Chapter 355: Chapter 150: Back in the Old Business, Setting Up the Stall Again
"We’re heading out to set up the stall now. It’s on the Pedestrian Street at the Botanical Garden. Just grab a taxi—it’ll only be about fifteen yuan!"
Sui Po glanced up toward the second floor. "Alright, I won’t go in then. I’ll just head straight to the Pedestrian Street and wait there."
With that, he led his team of four downstairs.
Fang Chang scratched his head, then took the photo from his phone and made a post to his Moments feed.
I ran into Teacher Sui, haha. I’ll be eating with him in a little while. Hope he enjoys the food!
He read it over a few times.
’Yeah, a nice little flex. Feels good!’
The staff at Delicious were always quick and efficient.
Since Bai Xiaobo was out today, Zhang Heping was in charge of driving the food truck to the Botanical Garden.
Su Chen had wanted to ask Chen Wenliang to stay for a few more days. However, Chen Wenliang said that if Delicious decided to expand its pastry offerings, he could come back to Jingzhou anytime. For now, though, he had to return to Lu Province, since he couldn’t take too much time off from his job at the restaurant.
So, Su Chen had Liu Shengnan give Chen the Eighth a red envelope with five thousand yuan.
The success of the Chinese pastries was all thanks to his Eighth Senior Brother. The five thousand yuan was a gesture of friendship toward Old Ba. He couldn’t let the man come help him out for fun at his own expense, covering his own travel and lost wages.
Besides, with the extra twenty thousand yuan Zhang Jiayi had added later, this order was still quite profitable.
Everyone else took the food truck to the Botanical Garden. With Ling Shuyu gone, Su Chen no longer had a BMW to ride in.
As he stood outside the company’s entrance, about to hail a taxi...
"Boss Su?"
Su Chen looked up. "You’re..."
A G-Wagon was parked on the side of the road. In the driver’s seat was the customer who had spent forty thousand yuan the day before.
"Heh, I just thought I’d stop by to see if you needed any help," Zhang Jiayi said, sliding her sunglasses down her nose. "And while I was at it, if you weren’t too busy, maybe you could whip up some more of those pastries for me..."
"I don’t have time for pastries," Su Chen said. "We have to get to the Botanical Garden to set up the stall."
"Oh? Let’s go, I’ll give you a ride!" Zhang Jiayi hopped out of the car, her demeanor casual and bold, and pulled open the passenger door. "Get in! Perfect. If I go with the boss, I can be first in line for a fresh batch!"
Su Chen considered it for a moment, then accepted her offer.
Once he was in the car, he found the situation rather amusing.
’I don’t even own a car, yet I’m always riding around in either a BMW or a Mercedes. Am I starting to feel like a kept man?’
Seeing that Su Chen had his eyes closed and didn’t seem inclined to talk, Zhang Jiayi didn’t try to strike up a conversation.
Zhang Jiayi didn’t have much to do today anyway. While scrolling through TikTok, she’d seen several food bloggers, all of whom were the same streamers from that day’s broadcast.
Many of the streamers were declaring that the next place they had to check out was Boss Su’s!
Zhang Jiayi was quick to spot the opportunity.
This could be a massive wave of internet traffic. She was so close by, and she even had a bit of a connection with Boss Su.
If she couldn’t take advantage of this, it would be a real shame.
So, Zhang Jiayi had decided to bring her full livestreaming setup to his company to look for an opportunity.
This was perfect.
She had the inside track now.
’Boss Su is in my car right now. How can any of those other streamers possibly compete?’
The drive to the Botanical Garden wasn’t too long, and they arrived in about fifteen minutes.
Zhang Jiayi knew the area well. She drove straight to a spot just behind where Su Chen usually set up his stall, parking the G-Wagon up on the curb.
Just as she parked, Zhang Jiayi turned to grab her livestreaming gear. As her eyes swept over the center of the Pedestrian Street...
"Holy shit?!"
Su Chen turned to look as well.
And let out the same exclamation, "Holy shit?!"
They both stared.
The Pedestrian Street, normally empty at this hour, was now inexplicably packed with people.
And from the looks of it...
It looked like every single damn one of them... was a streamer!!!
