Chapter 2629 - 2628: Drinking Alcohol

"This is alcohol, want to try some?"

Ling Feng poured himself a glass and asked casually.

Huo Huo was a bit curious. She looked at him and asked, "What’s alcohol?"

"It’s a kind of drink. After you drink it, you’ll feel relaxed and happy." Ling Feng said.

"Then pour me one, I want to try!" Huo Huo said.

Ling Feng nodded and poured her a glass too.

Huo Huo lifted the cup and sniffed it. The smell seemed a bit strong, so she glanced at Ling Feng. "You can really drink this stuff?"

"Of course."

Ling Feng picked up his glass and took a sip first.

Seeing this, Huo Huo didn’t ask any more. She tipped her head back and downed the whole glass in one go!

Ling Feng was stunned. He didn’t even have time to stop her.

Huo Huo stuck out her tongue, looking miserable. "Why does it taste like this?"

"You drank way too much at once. This is something you’re supposed to sip slowly."

Ling Feng was speechless, but he also found it pretty funny inside.

By now a flush had already risen on Huo Huo’s face, and then she seemed a bit dazed as she asked, "Eh? This stuff..."

Ling Feng looked at her. "Well? How is it?"

"Feels... actually pretty good."

Huo Huo got the words out, then her body slumped to the side and she toppled over!

Ling Feng reacted quickly, grabbed her, and propped her up. When he took a closer look, she had actually fallen asleep!

"..."

Ling Feng was instantly dumbfounded. He never would’ve thought her alcohol tolerance was this bad!

His original idea was to let her drink a little, so they could chat more and warm things up between them.

But it had turned out like this instead, and now he honestly didn’t know what to say.

Seeing Huo Huo’s face completely red, Ling Feng had no choice but to wrap one arm around her and grab her wrist with the other, helping her adjust her condition.

Her constitution seemed to be allergic to alcohol; otherwise there’s no way she’d be drunk from a single glass. If he didn’t deal with it, it could actually be pretty dangerous.

After he helped her purge the alcohol from her system, the color in Huo Huo’s face faded a lot and wasn’t so red anymore.

But she was still asleep and didn’t wake up at all.

Ling Feng could only sigh helplessly, set up a tent on the platform, and carry her inside.

Of course, at a time like this, it was impossible for Ling Feng to do anything to her.

That would’ve been way too low.

Once he settled her in, Ling Feng went back outside, finished off the remaining skewers, and then had two more drinks.

After eating and drinking his fill, he didn’t go rest. He just sat in the chair spacing out.

A few hours passed, and there was movement from the tent. Huo Huo crawled out from inside.

Seeing that she was back to normal, Ling Feng smiled and asked, "Sleep well?"

"Not bad."

Huo Huo answered, then asked, "That thing you gave me before, the alcohol, it’s seriously powerful!"

"I totally misjudged your constitution. If I’d known you can’t drink, I wouldn’t have let you touch it."

Ling Feng gave a wry smile, then said, "From now on we definitely can’t let you drink anymore."

"Really? I thought it was pretty nice. I felt really happy at the time." Huo Huo said.

"You drank too much—one full glass in one go. You passed out on the spot."

Ling Feng chuckled helplessly. "If you want to drink again next time, you have to sip it in tiny mouthfuls. You can’t pull a stunt like that again."

"Oh."

Huo Huo didn’t say anything else. She came over to sit beside him, then asked, "So what are we doing now?"

"Uh..."

Ling Feng looked at her. "I was just thinking, since we’ve got nothing to do anyway, why don’t I take you into outer space for a look around?"

"Sure!"

Huo Huo’s eyes lit up. "I’ve never left Demon Star before!"

"Then let’s go."

Ling Feng nodded, summoned Little Jin, then pulled Huo Huo up onto its back.

Little Jin took off into the air, shot up to high altitude within moments, then broke through the atmosphere and went straight into space.

Seeing the scenery around them, Huo Huo’s eyes were full of curiosity. She practically didn’t have enough eyes as she looked all around.

Ling Feng ordered Little Jin to head for the nearest planet. Since they were idle anyway, they might as well go prospecting for ore.

Before long, Little Jin flew to a bare, barren planet. Since it had no atmosphere, the surface could be seen clearly with the naked eye.

"Master, the main resource on this planet is iron ore, extremely abundant. About half the whole planet is iron ore." Little Jin said.

Ling Feng let out an "oh." Iron ore wasn’t worth it; he wasn’t interested. The mines he’d already dug up in Australia were more than enough for his use.

So he didn’t have Little Jin land, and instead went on to the next planet.

Huo Huo was just tagging along for fun, but driven by her curiosity she kept asking Ling Feng about this and that along the way, peppering him with questions.

Ling Feng didn’t find it annoying. He patiently explained things to her.

In the time that followed, the two of them stayed on Little Jin’s back and visited four different planets.

In the end, while those places all had mineral deposits, none of them contained rare ores, so they really weren’t worth mining.

But Huo Huo still had a great time. She learned quite a bit about the universe from Ling Feng and got to see what other planets looked like, so her harvest today was definitely the biggest.

After they finished their little tour, it had been something like over ten hours. Sitting next to Ling Feng, Huo Huo suddenly poked him in the waist. "Hey, I’m hungry again."

"Oh, okay, let’s head back then!"

As soon as Ling Feng heard that, he had Little Jin turn around and fly toward Demon Star.

When they got back to the same platform as before, Ling Feng looked at Huo Huo. "This time, do you want grilled meat or something else?"

"What else can you make?" Huo Huo asked.

"My specialty is grilling meat, but I can cook other ways too, like making stew or soup." Ling Feng said.

"Then let’s do soup."

Huo Huo said.

Ling Feng smiled without further comment and immediately started getting things ready.

After a while, a pot of thick, snow-white soup was done simmering.

Even without drinking it, the smell was already spreading everywhere.

Huo Huo swallowed her saliva, but she still hadn’t forgotten about the alcohol, so she asked, "Where’s that alcohol you had before?"

"Alcohol doesn’t go well with soup; it’ll water down the flavor. Better not drink for now." Ling Feng said.

But Huo Huo wasn’t having it. "It’s fine, I’ll drink the soup first and then drink the alcohol, right?"

Seeing she was insistent, Ling Feng didn’t argue. He took out the bottle and cups and poured her a glass.

Huo Huo really did drink the soup first. After tasting its delicious flavor, she only took a tiny, light sip of the alcohol.

As a faint flush rose on her face again, she smiled happily and said, "This really is good stuff. One sip and you feel joyful!"

"..."

Ling Feng looked at her speechlessly, thinking, Surely she’s not going to pass out from just that one sip?

Thankfully, Huo Huo only got a lot more cheerful and didn’t keel over.

Still, to keep her from accidentally drinking too much, Ling Feng reminded her a few times, telling her she absolutely couldn’t drink more, and had to take it slow.
