But the next second, she heard a soft chuckle,

"Bonnie, what are you so nervous about? I just wanted to grab a piece of clothing that’s hanging behind you."

Yvonne Lowell’s eyes flew open, landing on Leo Grant’s long, slender neck.

’All it would take is one light slice from a dagger to easily sever his carotid artery.’

The sly fox had her boxed in, and she could hear the sound of clothes being taken off a hanger behind her.

Yvonne Lowell narrowed her eyes, her tone laced with danger. "Did you do that on purpose? Are you messing with me?"

"I wouldn’t dare. I’m telling the truth, see?"

Leo Grant took half a step back and, with a look of pure innocence, waved the clothes in his hand.

The corner of Yvonne Lowell’s mouth curled into an unreadable smile as she bent her knee and thrust it upward.

’This sly fox needs to be taught a lesson!’

But Leo Grant reacted in a flash, catching her knee in his hand and pulling her into his arms.

Leo Grant’s voice was laced with panic. "Are you trying to murder your dear husband?! Don’t you want to be happy for the rest of your life?"

Yvonne Lowell sneered. "Big deal, I’ll just get a new one. A three-legged toad is hard to find, but you think I can’t find a two-legged man?"

With that, she threw a punch at him.

Leo Grant tossed the clothes aside, caught her fist in his hand, and brought it to his lips for a kiss.

"So cruel? You’re really going to hit your favorite face?"

Yvonne Lowell tried to cleverly wrench her knee free to land a roundhouse kick.

But Leo Grant anticipated her move. Before she could act, he swept her up into a koala hug, pressing her against the wardrobe.

His voice was husky. "Bonnie, all sales are final. No returns or exchanges. For the rest of your life, you’re stuck with me."

Yvonne Lowell couldn’t break free. Her brows knitted together tightly. "Grant, if you want a fight, let me go. We can take it to the fighting ring."

Leo Grant shook his head. "I don’t want to fight. That’s why I’m not letting go."

Yvonne Lowell clenched her fists again. Sensing her movement, Leo Grant did the unexpected and leaned in, offering her his face.

"If you’re still angry, go ahead and hit me. Right on this face, your favorite one. Besides, I know you have a sharp tongue but a soft heart. You obviously held back when you were hitting me just now. And even if you mess up my face, I’ll still be yours."

Yvonne Lowell was so exasperated she laughed. ’What is this? So this is what they mean when they say the favorite can get away with anything, huh?!’

Her gaze fell, and she spotted two points of pink. A mischievous glint flashed in Yvonne Lowell’s eyes, and she reached out and gave them a hard pinch.

"Ngh..."

A tingling numbness, like a mild electric shock, shot through Leo Grant’s entire body, and he couldn’t stop a muffled groan from escaping.

Yvonne Lowell gave him an innocent look. "Why are you looking at me like that? Weren’t you the one who told me to hit you? And aren’t you shirtless just to make it easier for me to cop a feel? See? I don’t go around touching other people, only you. That just proves how special you are to me."

’Two can play at that game!’

Leo Grant’s eyes darkened unreadably as he caressed the nape of her neck. ’This little troublemaker is turning it around and blaming the victim, is she?’

When he didn’t say anything, Yvonne Lowell pushed at him again. "Put me down already!"

But his response was to cup the back of her neck and pull her into a deep kiss.

After a long moment, Leo Grant finally released her, resting his forehead against hers. His gaze, openly possessive, locked with hers.

Feeling the lingering tingle on her lips, Yvonne Lowell shot him an irritated glare and cursed him in her head. ’Sly fox!’

"Looks like Bonnie isn’t satisfied with my service. Should we go for round two?" Leo Grant gave her a light peck.

"Round two my ass! Let go of me! I’m going back to Continent N!"

Worried he had truly angered her, Leo Grant didn’t let go. Instead, he hugged her even tighter.

"I was wrong! I promise, it won’t happen again! Next time you want a kiss, I swear I’ll have my lips ready for you in a heartbeat!"

A vein throbbed on Yvonne Lowell’s temple. "Leo! Grant!"

’What kind of human greaseball did I end up dating?! Can I please have my elegant, dignified boyfriend back?!’

Leo Grant held her close, stroking her back soothingly. He leaned into her ear and whispered, "I truly know I was wrong. Forgive me this one time, okay? Please?"

The struggles of the woman in his arms gradually subsided. Seeing her ears flush a deep red, Leo Grant let out a huge sigh of relief. ’Thank god the cutesy act worked!’

’He gave the little chibi devil on his shoulder, the one who’d given him the idea, a big mental slap. *That’s what you get for being so slick! That’s what you get for being so cocky! Look what happened! You almost took it too far!*’

"Just put me down first."

A glint appeared in Leo Grant’s eyes as he asked tentatively, "Bonnie, you’re not angry anymore, are you?"

"I will be if you don’t put me down right now," Yvonne Lowell said in a low, dangerous voice.

’Damn it,’ he thought. ’Beauty really is a fatal temptation!’

Leo Grant quickly put her down and gave her an eager-to-please smile. "I’ll just put on a shirt, then I’ll take you down for a look around."

Yvonne Lowell rolled her eyes in irritation. ’What a devious dog! His mind has more twists and turns than a maze!’

...

The two of them and the lion had just stepped out of the elevator when they heard a THUD.

Yvonne Lowell looked up to see Nolan Crawford sitting on the sofa, staring their way with his mouth agape. On the floor lay an apple with a bite taken out of it...

"Yvonne, when did you— AHHHHHHHH!!!"

Yvonne Lowell was frozen by the sudden, dolphin-like shriek. Just as she was about to ask what he was freaking out about, she caught sight of the Leogryph moving from behind her to her right side.

Right. Mystery solved.

Nolan Crawford leaped to his feet. He started toward them but stopped short, not daring to get too close.

"Leogryph! When did you get here? Why didn’t you have Uncle come pick you up?!"

It was no wonder Nolan Crawford didn’t know; he had just woken up and come downstairs. The two humans and one lion were the first living creatures he had seen all day.

"ROAR!" ’Are you trying to summon a ghost? All that screaming! You’re going to scare all the good luck away!’

The Leogryph shook its head impatiently and nudged against Yvonne Lowell’s thigh.

Nolan Crawford grinned like a fool. "What? You missed me? Hehe, Uncle missed you too. Can I finally pet you today?"

"ROAR!" ’Are you nuts?! All you think about all day is petting! Don’t you know two guys shouldn’t be so touchy-feely?! You like petting that much, huh?! Fine!!’

The Leogryph’s mouth had barely closed before it began striding toward him.

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow and whispered to the sly man beside her, "It’s a shame Boss Crawford never studied vocal performance."

Leo Grant chuckled. "Actually, he was in the school choir, and his mom even made him take a few years of classical voice lessons."

Yvonne Lowell’s mouth twitched. ’That amateurish dolphin shriek certainly didn’t sound like it came from someone with classical voice training...’

Meanwhile, Nolan Crawford was stunned by the unexpected favor of the Leogryph actively walking toward him.

’Well,’ he thought, ’since its master, Yvonne Lowell, is right here, my personal safety should be guaranteed.’

So he quickly squatted down and opened his arms wide. "Come on, come to your uncle’s embrace."

Not one to disappoint, the Leogryph leaped directly at him.
