Chapter 152: The Wrath of the Void

On top of a tall building, Maria could be seen using her power.

A massive portal appeared high in the sky.

A bright green portal.

From within it, mutated monsters continued pouring out.

Maria laughed happily.

"HAHAHAHAHA!! THIS IS IT!! THE POWER I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!"

While Maria was busy with her own affairs, Erika stood upright behind her, waiting for another command from Maria.

"Everything... is going according to plan!"

Maria said as her laughter continued.

The heroes below looked up when the sky suddenly darkened.

When they all looked above them, their expressions were filled with disbelief.

"W-What is actually happening...?"

One of the heroes asked.

"Are... Are we all going to die?"

Another hero spoke.

They all seemed to be losing their spirit.

Right at that moment, a female voice could be heard.

"What are you thinking!?"

Hearing that, the heroes turned toward the source of the voice.

It was Lightnova, who was being helped to stand by Nightwolf.

"Don’t give up so easily! We can definitely handle this! Until the very end! No matter how tired you are, if we give up here, innocent people will become victims. People who don’t have powers like us will end up as corpses scattered across the streets! Is that what you all want!?"

The heroes began to hesitate.

One of them muttered,

"She’s right... My family is here. I became a hero to protect them!"

"That’s right! Everyone, don’t give up so easily!"

Another hero shouted.

That sentiment quickly spread among the other heroes.

They all began raising their weapons and running toward the monsters that were pouring into the city.

"You’re really good at bringing their spirits back."

Nightwolf said.

"Hah... I don’t know... But it had to be done. Otherwise, there would only be more victims."

Nightwolf gave a faint smile.

"I... I have to join them..."

Nightwolf stopped Lightnova.

"Stop. You’ve reached your limit. You’ve fought enough. Rest for a while."

"I can’t... They need me."

"I’ll take care of that."

Right behind them, dozens of Nightwolf’s shadow wolves appeared.

They ran toward the monsters and began helping the other heroes.

"You...? How can you summon this many...?"

"After we returned from Paris, I immediately secluded myself and trained intensely for several days."

"Hah... Amazing..."

"Enough. I’ll help them. You just rest here for a while and recover your energy."

"...Alright... If you insist, then I don’t have a choice."

Nightwolf helped Lightnova sit down and lean against a building.

After that, Nightwolf immediately ran toward the heroes and began helping them fight the monsters.

Everything was burning.

Destroyed.

Nothing remained intact.

Min-seo, who had been left behind, looked around in confusion, unsure where Jinhoo had gone.

She walked toward the living room.

The living room hadn’t completely burned down yet.

Her eyes widened.

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

In front of her, So-ah was lying unconscious, her body covered in injuries.

"So-ah!!"

Min-seo immediately ran toward So-ah.

"So-ah! So-ah! Wake up! Please!"

She checked So-ah’s pulse.

It was still there.

Min-seo looked slightly relieved.

Not far from there, Elvera was sitting against a wall, her arm bleeding and her face covered in injuries.

She was still conscious and trying to stop the bleeding from her arm.

Seeing this, Min-seo immediately ran toward Elvera.

"Unnie! What happened!? Who did this to you...?"

"U-Ugh... Forget who did it... Go to Donghyun’s room... Gae-in and the others are in there—"

She coughed up blood.

Min-seo panicked.

She tried to help Elvera.

"Forget about me! Just go to Donghyun’s room, quickly!"

"O-Okay..."

With that, Min-seo had no choice.

She immediately ran toward Donghyun’s room.

When she reached the door, Min-seo stopped.

Her eyes widened as if she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Jinhoo was holding the bodies of Donghyun and Mira in his arms.

There was a stab wound in the left side of Donghyun’s chest.

It had pierced his heart.

Mira had also been stabbed in the heart.

In Mira’s hand, she was tightly holding the doll Jinhoo had given her.

Min-seo covered her mouth in shock.

She couldn’t see Jinhoo’s expression because his back was facing her.

On the floor, Gae-in could be seen lying unconscious, her face covered in small slash wounds.

Min-seo looked at Jinhoo.

He wasn’t moving at all.

She heard Jinhoo muttering.

"I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry..."

Min-seo tried to walk closer.

She stepped forward while calling out to Jinhoo.

She didn’t call him Oppa anymore.

"J-Jinhoo...?"

Around Jinhoo’s body, clumps of blue light began to appear.

The ground trembled.

Objects slowly began floating into the air.

"Jinhoo...?"

Jinhoo didn’t respond.

He simply stood there, frozen in place, refusing to let go of his embrace.

"Jinhoo!!"

Min-seo screamed loudly.

Jinhoo raised his head.

The objects that had been floating began falling back to the ground.

Slowly, Jinhoo lowered the bodies of Donghyun and Mira onto the floor.

He stood up without turning around, refusing to let Min-seo see his face.

"J-Jinhoo...?"

Min-seo called out once more.

"Min-seo, take care of them for a moment."

He raised his left hand sideways, holding it vertically.

He pointed it toward the wall that was engulfed in flames.

A blue light appeared from his hand.

The blue light vanished in an instant.

But it didn’t simply disappear.

It left behind an incredibly powerful shockwave of energy.

The shockwave instantly extinguished the flames engulfing Jinhoo’s house.

Min-seo looked shocked.

"J-Jinhoo? Your power has returned..."

Jinhoo lowered his left hand.

"There’s something I need to take care of. I’m going to make them understand what the true meaning of the Void is."

Without turning around, Jinhoo immediately teleported away.

Leaving them all behind.

In the city, the green portal continued growing larger.

Maria watched it with increasing excitement.

"HAHAHA, YES! GROW! LET THIS CITY BE DESTROYED!!"

Meanwhile, Jinhoo was already standing on top of one of the tall buildings.

Without saying or thinking much, he crossed both of his arms and snapped the fingers of both hands.

A clump of dark blue light appeared in front of him.

Jinhoo immediately caught the clump and clenched it in his hand.

He squeezed it so tightly that the clump shattered in his grasp.

After it shattered, he opened his hand.

The clump of light had broken into several smaller pieces.

Those fragments began floating extremely high into the sky.

Once several pieces of dark blue light had reached the sky above, Jinhoo spread both of his arms.

He muttered,

"Void... Realm of Emptynies."

After he said those words, the blue lights began expanding.

Wider.

And wider.

Their size eventually surpassed even Maria’s portal.

In the center of the blue light, a black hole surrounded by white radiance could be seen.

The hole moved as if it were an eye looking down below.

Like the eye of a creator watching over a world.

Maria, who saw it, looked bewildered.

"W-What is that!?"

The other heroes were equally confused by what they were seeing above them.

Meanwhile, Jinhoo muttered,

"Destroy those who dare lay a hand on my people..."

He spoke in a cold tone.

There was no trace of his usual joking voice anymore.

It had all vanished in an instant.

Jinhoo’s face could be seen clearly.

His gaze was incredibly sharp and cold.

Yet from his eyes, traces of blood could be seen.

He was crying blood.

"Today, I no longer care about the story’s plot. All I want... is a revenge worthy of what they’ve done."
