The heroes want to kill me

Chapter 42: What was light

  • Next Chapter

‎What was light?

‎

‎The thought floated through his pain-addled mind, a fragment of a lesson he had forgotten. He started to remember his high school physics and many other things. long ago even till now light was the foundation of all things. It was the first creation, the spark that ignited existence. It was not a tool to be wielded but a force to be understood, a weapon in itself, a word changing idea.

‎

I had an ‎understanding.

‎

‎He have to find the right key. Light is a very large part in all existence, he just need to know how to apply it. And as luck as it now, he have some ideas on what to do. He activated the light and its responded to his will, but only to the extent that he understood what he was asking it to do. He could make his hand glow because he understood that light could illuminate. He then started to form a sword, a sword because he understood that light could be shaped.

‎

‎But light could do so much more than forming sword shapes.

‎

‎Light could move.

‎

‎The realization struck him like a physical blow. Light was the fastest thing in existence. It crossed the void between stars in years, traversed the distance from the sun to the earth in minutes. It was speed incarnate, motion made manifest.

‎

‎He closed his eyes and focused on that understanding. He didn’t try to make his hand glow. He didn’t stop the light transformation for the sword. He simply thought about light, about its nature, about its speed.

‎

‎And then he moved.

‎

‎One moment he was lying on the ground, broken and defeated. The next, he was standing ten feet away, his body vibrating with a strange energy. The Statue’s head snapped toward him, its blank face somehow conveying surprise.

‎

‎He looked down at himself. He was still injured, still in pain, but the light was different now. It wasn’t just in his hand; it was in his entire body, circulating his cells with a gentle radiance. He could feel it humming beneath his skin, waiting to be used.

‎

‎He understood now. Light was not just illumination. Light was energy. Light was motion. Light was the fundamental force that made the universe move, it was the something that makes the universe possible. it was the reason the universe was filled with so many wonderous and fascinating thing.

‎

‎And now he was light. lupingo was feeling so strong and fulfilled now, he believes that with this power now he could finally wipe the grin of that statue face, but he also feel that the power is only temporary. it felt like an adrenaline shot, a shot that once it leaves his body would make him extremely weak. so he decided to attacked and deal with the statue quickly.

‎

‎The statue attacked.

‎

‎It moved with that same fluid precision, launching a combination that would have overwhelmed him before. A jab, a cross, a hook, a knee, each strike delivered with tripled force and perfect technique.

‎

‎I saw it all this time.

‎

‎I couldn’t see it before, but because of my newfound understanding. The light in my body was reacting to the statue’s movements, processing information at speeds i had never experienced. I could see the trajectory of each strike before it was thrown, could predict the follow-up before the first punch landed.

‎

‎I moved, no more time to waste.

‎

‎It wasn’t a dodge. It was a relocation. One moment I was in front of the Statue, the next I was behind it. The statue’s strikes passed through empty air, its annoying grin faltering for some second, and I caught it all because of the light power. I almost felt delight, but the bastard put on that annoying grin back. I moved in a process that make the statue wonder the sudden disappearance of its target.

‎

‎I didn’t attack. I didn’t need to. I simply stood there, watching, learning. Now with the rate I am moving, I could finally see everything I have been missing, the light ability was showing him things, revealing patterns in the statue’s movements that he had been too slow to see before.

‎

‎The statue spun, its rear elbow cutting through the space where I had been standing. But I was already gone, reappearing on the other side of the hall.

‎

‎Now I am closer to the throne sit.

‎

‎The statue’s head tracked him, its grin like face somehow conveying confusion. Its eyes was struggling, trying to calculate the speed of a being that moved at the speed of light.

‎

‎I understood. I understood that it is finally time to mock the S.O.B. How dare it mocks me.

‎

‎You know all those an eye for an eye yadayada nonsense. All I care about now is payback.

‎

‎"is the self proclaimed king lost, don’t tell me the king can’t defeat little old me, how pathetic of a king, no wonder you were trapped, hahaha 😆😂😂😂. "I said and laugh at the statue.

‎

‎The statue grin just got wider but I can see the anger on it face. I don’t know if it’s the word or the laugh, but who cares I made the statue angry. And that’s a win on my side.

‎

‎Now that he finally have a win against the statue, he knew he have to end it. He couldn’t maintain this speed forever. The light in his body was depleting, burning through his reserves at an alarming rate. He had minutes, maybe seconds, before he would be reduced to his normal, human speed.

‎

‎He had to end this now.

‎

‎The statue charged, abandoning its careful technique for a full-speed assault. It had calculated that its best chance was to overwhelm him with sheer aggression, to deny him the time to use his new ability.

‎

‎I met the charge. I met it with my own annoying grin, which is plastered on my face due to my delight.

‎

‎I didn’t dodge. I didn’t block. I simply moved forward, my body becoming a beam of light that pierced through the statue’s defenses.

‎

‎The impact was not physical. It was fundamental. my light-infused body passed through the statue’s chest, and where I passed, the stone began to glow.

‎

‎The statue froze. Its internal structure, the organ that gave it power, was being flooded with light. it’s multiplication ability tried to process the energy, tried to multiply it, but light was not something it could comprehend. So therefore light was not something that it could tripled.

‎

‎The Statue’s body began to crack.

‎

‎He landed behind it and he wished he have a cowboy hat so bad, if he had he would just turn it to the side to make himself looks cool.

‎

‎Although his body was also screaming in protest. The light was fading, his reserves nearly depleted. He had one chance, one final attack.

‎

‎He turned and raised his hand.

‎

‎The light that gathered in his palm was not different from before. but this time it wasn’t just any light sword. that just glow. It was a sword that glows and is filled with a concentrated beam of pure, focused radiance, a nuclear sword of understanding made manifest.

‎

‎He threw it with all the energy he could mustered.

‎

‎The nuclear sword struck the statue in the center of its back, piercing through the stone like paper. The statue’s internal system, already overloaded with light, shattered completely. The multiplication ability, the core of its power, was destroyed in an instant.

‎

‎The Colossus stood motionless for a moment, its body crisscrossed with glowing cracks. Then it crumbled, collapsing into a pile of inert rubble that steamed in the cold air.

‎

‎I fell to my knees.

‎

‎The light around my body flickered and died, leaving him hollow and exhausted. His injuries, held at bay by the light’s energy, came flooding back with a vengeance. His knee, his shoulder, his ribs, his face, and every part of him screamed in agony.

‎

‎He lay on the cold hard ground, surrounded by the rubble of his enemy, and stared up at the dark void above. He had won. He had learned. He had become something more than he was. And the most important of all, he defeat the grinning maniac, he wiped that annoying grin from its rocky exterior.

‎

‎The courtyard walls did not dissolve like video games do, but the seamless Throne the statue was sitting at began fading into mist. like what’s the use of a throne without a king, it would just be useless. He could see the alter, and he have a feeling that for him to leave, he have to do something at the alter first. But now the trial was over and I am already tired.

‎

‎I layed down on the ground, I don’t even care about my safety, anything that wants to come should, all I know is that I am tired and I want to rest.

‎

‎My eyelid felt very heavy, it was getting harder to stop it from closing, but the one thing I don’t understand is why I am stopping it. I closed my eyes and soon the hall was filled with my beautiful snores.

‎

‎The alter ain’t moving anywhere, it would still be there even when I opened my eyes. I believe it so, even if I don’t know why. but for now, sleep is all that matters.
