formed him.

"Hey, who are you talking to? I am right here," Lupingo said.

The villain was surprised, but he chose not to show it. He turned his head normally and said,

"Truly, they weren’t wrong about you. An unpredictable villain, they said, and now I can see it."

"I am not understanding what you are saying, but that’s not really important, is it? What do you need me for?" Lupingo asked.

"Hmmm, that’s fast. I believe it’s slow and steady wins the race, not the other way around, is it not?" the villain said.

"I don’t really have much time, you see. You called me, and I came, so why the waste of time? Let’s be fast with all this. I have somewhere to be, and a volcano to stop from erupting, if it hasn’t," Lupingo said.

"I don’t understand what you are saying. I just want to have a discussion with you. I want to show you some things your eyes have failed to see. I am not really interested in fighting you. But that doesn’t mean I won’t fight you if you fail to listen to me."

"Hmmm, okay, I am all ears. So what do you want to say?" Lupingo said.

"I am here to offer you a proposition, a good offering, an executive alliance between both of us."

"An executive alliance? Wow, that is already sounding good in my ear. How can I refuse that? But go on," Lupingo said.

"If you agree to join the alliance, you will be granted your own domain to rule, a domain half of Ireland, with slaves and servants at your demand."

"Are you sure you are supposed to be saying this on live TV?" Lupingo said.

"You don’t need to worry about that. It’s better if they know. That would make the heroes shiver wherever they are in," the villain said.

"Heroes shivering? I like it. Continue," Lupingo said.

"You see, the heroes are not what they are. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are more evil than us, and yet we are the ones that are called villains. Do you see the justice in that?

"Many lives die each day, at every second, minute, and hour, and it’s all because of our heroes. Innocent lives lost at the hands of the so-called heroes, and yet we are the ones that face a live execution for any crime we commit.

"What of the crimes they commit? Who is judging them? Our organization was created to be the justice that brings every evil so-called hero to justice. We will be the judge that will judge them, and execute them for their crimes.

"The world will be fully cleansed of any word that bears the heroes’ name. It would be a villain utopia, a beautiful utopia, where everybody would be what they say they are. They won’t be two-faced like the so-called heroes.

"Okay, that sounds very interesting. But let me ask some questions, can I?" Lupingo said.

"You can ask. I would happily answer all your questions, Mr. Lupingo," the villain said.

"What will happen to all the heroes? What will be their fate?" Lupingo said.

"They will all be put on a permanent retire plan. Does that sound fitting for you, Mr. Lupingo?" the villain said.

"That sounds extremely fitting for me. That’s a wonderful proposition. A world with no heroes in it, a villain utopia. That’s very interesting," Lupingo said.

"So are you interested? Are you in, Mr. Lupingo?" the villain said.

"I am interested, but I am not in," Lupingo said.

"What do you mean, Mr. Lupingo? We are doing this to stop the heroes’ tyranny over the villains. Why would you say you are not in?"

"Don’t be offended. You see, your idea sounds beautiful and all that, but your plot also includes something, something I can never allow," Lupingo said.

"Mr. Lupingo, could you please shed light on the thing that made you disagree with the plan?" the villain said.

"That would be the killing of all heroes. You see, that would be a no for me. I know that the heroes commit crimes too, like villains. I know that the heroes always go scot-free from their crimes, that they always seem to cover it up. I am not living in a rock, you see. I can see the infestations, and I can see how it’s spreading more and more each day.

"So..."

The villain wanted to talk, but he was stopped by Lupingo.

"Don’t interrupt me. I am not done yet. Instead of destroying all the heroes, why don’t you destroy those at fault? Some crimes that we villains do are enough for a live execution, but sometimes we always escape.

"The two sides of the coin may look different, but they are still originated from the same coin. We are all the same. So if you want to stop the heroes’ crimes, you have to start from the very top, and leave the truly good heroes alone. If you can promise to do that, then I can join your organization."
