Chapter 367: Chapter 153: Boss Su, Wanted by the Whole City

’Worst case, I’ll give her a free bun. It can cover her gas money!’

"Where are we heading today, Boss Su?"

Su Chen tilted his head to look. Zhang Jiayi was wearing a long slip dress, similar in style to the ones she’d worn the past few days, except this one was pure black.

It lent her a unique sort of elegance.

This was a completely different aura from He Shuting and Ling Shuyu—the aura of nobility!

"I don’t even know where I’m going yet. Just follow the food truck."

"Huh?"

Zhang Jiayi stared at the food truck, which was moving at less than fifteen miles per hour, and was lost in thought.

’When I bought my Mercedes, I never imagined I’d be driving it at a turtle’s pace.’

They drove like that for nearly an hour!

When the food truck and the G-Wagon finally parked on the side of the road, Su Chen hopped out and took a look around.

The spot Liu Shengnan had picked was actually pretty nice. It was a residential area on the outskirts of Jingzhou.

Being on the outskirts, it was relatively quiet and had been developed more recently. The apartment buildings here were considerably more refined, and the residents were mostly people who preferred a quiet life, along with a good number of senior citizens.

It was just a little past five o’clock. Outside the residential complex, residents ambled by in twos and threes, carrying groceries as they headed home.

"Well now, Boss Su." Zhang Jiayi leaned over her steering wheel, observing the scene. "Most vendors fight to get a spot in a crowded place, but you seem to be going out of your way to avoid people. I’ve never seen anyone do business like this."

Su Chen glanced at her. "No live-streaming today."

"I know. What are you selling today? I made sure to bring money."

"Just wait and see."

He slipped into the food truck, plugged in the steamer, and added water. Everything started with steaming the crabs.

Next, he had Bai Xiaobo set up two tables in front of the food truck.

On one of them was a cardboard sign Su Chen had written himself: Crab-Shucking Contest.

[Rules: Select your own crab and compete against our employee. The winner gets their order for free. The loser pays the original price for their bun.]

The two mascots of Delicious sat behind the small table. Su Chen placed an assortment of bowls in front of them. "Whether we make money or lose it today is all up to you two!"

An inexplicable sense of mission and honor swelled within the hearts of the long-and-short-legged duo.

"Mission accepted!"

This was what Su Chen called his "game."

How could he convince customers to willingly spend so much money on a single bun?

Simple. He would let them see with their own eyes just how packed with premium ingredients it was!

And so, next to the two mascots, there was a large fish tank!

Liu Shengnan had bought it a long time ago to transport some sea bass when they went to E Province. Now, it was finally being put to good use.

With all the preparations complete, all that was left was to wait for customers to show up!

Watching this whole setup unfold, Zhang Jiayi hopped out of her car, curious. "Boss Su, what are you selling? Why did you bring live crabs?"

Su Chen pointed to the blackboard sign outside.

[Sweet Braised Pork: 88 per serving]

[Salty Braised Pork: 58 per serving]

[Cthulhu Crab Roe Bun: 98 each]

[Build-Your-Own Cthulhu Crab Roe Bun: 38 + price of crab]

Looking at the novel menu, Zhang Jiayi thought for a moment. "Can I order now?"

"Of course."

"Then I’ll have a serving of the sweet braised pork, one Cthulhu bun, and... what does ’Build-Your-Own’ mean?"

Bai Xiaobo explained with a smile, "You can pick a crab from the tank yourself. After we steam it, you can compete against these two. If you win, the bun is free. If you lose, we’ll make the bun for you at a price of 120 per jin for the crab."

This price was only slightly above wholesale, about the same as you’d find in a supermarket.

Besides, one crab isn’t enough to make a whole bun.

So, Bai Xiaobo added a friendly tip, "We recommend you pick three or four."

Hearing this, Zhang Jiayi’s interest was piqued. "I’ll take this one, this one, and this one!"

Following Zhang Jiayi’s directions, Bai Xiaobo scooped out three crabs. "You got it! A total of 1 jin and 2 liang, that’s 144 yuan. Plus the 38 yuan base price makes it 182 yuan! I’ll get these steaming for you right away!"

The moment he finished speaking, Su Chen had already finished wrapping a bun and placed it in a steamer basket, while simultaneously ladling five pieces of braised pork into a wok.

"The bun will take about seven minutes. Find a place to sit."

At the new stall location, there weren’t any other customers yet.

Zhang Jiayi stared longingly at the braised pork in Su Chen’s wok, the steaming basket, and the crabs she had just picked out, which were now inside the food truck.

"I can’t wait!"

To Zhang Jiayi, a bun that cost nearly two hundred yuan was no big deal. This was a woman who’d eaten a forty-thousand-yuan dessert; what wouldn’t she dare to try?

Of course, after eating that dessert, Zhang Jiayi had gained over thirty thousand new followers, most of whom were genuine, active fans.

It had been a worthwhile investment. An ordinary streamer might not even be able to buy that many followers for forty or fifty thousand yuan.

While Zhang Jiayi waited for her meal, on the other side of town, a lot of people were getting utterly confused!

「Jingzhou, Botanical Garden Pedestrian Street.」

One of the "Two Hundred" scratched his head. "What’s going on? Look at the time. How come Boss Su hasn’t shown up to open his stall yet?"

Teacher Tang fanned himself. "Something’s definitely not right. He was almost sold out by this time yesterday. What’s going on today? I’ll make a call and find out."

"Whoa! Teacher Tang, you actually have Boss Su’s contact info?"

Old Tang chuckled. "Of course not. But Old Sui went to the Meiweilai Company. I’ll give him a call and ask."

All day long, from morning till night, the Botanical Garden Pedestrian Street had been bustling with people.
